jc..

I know I sometimes type one word when thinking another. Particularly "know" when I am thinking "no", or "there" when I mean "their".

Part of it is just my mind is way faster than my fingers, so sometimes I mistype, and being that they are correctly spelled words, the spell checker doesn't highlight them and bring them to my attention.

Even so, I still struggle with "to' and "too". It just sometimes doesn't LOOK right, so I second guess myself.

I have terrible grammar, cant spell proper but grammar has gone past the way side, just like common sence, praying in school, waving our flags, respecting our elders, ect.

The one that makes me cringe more than any other is when someone says, "Me and my friends...." In school we got hammered if we did this. What is so hard about using "My friends and I..." to say what you want?

When LeBron James uses, "Me and my teammates..." I want to throw things at my TV. My fiancee laughs when anyone says this because she knows how much I can't stand it. I'm anal about it because they drilled into our skulls during grade school.

Most people just don't take about grammar anymore. With the internet and online chat rooms, most people just shorthand every other word and most don't even know how a word such as definitely is spelled. Most will just text/type "def." when using it. I think it's a shame and shows how bad our educational system has gotten because I doubt if they even do vocabulary tests these days.

Answered here.

I think it boils down to intelligence. Those that are, tend to stick to grammar rules more that they learned all those years ago. Although, admittedly, I'm guilty of sticking in the occasional "me and my friends" sometimes

I can't remember the context. But I was on facebook earlier, and someones status was trying to say "Hence something", I can't remember what... But they put "Hints something"

It drove me nuts lol.
