I only got to see one game (Texas) and he was the most dominant college D-lineman I've ever seen.
you are not going to get much of an argument from me on the dominant DL portion (only Warren Sapp is a guy who I can think of getting into the backfield as easily as Suh).
however, to base such a perception off of one game is usually a fool's errand....luckily, he was just as dominant against VaTech, Iowa State, and Mizzou.
the TX game was his best because of the stage....but I think the Iowa State game was his most impressive if you take the significance away because he nearly willed the Huskers to a win on a day when their offense turned the ball over 8 times. if he would have gotten a safety on one of the 4 times the Huskers turned the ball over inside the Cyclones 5 yard line (and we think the Browns offense can be brutal), I think he would have won the Heisman (and he was extremely close on 3 separate plays).
He's been comparable to that Texas performance all year long. Outside of perhaps Warren Sapp (Miami) I can't think of another DL in my lifetime that has been as dominant..........and I'm closer to 40 than I would like to be..lol.
If we end up with the number 1 pick, and barring us finding out Suh is a member of a Jim Jones suicide cult..........this pick should be a no brainer. He's by far the BPA, and this team is talent starved........a match made in heaven.
Against logic, the most effective armor is willful ignorance.

No one answered when I asked several pages back, but having watched several Alabama games, McClain was a total non-factor....not even on any tackles. Granted it was only a few games, but I see the size, the school, etc...but I don't see a playmaker. What am I missing?
I'm coming home, I'm coming home, tell the world I'm coming home

I personally believe McClain is just the brains of the 3-4 but guys like Donta Hightower last year were the playmakers for them. I have no idea who replaced Hightower this year though.
Look up DTs Jones stats from last years Syracuse- Notre Dame game. He would be a great 3-4 DE. Ive had my eye on that kid ever since that game. Hes in the bottom of the 1st round in most mock drafts. Not a big need for Cleveland and I dont see him coming here. I have a feeling hes going to Pittsburgh and I dont want to see that. Every year I say "I just hope Pittsburgh dont get this guy in the 1st round" it happens. Well it didnt happen last year and the year Arizona too WR Boston one pick before them.
Quote: Suh is the BPA if the Browns have the first pick..
Agreed.
Is there anyone NOT thinking he could be a 3-4 end? Today, all of a sudden, I'm hearing people in the office and on the radio saying he'd only succeed in a 4-3. I disagree . . .

Than we switch to a 4-3...Why not we dont have the Lb for a 3-4 anyway. Suh is a player you adjust a few things for and changing to a 4-3 isnt a bad idea......It's not like we kicked butt with our 3-4
The problem is we're running a two gap 34. Do you want a dynamic athlete running into his defender, making a read then shedding and making a tackle? Do you want that player to be creating opportunities for our linebackers?
Or do you want that player making plays, getting up the field and causing havoc?
Sure a guy like what I hear Suh is could be a fine 34 DE.
But I'd much rather have him creating his own opportunities on the field. It's the same problem that I have with how they're using Rogers and Williams.
I'm hearing people in the office and on the radio saying he'd only succeed in a 4-3. I disagree . . .
Eh..I don't care what those people think..even most scouts right now acknowledge he's a 34 DE..it doesn't mean he can't play a 43..it means his skill and technique fit the bill of a 34 end. And my eyes tell me the same thing.
Our 2gap doesn't allow for linemen to make plays..it's to occupy blockers..thats the Bellyache scheme of the 34..and guess what..we've had two coaches who were tutored by Bellyache.. I prefer the attacking scheme...not the read and react..I want to dictate to the offense not react to what they do.
I've stated before that Suh reminds me a lot of Richard Seymour. So I think Suh would still thrive as a 3-4 DE. Especially with a guy like Rogers next to him.
I am just clickin in here men, since I don't do mocks,...does anybody know exactly what the draft order is if the season ended today, seeing's how we are tied with the Rams and Bucs for "first place."
1) Ndamukong Suh – DE- 6’4 – 300 lbs. – Nebraska This is a tough pick for me, but the more I thought about the Suh vs. Berry debate, the more I thought about Haloti Ngata vs. Kamerion Wimbley debate we have some years ago. Dominant defensive lineman with Suh’s size, strength, and athleticism RARELY come along, and to pass up on this guy would be foolish. He is the best defensive player in the collegiate game, and could even possibly win this year’s Heisman. Suh is the only guy in this year’s draft worth claiming the number one spot. Place Suh next to Shaun Rogers, and watch the fireworks go off. Suh, Welcome to Cleveland. Other options: Eric Berry - S
2) Brandon Spikes – MLB – 6’3 – 244 lbs. – Florida His presence! His tenacity! His determination to wreck havoc on the field! We need this at the ILB spot, and adding him to the lineup with Suh and Rogers up front, Spikes will have open lanes to unload on anybody who chooses to come his way. Spikes is the guy who can put this defense together, and get them playing with a “No Fear” attitude. Spikes, Welcome to Cleveland. Other options: Rolando McClain - MLB
3) A) Ciron Black – T – 6’5 – 322 lbs. – LSU If it is not obvious, we dreadfully need a right tackle. Ciron Black would have been a first round pick easily last year, but his stock has fallen, as often seniors who choose not to leave early normally do. He is a great run blocker, and would be a good fit for this team. He has the experience and leadership to start right away. Black, Welcome to Cleveland. Other options: Sam Young – T, Gabe Carimi – T, Adam Ulatoski –T
B) Jordan Shipley – WR – 6’0 – 195 lbs. – Texas This guy could come in to Cleveland as a slot WR, and could be a go-to-guy for Quinn right from the start. 3rd down conversion, Shipley! TD, Shipley! 30 yard catch, Shipley! The guy can ball, and he could help open this offense up. Not to mention the guy can catch! Quinn, meet Shipley. Shipley, Welcome to Cleveland.
4) A) Sergio Render – G- 6’4 – 324 lbs. – Virginia Tech It is blatantly obvious, that the Browns also need a right guard. Sergio Render in the 4th round would be a steal. He is not light, he is not too heavy, he is the perfect size. Him being able to bench over 400 lbs. is a plus as well. Again, the Browns add a road grader to get down and dirty through 4 quarters of football. Render, Welcome to Cleveland.
B) Nate Allen – S – 6’2 – 205 lbs. – South Florida (from Corey Williams Trade) The South Florida Bulls have started a reputation for producing guys with talent in the secondary. However, Allen could play for anyone else, and still ball out. He has the ability to play the strong spot, or free safety. He has great height, nice speed, and has the ability to get his hands on the ball. Allen could go earlier, but I’m hoping he is still there in the 4th. Allen, Welcome to Cleveland.
5) A) LeGarrette Blount - HB – 6’2 – 240 lbs. – Oregon Blount mad a huge mistake. HUGE!! MONUMENTAL!! But he is young, he is passionate about winning, and I would pick him up on any day of the week, and twice on Tuesdays. The guy is what Jamal Lewis use to be. He can hit the hole hard, break tackles, truck defenders, and last but not least, score points. Blount will have defenses running scared, just hoping he doesn’t come their way. Blount, Welcome to Cleveland.
B) Willie Young – OLB - 6’5 – 250 lbs. – NC State This guy can put pressure on the QB. We need some talented OLB’s who can bring the heat, and Young does that. He’s brings on a huge frame, nice weight, and still is pretty quick on his feet. He will make a name for himself in the NFL. Young, Welcome to Cleveland.
C) Kam Chancellor – S – 6’4 – 225 lbs. – Virginia Tech This guy hits like Sean Taylor, hits like Troy P, hits like Ed Reed, and man o man when his career is over, he will have one heck of a highlight reel. A No Fear kind of guy who takes pleasure in knocking guys lights out. Eric Berry would bring the athleticism, but Chancellor brings chaos!!! Oh My Gosh this guy can hit! O yeah, Check out his size. We need to add safeties because having Furrey playing safety to me is suspect. Chancellor, Welcome to Cleveland.
6) A) Jon Asamoah – G – 6’4 – 315 lbs. – Illinois Asamoah is a talented offensive lineman who has been one of the guys leading the way for Juice Williams and Arrelious Benn. THREE years experience now at right guard, and he has size, strength, and excellent mobility, which are top qualities in any lineman. Asamoah is going to get lots of talk come closer to draft time, but as a guard, won’t get drafted too high. Asamoah, Welcome to Cleveland.
B) Jerome Murphy – CB – 6’1 – 185 lbs. – South Florida Fast as light, and has a knack for getting to the ball. He will also get some attention because of his 40 time, and the fact that he plays for South Florida. Luckily for the Browns, even if we don’t get this guy, we have three talented corners in Wright, BMac, and Francies. Just ditch the vets who aren’t contributing, and throw this rookie in there to the wolves. Murphy, Welcome to Cleveland.
7) Kade Weston – DT 6’5 – 322 lbs. – Georgia We must add another big ugly into the mix. Weston is huge, and will be a good guy to put in there to let the starters catch a breather. Robaire Smith is getting older, Williams will not be here, and a few other guys aren’t worthy of a roster spot. Weston adds size and strength to the defensive line to make them even more aggressive. I likes. Weston, Welcome to Cleveland.
I don't see a chance of Nate Allen making it out of the 2nd, and I highly doubt Kam Chancellor or Jon Asomoah make it out of the 3rd. Rolando McClain isn't an option in the 2nd. He's an option if we trade back to the 10th pick, but not much more than that. I also don't think we will draft Suh, but I won't criticize that, because it is possible.
Man I love that draft. Could maybe use a TE in there somewhere unless Moore is the real deal. Hope it happens but kind of doubtful with Mangini calling the shots.
Hey DT, I know you know your college ball pretty good, where does Golden Tate fall in this draft....I think putting him in the slot would be a pretty nice pickup for us.....especially if we do get weiss
too bad we have too many other needs to consider that move.....I just hope we dont botch this draft....and I would love to get Blount in the 5th round as i seen on a previous mock
I could see a team that is desperate for Suh willing to give a lot, and considering that there isn't a ton of talent at the top, yeah I do. It's never likely that a team will trade out of the 1st pick, but who knows.
Tubby: I'm not a Tate fan. There are many other guys that I'd prefer, but there are some who would love to have him.

I say late first round. Maybe to the Pats since they need some WR depth or the Cowboys for the same reason.
