Just thought I would make another thread...
Someone mentioned Gerhart from Stanford.. The guy is pretty good... Would love to have him in rotation with James Davis & Jerome Harrison. Most websites have him going in the 2nd/3rd round...
I considered him in my mock because I am a fan.. but.. I think some team will jump high on him b/c of his production. The guy gets yards...

He really isn't getting as much attention as he should. He should be getting looked at as a 1st rounder.

He is listed as 6'1" 235. I love having a big bruising Rb. His ultimate draft spot though will be determined by his 40 time. At draft time the NFL seems to care more about size and speed than production. http://content.usatoday.com/sportsdata/football/ncaaf/stanford/roster

I like the guy too, but does anyone remember "Touchdown" Tommy Vardel?

I had a feeling someone might bring him up.
Like Jester said, the 40 will be huge for him. Could make the difference between a 1st rounder and a 3rd rounder.

Umm...not sure how to say this, but he's white (I'm white)....when is the last time there was a good white RB? John Riggins in the early 80's?
I'm sure this will erk some people, but I don't want to draft a FB in the first 3 rounds, no matter how talented, tough, etc...

You know Wojo, I was wondering that the other day. When was the last time you saw a premiere RB who was white?
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

Well anyway the guy can play. I dont care what color he is. I'm not saying he's a must draft guy, just a guy that I raise an eyebrow to, a player or interest that I got to watch and was impressed by him.

My mock draft version 35235263920 1. Eric Berry SS - Playmaker nuff said 2. Sergio Kendle OLB - Will help provide a pass rusher opposite of KW 3. Joe Mcknight RB - People says he's a "poor mans reggie bush" that's BS. Joe can do everything and is not afraid to pound the rock inside. 3. Sam Young RT - Immediate starter at RT 4. Myron Rolle FS - Depends on what we do with Brodney Pool. VERY smart player and a great athlete. Only knock is if he can recommit to football after taking a year off in Oxford. 5. Aaron Hernandez TE - Bit of a reach but a great atheltic TE who can actually block!!! 5. Trindon Holliday KR/PR/WR - Fastest guy in college football and is just a playmaker 5. Tim Hiller QB - Very athletic, a guy who I think highly of as a QB 6. Bruce Carter LB - Good LB who can block punts 6. Greg Middleton LB - Don't know what happened to this guy because he was puting up monster sack numbers at Indiana 7. LeGarrete Blount RB - Big bruiser, hell might as well give him a chance unless he screws up

I honestelly can't say I agree or disagree because I never though Laurinautis or Maualuga would slip to the 2nd round. Plus don't forget guys like Greg Hardy, Willie Young, George Selvie, Brandon Lang, Brandon Graham or Ricky Sapp

Still too early, but... we are tied now with STL for the 1st OVERALL pick, would be a coin flip to see who gets #1
web page
Suh or Berry. As much as we need O, only D players are worthy (today anyway) of being 1st overall, imo today. See who declares early, but even with the likely suspects I still have those two as 1a and 1b..
Statistics are like a bikini; what they show is interesting, but what they hide is vital. Drive for show (1st round), Putt for dough (rest of draft).

Agree...there are no RB's, WR"s or O-line worthy of top 5 pick this draft.....QB is a matter of debate....i don't like any of the QB's this early (Bradford, Clausen, Locker, etc)

I would do a super high five if he were to fall to us in the second....I doubt he does, and if he did we would probably pass on him.

This is a terrible draft for the Browns. The best way for us to improve our offense would be to (gasp) trade back. There are no elite talents on offense at the top of the draft. There are a few good right tackles we could get in the mid 1st, a couple good tight ends in the late 1st, ditto with running backs, and I'll continually facepalm if we take a WR high. Only players worth taking (for us) in the top 10 are on defense.

I have a question why does it seem like every year people say the players in the draft get worse and worse?
It's just people said the exact same thing about last years draft.

This is actually a good draft, just a bad one for the Browns.
Attack - If we got Suh and Cody, I think our d-line might be set.

I won't be surprised at all to see us take a QB with our first pick. I don't know if it's the right thing to do because we have so many glaring holes but I can't see us passing on one if given the chance to get a franchise QB.

No I don't but that hasn't stopped teams from reaching for the best QB in a draft the last couple of years.
I didn't say I liked it. I just wouldn't be surprised by it

My new mock:
1. Cleveland Browns: Jake Locker QB Washington – Brady Quinn has struggled and the Browns need a face of the franchise.
2. Detroit Lions: Ndamukong Suh DT Nebraska – Suh addresses a need for the Lions, and gives Jim Schwartz his Albert Haynesworth.
3. St. Louis Rams: Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame – No team is more desperate for a QB than the Rams.
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Gerald McCoy DT Oklahoma – The Bucs defense is no longer what it once was; McCoy gives them a pass rushing presence on the inside.
5. Oakland Raiders: Carlos Dunlap DE Florida – The Raiders love physical freaks and Dunlap fits a need.
6. Kansas City Chiefs: Russell Okung OT Oklahoma St. – The Chiefs have a huge need for someone to help protect Matt Cassell.
7. Buffalo Bills: Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma – Buffalo has no one at QB, and Bradford falls due to durability issues.
8. Seattle Seahawks: Eric Berry S Tennessee – Berry bolsters a weak secondary in Seattle.
9. Washington Redskins: Anthony Davis OT Rutgers – The Redskins clearly need help along the offensive line, and make a reach to get it.
10. Denver Broncos (from Chicago): Terrence Cody DT Alabama – Denver’s main weakness is along the defensive line and Cody gives them a huge presence in the middle.
11. Tennessee Titans: Everson Griffen DE Southern California – Kyle Vanden Bosch is past his prime and a free agent. Griffen offers a valid replacement.
12. New York Jets: Corey Wootton DE Northwestern – The Jets need help along the defensive line and Wootton fits in with Rex Ryan’s versatile scheme.
13. San Francisco 49ers (from Carolina): Joe Haden CB Florida – San Francisco is in desperate need of secondary help.
14. San Francisco 49ers: Trent Williams OT Oklahoma – Williams gives them a bookend tackle opposite of Joe Staley.
15. Miami Dolphins: Taylor Mays S Southern California – The Dolphins’ safeties struggle in coverage and Mays has proven his ability at controlling the big play.
16. Jacksonville Jaguars: Jerry Hughes OLB TCU – The Jaguars still need help rushing the passer, and Hughes fits the Jaguars hybrid scheme on defense.
17. New York Giants: Rolando McClain LB Alabama – McClain gives the Giants a physical presence who can do it all.
18. Green Bay Packers: C.J. Spiller RB Clemson – The Packers take the BPA in an attempt to help their run game.
19. Atlanta Falcons: Derrick Morgan DE Georgia Tech – Jamaal Anderson is a bust and John Abraham isn’t getting any younger.
20. Houston Texans: Brian Price DT UCLA – Amobi Okoye has struggled early in his career, and the team has no one next to him on the interior.
21. Philadelphia Eagles: Brandon Graham DE Michigan – Graham gives the Eagles a dynamite end and solidifies their defense.
22. Baltimore Ravens: Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma St. – Bryant falls right into their laps where they take the BPA who fits a huge need.
23. Dallas Cowboys: Earl Thomas S Texas – The Cowboys safeties have problems against the pass and Thomas is a great playmaker.
24. Seattle Seahawks: Bryan Bulaga OT Iowa – With Walter Jones likely done, the Seahawks are left with a huge gap at left tackle.
25. San Diego Chargers: Jonathan Dwyer RB Georgia Tech – LaDanian Tomlinson is on the downside of his career, and the team lacks an every down back.
26. Arizona Cardinals: Sergio Kindle OLB Texas – Kindle offers the Cardinals a versatile pass rusher who can drop back into coverage.
27. Pittsburgh Steelers: Jason Fox OT Miami – Fox is a physical tackle who can help protect Ben Roethlisberger while opening holes in the run game.
28. New England Patriots: Greg Hardy DE Ole Miss – The Patriots’ pass rush has struggled as of late, and Hardy can make an impact regardless of scheme.
29. Cincinnati Bengals: Jermaine Gresham TE Oklahoma – The Bengals offense is a tight end away from breaking out.
30. Minnesota Vikings: Nate Allen S USF – Madeiu Williams has struggled and the Vikings secondary needs help.
31. Indianapolis Colts: Patrick Robinson CB Florida St. – Marlin Jackson is a free agent and the team could use some depth at corner.
32. New Orleans Saints: Marvin Austin DT North Carolina – Austin gives New Orleans a run stuffing presence to go next to Sedrick Ellis. Browns picks:
33: Bruce Campbell OT Miami 3a (too lazy to do the math): Thaddeous Gibson DE/OLB Ohio St. 3b: Jon Asmoah OG Illinois
That's all I'm gonna do. Just to let you Buckeye fans know, I've heard Thad Gibson and Chemdi Chekwas are almost certainly leaving early.

If we take a QB in the 1st round ... with the absolute lack of a supporting cast for a QB ... I may give up on this team entirely ...... right after I puke. About a dozen times.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

I hate it, but I think it'll happen.
But we have to address it eventually. IMO there are two reasons not to draft a QB. One is if you don't have a foundation of an offensive line. We have a foundation, so that's invalid. The other is if there isn't a franchise QB. That one's up for debate, but I don't think there is.
This is just a bad draft for us. I wish there was an AP available.

Suh, Berry or trade down and take Kindle or Hughes.
This is a defensive draft and those are the guys to get (only have seen 1 game of Hughes, but he sure looked good and scouting reports are high too....others I have seen multiple times).
Locker #1 overall....sad day.

DT, what are your thoughts on Ingram, the RB out of Alabama? I don't think he'll be out this year, but I've seen enough highlights of him to see that he is a beast. Could he be a true marquee player in the 2011 draft?
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

Absolutely! He posses a rare blend of speed and power. Not to mention you have to be a pretty darn good RB to keep the man-beast Trent Richardson on the bench!

In that mock ..yes..do you see what I did? I went for playmakers first... and I took the best guard in the nation..arguably.. The Browns will have to address some things in FA..OT should be one of those.

Dream on about getting Iupat and Norwood there. I will do the same.
BF: He's legit. He isn't draft eligible though. Best overall running back prospect since AP.
