Yes, outside of the Big Ten, football is still being played


Big game for my team this week. Tennessee at Kentucky.

If we can pull off the win against Tennessee we'll be going to the Outback Bowl most likely, but the Cotton Bowl has even shown some interest in us if we beat Tennessee Saturday!

Q: Where was OJ going in his white Bronco?
A; Tennessee, because they'd never look for a Heisman winner there!


What games are you guys looking forward to?

oregon v. oregon state

might be the best matchup so far this season....extremely athletic and fast beaver defense vs. extremely athletic and fast oregon offense. this game is always entertaining from a rivalry aspect and this 'Civil War for the Roses' game is going to be completely insane.

clemson v. south carolina

I have thought SoCar has been overrated all year....I have thought Clemson has been underrated all year. Always fun to find out if you were right about teams.

texas a&m v. texas

Colt McCoy and the UT Seniors are 1-2 vs. A&M. I expect a blowout, but they have been the dominant team the past 3 years and that is the record.....A&M does have a good offense, so potential for upset (still miniscule, but it's there).

Utah v. BYU

Just a fun game between 2 good teams.

West Virginia vs Pittsburgh should be good.

Florida State at Florida

Notre Dame at Stanford


All should be good games.

The big game for me personally is Friday afternoon - The Battle of I-75. Toledo at Bowling Green... should be a lot of offense, Toledo can't stop the pass, BG can't stop the run

Even if Auburn holds on, I don't think it really shakes anything up.

I think Bama could lose today, and Florida could lose to Florida State. And Texas could lose to Nebraska, and I think the NC game is STILL the Florida/Bama winner vs. Texas.

How many catches does Freddie Barnes have? I saw on yahoo that he was about 13 away from breaking the NCAA record.

4:30 to go in the 3rd and my boys are battlin back! 24-17 BG on top right now. Apparently it was 21-0 less than 5 minutes into the game because of a series of complete special teams breakdowns.

Barnes right now 6 catches for 41 yards and a touchdown.

Watching Suh play these last few games, I will be irate if he's on the board and we don't take him. He is just such a dominate player in the trenches.

His combo of size, speed and athleticism is just tailor-made for the 3-4. Put him next to Rodgers and we could really have something up front.

I know we need help on the backend as well, so I wouldn't mind Berry but Suh just looks like he's special.

I think Pike would be a nice pickup for the Browns if hes there in the 4th or 5th round. I think he could be a 2nd round pick if it wasnt for having a steel plate in his non throwing arm. As the 3rd QB, he could add a little bit of weight on the sidelines and be a good QB down the road. Hes like DA with way more touch but maybe not as athletic.

Also, I wouldnt mind having WR Mardy Gilyard. I think he would be a nice pickup in the later rounds. Especially if he is there in the 5th or 6th round. Its not a big draft for WRs so he might go higher.

Cincys TE Ben Guidugli is a blocking TE in a spread offense and should be considered in the later rounds. Im not sure if he is a senior though. A TE in the draft is almost a must with Royal; Gaines; the white guy thats not Heidon; and I dont think Steve Heidon can be counted on to contribute at a high level for a whole season.

Cincinnati vs. Illinois


CINCINNATI -- Tony Pike answered all the questions six times over.

The senior quarterback returned from a major injury to his non-throwing arm and had a record day Friday, passing for six touchdowns in a 49-36 victory over Illinois that kept fifth-ranked Cincinnati unbeaten.

And now, back at full strength.

"Words can't describe how amazing this feels," Pike said.

Cincinnati (11-0) remained one of six unbeaten Bowl Subdivision teams, ranked fifth in the BCS standings. The Bearcats finish their regular season next weekend in Pittsburgh, playing for their second straight Big East championship.

"I wouldn't say it was easy to get to 11-0, but 11-0 is not going to matter if we lose to Pittsburgh, and the guys know this," said senior Mardy Gilyard, who caught two touchdown passes and ran back a kickoff for a score. "If we take care of business, the rest is up to the voters and the computers, whatever else is out there, to figure out what we do with the postseason."

Pike had the biggest hand in the latest win.






He hadn't started since Oct. 15, when he damaged a protective plate in his left arm. He needed surgery to replace the plate, and didn't start any of the previous four games. He got into a 24-21 win over West Virginia for four snaps, and threw for a pair of touchdowns in his very limited role.

Would he be sharp in his return as a starter? Could he take a hit? He answered the questions with one sensational half.

Yes, and yes.

Pike threw a career-high four touchdowns in the first half alone while leading the Bearcats to a 35-20 lead. He was knocked to the ground twice by the Illini (3-8), the second time when he stayed in the pocket long enough to get off an 11-yard touchdown pass to Gilyard.

The Bearcats were a more balanced team when sophomore backup Zach Collaros ran the offense in Pike's absence. They abandoned any pretense of the run Friday, handing off only four times in the first three quarters.

"We knew we had to throw the ball to win today, and that was the plan all week," coach Brian Kelly said. "We were going to throw it all over the ballpark today."

Pike finished 32 of 46 for 399 yards. On the season, he has thrown 23 touchdowns with only three interceptions.

He even ran a quarterback draw to show the arm wouldn't hold him back.

"It felt fine today," Pike said. "It feels great now."

The Illini couldn't handle a spread offense that's better than anything they would see in the Big Ten. Cincinnati had 35 points in the first half alone -- as many as the Illini allowed in any full Big Ten game this season.

"Historically, you think about a Big Ten team and the Big Ten conference -- it's going to be a power running conference," Pike said. "Obviously we knew Illinois is a team that's built to stop the run. We felt we could exploit some things in the passing game."

Right from the start, Cincinnati's playmakers had their way.

"You go into a game trying to make them pass," Illinois defensive coordinator Dan Disch said. "That may be a mistake against them. We gave up too many big plays."

Gilyard, the Big East's top receiver, ran back a kickoff 90 yards for Cincinnati's first score -- the third kickoff return for a touchdown of his career. He also had seven catches for 102 yards, including a one-hand TD catch at the back of the end zone.

The senior became Cincinnati's career leader in touchdown catches. He had only one while Pike -- whom he calls "Pistol" for his strong arm -- was away.

"I knew that having Pistol back, running and gunning and slinging all over the place, I knew it was going to come eventually," Gilyard said.

The Illini had particular problems covering tight end Ben Guidugli, who is primarily a blocker in Cincinnati's spread offense. He repeatedly ran uncovered through the secondary, catching a career-high six passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns in the first half alone.

Pike's fifth touchdown pass put Cincinnati up 42-20 in the third quarter and tied the school record set by Gino Guidugli -- the older brother of the tight end -- who watched from the stands as his record fell.

"He was happy because I was part of it," Ben Guidugli said. "I don't think he has any bad feelings about it."

Illinois also got its starting quarterback back from injury. Juice Williams missed most of the past two games with an injured left ankle. He threw for three touchdowns and ran for another, but couldn't match Cincinnati's breakneck scoring pace. Williams also became only the sixth player in Big Ten history to top 10,000 career combined yards.

"It's a blessing," Williams said. "Not too many people have ever done it. There have been a lot of great players that played this game. I will sit back and enjoy that once my career is over."

All you need to do is watch College Gameday to understand why Timmy Tebow should be a Cleveland Brown.

But, haters gonna hate I guess.

All you need to do is watch him throw the ball to see why he isn't a QB. Please do continue to ignore everyone who says he isn't an NFL QB (Toad, Vers, Diam, Mel Kiper, Scott Wright).

And I am far from a Tebow "hater". I think he's a great guy who's done a lot of good. Doesn't mean he's a quarterback.

Makes me sick that if Lindley had played against South Carolina, and if we hadn't laid an egg against Miss State, we could be going for win number 10 today vs. Tennessee, instead of win number 8.

I agree that Tebow isn't going to be a successful QB, unless he's given two or three years on the bench, with a good coaching staff around him. But to use Mel Kiper's name as a plus to your argument is not a good thing. That guy is a fool.

Mel Kiper is a great evaluator of talent. He struggles in predicting picks.

I gotta say, I wouldn't mind having Noel Devine on this team as a kick/punt returner/slot receiver/3rd down back. He seems like he can do anything he wants on a football field
