I guess the offense isn't the only thing on our team that has trouble driving.

He must have been wearing his seatbelt. Rolling his car then released this early.
We are cursed. Im almost afraid to come on this site to see one of the teams best players get traded, or getting hurt. Wheter its football related or not. I swear this team has more people getting hurt thats not football related.
His health is more important than football. This season is a 20 week training camp anyways but it would be nice to have the teams best DB playing against Green Bay because Rogers is a top tier QB playing behing a bad o-line. Wtight is probabley the only DB thats above average. A Pro Bowler on a decent team. Knowing they have a top QB and a horrible o-line, its a must that the Browns put as much pressure on Rogers as possible. If not then at least show blitz.

Does coughing and sneezing on him count as pressure?

LOL, did you think I meant sinus pressure?
The defense is going to have to tell the o-line, dont block me or you will get the flu!
On the other side of the ball, "if you tackle me, your going to get sick."

I am ashamed to admit that I opened this thread I was more concerned with the "Who?" than the "How is he?". Wright was the 1 name I hoped to NOT see ...... so that's what I got .....

While Wright's health is the most important thing - and he sounds like he'll be fine - I wonder what this means for Sunday?
Looks like we're really going to see how this year's draft produced. We're gonna see MoMass, Robo, Francies, Mack, Veikune, and Maiava on the field for some considerable time.
scary.

Rover was talking about it this morning and the question was - why can't these guys just get a limo/driver when it's going to be a late night of drinking, partying, etc?
Here's the best part - I was invited to a Browns in-person survey thing here recently and in our informal dinner Browns mgmt was there and they explained to us that the Browns have a program in place where the player just needs to call an 800# and this concierge service will get a driver to them. The cost to player: ZERO. The Browns pick up the tab.

I wouldn't get a limo even it was free...I like to drive.
I'm sure most of these players would rather drive their own car too. I don't see the big deal...he wasn't out drinking or anything.

it usually takes a bad situation to learn that driving and bad conditions dont mix as well as driving and good conditions. For me it was pulling a full 360 on a slush covered bridge outside of Pittsburgh.... luckily did not hit the car I was next to... but from then on I've been more than cautious about driving in bad spots. I'm sure Eric will as well ;P

True that. Without a safety belt those are the types of accidants that people get thrown out of the car and possibly rolled onto.

Browns' Wright returns to practice after post-crash tests Oct. 23, 2009 CBSSports.com wire reports http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/12410367 CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Browns cornerback Eric Wright was back at practice hours after flipping his car on a wet highway entrance ramp. He may play Sunday against Green Bay. Wright rolled his car early Friday when his vehicle slid on wet pavement. He was examined and released at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. The Browns sent him for more tests and Wright was back at the team's training facility in Berea, Ohio, in time for practice. Coach Eric Mangini was hopeful Wright would be able to play in Sunday's home game against the Packers. Mangini did not know if Wright would be cleared to practice. Wright rode a stationary bike and appeared uninjured during the 30-minute period he was observed by reporters. Mangini spoke with Wright before practice. "I'm really happy he's safe," he said. Police said Wright's accident happened at 2:10 a.m. Mangini did not take issue with Wright being out at that time. "I wouldn't necessarily be out at 2:10 in the morning, but we don't have curfew year-round," Mangini said. "I'd rather everybody be home, but guys do go out. You don't want to see anybody in a bad accident or any situation like that. I much prefer that guys were in, but it's a personal decision." Police did not ticket Wright for the crash. They said he was entering Interstate 490 from Interstate 77 east of downtown when he lost control. His car sustained substantial damage and was towed.

I much prefer that guys were in, but it's a personal decision."

This sheads a different light on the matter, for me at least. With the weather conditions the way they are, the surface conditions of the exit ramp were probably like driving on black ice. Even seasoned and cautious drivers have lost control in those conditions. I know I have and I have driven in some of the worst conditions Mother nature has thrown at me from Alaska, to the Upper Pen. of Michigan, to right here in Ohio. The slopes on either side of those ramps, if I recall that area corectly, are pretty steep.
Glad he was able to come out of it fairly unharmed.
Hears to hoping Dorsey is the Browns Ozzie Newsome.

Police say that Eric Wright is "lucky to be alive" Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on October 23, 2009 5:20 PM ET Browns cornerback Eric Wright flipped over in his Mercedes several times in a one-car accident Friday morning, according to Cleveland police. Florio wrote this morning that Wright escaped serious injury, and he has since been listed as questionable for Sunday's game with a shoulder injury. A police spokesman said this afternoon that Wright is "lucky to be alive." "It was a blessing that I came out period, really,'' Wright said. "It puts a lot of stuff in perspective for me and it's definitely a huge event in my life at this point. Luckily I'm here to see y'all." The police said that Wright probably would have died if he wasn't for his safety belt. They also said they had no cause to suspect Wright was drinking or under the influence of drugs. "I was very sober,'' Wright said. Wright hasn't been cited for the one-car crash and Browns coach Eric Mangini won't discipline him for being out so late. (The accident happened at 2:10 in the morning.) If he's feeling healthy enough, Wright will start against the Packers Sunday. web page

Glad he's OK...but I see he is listed with a Shoulder Injury for the game and did not participate in Friday's practice and is listed "Questionable" for the game.
Just thought I'd bring that update along.

I was in a similar car accident years ago and was wearing a safety belt. Still.... my brain was scrambled for a couple days and I was sore for about a week.
