I was watching to see if there was a lot of empty seats at the beginning of the game... I didn't see a anymore seats empty than any other game.

Will someone that was there last night speak up and tell us, did it look like Dawgpound Mike and Mobiledawg got thier wish?

they kept bringing the camera over to DP Mike several times last night..

it's a shame,, these guys tried to make a joke of the fans here in cleveland.. I'm glad the protest seemed to have failed..

I should go check out thier site to see if they say it succeeded...LOL

I loved that DP Mike was so upset that we took a knee going into the half, even though we were tied 0-0 and deep in our own territory.

I thought the stadium seemed rather empty at the start. I thought it was still on. Then again, why would people want to hurry to their seats to watch this team? I'm surprised 1,000 people showed up.

On a long enough timeline, we'll be good again.

my understanding was that, after the meeting with lerner, they urged fans to stay in their seats.

I was there, if protest was going on, you could have fooled me. Not suprising the stadium was not full, I should have stayed home myself.

no, it's in the other thread....apparently Lerner sitting down and talking with them wasn't good enough for whatever reason.

they wanted Lerner to sit down with "all" the fans (I guess a press conference?) and apparently his email interview wasn't good enough either.

Nope, not according to DP Mikes website: http://www.dawgpoundmike.com/

it's pretty clear by that that the intent was to carry forward on the protest..

I'm sorry guys, I saw the stands as they showed them on TV,, and frankly, I couldn't tell the difference between last night and any other Home games

it's not like it used to be here.. used to be, you were in your seat 1/2 hour before kick off..

The games aren't really about football anymore (and I'm not sure they have been for a while). It's more about tailgating and getting drunk.

I remember it being that way in 2007, too, when we were competitive.

I'm always in my seat before kickoff, but most people aren't.

I was at the game, and there were pretty much the same number of fans in their seats prior to kickoff as there were 5 minutes after.

I looked for it purposely and didn't notice a difference.

That hump (DPM) said he estimated he was going to have 42000 protesters on sports talk cleveland last week. He had 1000 or so hits on his youtube instuctions to his minions. The Real fans dont miss kickoff had that many on facebook.

When I walked up, I asked the FOx 8 crew were the protest was. They said right here. Where's the 42000? They laughed.

It looked the same as always. The people in the 500's get to the gate 15 minutes before kickoff and never make it in time. The lower bowl was well stocked.

The best part, was seeing that douche walk in late, and the crowd chanting "a-hole" and pointing at him. There was also a resounding boo across the stadium.

It is funny, that he sent out an email saying he had thousands lined up to all the media outlets before he announced this. That got him the run on all the show. Then he has an EPIC FAIL when game time came.

I was shaking my head too. Not at the play, but that DP Mike is that stupid to think we should do something other than take a knee at that point.

These kinds of protests never work out, I can't believe this guy got as much press as he did over this.

I can't say for sure Jules, But I bet you the reason DP Mike got so much run is because the Press is anxious to get a crack at Lerner in an interview as well.. My guess is that they hoped this "protest" would smoke Lerner out so he could be confronted.

I'm very glad he didn't fall for it..

that is a shame..... he does't represent my feelings..

this is what his website says now:

Quote:

THANKS TO ALL THE SUPPORTERS ON MONDAY NIGHT AT THE GAME. ALSO THANKS TO ALL THE EMAILS AND THE COMMENTS. I WILL NOT STOP...I WILL CONTINUE TO FIGHT FOR THESE ISSUES TO BE FIXED. THANKS AND GO BROWNS AND GO BROWNS FANS!!

By all accounts, he didn't get the 42000 folks to sit out like he professed.. and last I heard, he had a couple thousand emails by browns fans that think he's doing the right thing...

Let's see.. I wonder how many browns fans there are.. last I heard, there were about 200 or more Browns Backers clubs around the world,, gotta have at least what,, 40 members avg per club... that seems like not a lot.. something is wrong with my math or my info

And what,, 70000 or so come to the games, then there are folks like me that aren't a member of a BB club or go to the games,, gotta be a millon of us..

and he gets 2000 emails and thinks he speaks for us.. What a joke.

i just don't get it.

the dude acts like randy lerner is one of the dolans or one of the countless other owners in sports who really only care for the bottom line, i really believe randy lerner cares and wants the browns to be good and would probably take that over any kind of profit. i really think he wants his father's wishes to become true, the guy just needs help. he is making decisions that a president-type should be making.

he just needs to hire a guy to make all these important decisions. then he can sit back with his checkbook open to make whatever moves necessary. it isn't rocket science. and i truly believe he is going to make that move before next season.

I agree with you LBJ,,

This is a wealthy man,, owns a team, doesn't know the ins and outs of running the football side of things (meaning he couldn't pick or coach players himself) but wants to have a winner.

He's only got two jobs,, find the right guys to run the football side and write the checks, that's it. that's his job and thus far, he's not been successful at the first part of that.

I've said it before, some fans may have had other candidates they might have preferred, but if you look at those guys he's hired, Collins, Savage, RAC, Mangini and Kokinis, there isn't anything in thier backgrounds that was a clear indication that they wouldn't get the job done.

Nothing they had done prior would lead anyone to believe they were bad hires....

yet, they failed to accomplish the task at hand.

So, the way I see it, Lerner has 2 choices,,,1 Give up and sell the team or 2 Keep trying to find the right top guy,,

One thing that Lerner has always done.. he's hired folks and let them do thier jobs. Each of them so far have taken the money and not done thier jobs well.. that's why we are where we are as a team..

I'm glad Lerner isn't a quitter..I'm glad he seems hell bent on finding the right guy at the top.. go Randy....

At first I didn't have a problem with the protest.

Until Mike started opening his big mouth. I DO like his ideas for stadium improvements. But man, he comes off as an absolute buffoon. He sounds like he's drunk ranting every time.

I've exchanged a few tweets with him the past few days and generally I think he's a fool. He doesn't respond when I call him out on something and his responses to me are twisted.

Basically, he's as dumb as a Jets fan.

If he wants a winner, why did he hire Mangini without interviewing anyone else?
