On this, the 234th Birthday of the United States Marine Corps, I want to take an opportunity to remind all Marines past and present, to find the time today to locate, close with, and share a piece of cake, in memory of all those who cannot be with us anymore. A time-honored tradition passed down from those who went before, symbolizing the focus of the brotherhood that we all share in having borne the title, "Marine."
To all Jarheads, Leathernecks, and Soldiers of the Sea, and to our comrades in arms of our sister services, kudos on another year of exemplary patriotism and duty well done.

Late getting here.
Semper Fidelis Marines. - I have never been part of such an organization that was comprised of so many great people.
Graduated boot camp on April 25,1997. - Next to my marriage and my daughter's birth, the absolute greatest day of my life.
Still try to keep in touch with the platoon I was part of at Parris Island - 3037.
Oorah to my buddy Ace who chose to stay in and is now a Warrant Officer, and to my buddy Aquino who is a Gunny.
- People don't believe me when I tell them about the chow that is served on base every November 10. - Steak and Lobsters baby. Lots and lots of cake also.

It's actually muskrat meat and crawdads but Marines don't know the difference.
