Just to remind everyone in spite of our differences...they still could use our help. My girl and I have sent over 65 lbs. of the things that these brave boys and girls have asked for (and some they haven't). No matter what your view of the war is....they still want and need our support....please help...you can pick and chose who and where you want your *gifts* to go but they ALL need something. No matter how small it is all greatly appreciated...

I've been helping our local VFW put together care packages for the troops. Almost all of them do it. Things that they need and things that they want. Just a reminder that us folks back home are behind them. There's no greater thing we can do during a time of war IMO

My issues have NEVER been with the troops. I support them wholeheartidly and pray daily God will keep them out of harms way.

Had a buddy of mine and a friend of the wife both received a couple bottles of ' Listerene' whenever they wanted it . Seems they have no decent mouthwash in that part of the world. My buddy is due to go back next year and already made me promise to keep the mouthwash coming. Least I can do.

Never send soap with food. Friends have told me that the food in the care package takes on the taste of soap somehow. Yuk!

I live close to Patrick Air Force Base and try to target those young men and women (bad choice of words, eh?) for our packages. They run a search and rescue squad over there. Last week we had two of the men stop by our house and thank us for what we had sent. The funny thing is that forget the easymac, the socks, the anti-persperant(sp), and everything else...they loved the COMIC BOOKS we sent. Something to get them away for a while, they said....

WTG beach! Thats a great thing you are doing. On the old board Blade and I got together a drive during the Lions game and collected something like 20+ boxes of goodies and supplies to send my buddy stationed with the 3rd ID in Baquaba. He was so shocked and happy to get that it made his tour. They had it rough too.
We were thinking about doing it again around the holidays but I was real busy and didn't have time to throw something together,

Congrats on supporting the troops. We send packages out every 2 weeks. It is amazing some of the things we take for granted that these brave soldiers can't get. We will continue to do so as long as they are over their doing a difficult and obviously thankless job.
