So he's a golfer - some say the best ever. And he wrecked his car? And the earth stops?

The earth has stopped for much less Arch... It's not that he wrecked his car, it's the whole secrecy of how and why he wrecked his car that is the reason for the media... if he swerved to avoid a deer and hit a tree this would have been a 3 day story, he wrecked, he's ok, he isn't playing in his tournament this week.. done. Throw in potential domestic disturbance and the silence and you get a media onslaught... Heck the media stops for 6 months every time Brett Favre farts, surely Tiger can get a couple weeks out of it.

I guess I keep wondering why any of this matters.. he damaged his own property,, he wasn't drunk or under the influence so the cops have said,, Tell me why it matters if he will or won't talk to the cops..

Because if this happaned to any one of us, we wouldnt be allowed to leave until we did talk to the cops. It dont really matter to me myself. As soon as I read the original story, I knew there was more to it.

Let me see if I got this straight....

With all the great pros on the PGA, the last person to swing a golf club and beat Tiger is his wife?

Well, as funny as that is, I'm still more shocked that Yang Yong-eun beat Tiger at the PGA.

And this story isn't news, it's gossip. And gossip is what it is.

Not true.. not true at all,, there isn't anything a cop can do to you if you back into a tree or hit it head on on your property.. as long as you didn't kill anyone, injure anyone but yourself and weren't in a drunken state or appeared drugged up...

So all you as John Q. Citizen had to do is refuse to speak to the police.. Period.. Now, your insurance company,,,that's different

It was Phil Mickelson! That's how it ended up in the trees!

That isn't true, and he was in the streets. Private streets or not, they still fall under the laws of the state.

I think he could face obstruction of justice charges. You don't have the right to an attorney in a traffic investigation, yet he is insisting on allowing his attorney do all of his talking and refusing to answer some simple questions....he could face others if they wanted to squeeze the guy...reckless driving, failure to maintain control of your vehicle....it isn't beyond reason they could somehow bring DUI charges if there is a blood trail at the hospital. The state could get those blood results if they wanted to jump through a few hoops.

THey made it clear that he is NOT required to provide the police with any statement,, so either you or the media is incorrect...

I believe that Florida law doesn't require him to speak with the police in this type of incident. Yes? No?

What's the difference between a car and a golf ball?

Tiger can drive a ball over 300 yards.

Can't believe how pathetic the FHP is looking on their "press conference."

They are essentially hocking their goods of selling information about the accident.

Tiger gets a ticket. Case closed.

Tiger Woods wins. The media loses.

Yeah, case is closed. As far as they are concerned it's a traffic violation, so they can't go much further in investigating it without probable cause. They handed out all the traffic fines they could, and that's about all they could do.

What's the difference between Tiger on the course and off the course?

On the course he wraps his club around a tree and hands it back the Caddy.

Off the course he wraps his Caddy around a tree and gets his backside handed to him with a club.

The case may be closed with the FHP.. but something tells me it's just beginning with Mrs. Woods... I sincerely hope that they can work through the issues together...

Woods says he lets family down
By DOUG FERGUSON, AP Golf Writer

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP)—Tiger Woods said he let his family down with “transgressions” he regrets “with all of my heart,” and that he will deal with his personal life behind closed doors.

His statement Wednesday follows a cover story in Us Weekly magazine that reports a Los Angeles cocktail waitress claims she had a 31-month affair with the world’s No. 1 golfer.

“I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves,” Woods said on his Web site . “I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.”

Woods did not offer details of any alleged relationship.

The cocktail waitress, Jaimee Grubbs, told the magazine she met Woods at a Las Vegas nightclub the week after the 2007 Masters—two months before Woods’ wife, Elin, gave birth to their first child. Grubbs claims to have proof in 300 text messages.

About three hours before Woods’ statement, the magazine published what it said was a voicemail—provided by Grubbs—that Woods left her phone on Nov. 24, three days before his middle-of-the-night car crash outside his home in Florida.

“I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart,” he said.

“I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves,” Woods said. “For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology.”

Woods has been subjected to more media scrutiny over the last week than when he first won the Masters in 1997 and set off the first wave of Tigermania. He has spoken only three times through his Web site, although this was his longest posting.

“Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means,” Woods said. “For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives.”

And he continued to say accounts that physical violence played a role in his Friday morning car crash were “utterly false and malicious.”

“Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect,” he wrote.

His statement came one day after the Florida Highway Patrol closed its investigation into the accident—without Woods ever speaking to state troopers. He was charged with careless driving, which carries a $164 fine and four points on his driving record.

The story soon shifted from a patrol investigation to sordid allegations into his personal life.

In the voicemail released by the magazine, a man says to Grubbs:

“Hey, it’s, uh, it’s Tiger. I need you to do me a huge favor. Um, can you please, uh, take your name off your phone. My wife went through my phone. And, uh, may be calling you. If you can, please take your name off that and, um, and what do you call it just have it as a number on the voicemail, just have it as your telephone number. That’s it, OK. You gotta do this for me. Huge. Quickly. All right. Bye.”

The Associated Press could not confirm Woods was the caller.

There's not much hope for Tiger as a husband if he's married to a Swedish bikini model and still can't keep his pants zipped up around other women. Not good, not good at all Tiger.

Here's the full statement:

Quote:

I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.

Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.

But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don't share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one's own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn't have to mean public confessions.

Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it's difficult.

I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology.

Looks like the prying media got him afterall.

And my friends and family wonder why I despise the media.

As for Tiger, nice going, hypocrite.

He got on his high-horse about how the integrity of the PGA Tour can't make an exception for Doug Barron, who for years has taken medicine to help maintain his bodies chemical levels and even came to the PGA tour ahead of time to ask permission to continue taking medicine prescribed by real doctors.

At least Doug Barron didn't live in his hypocritical bubble while throwing his holier-than-thou attitude around.

Cheating on a girlfriend or boyfriend is bad enough, but once you finally settle down into a committed relationship as an adult, it's time to be one.

I doubt I can root for Tiger from here on out. In fact, I know I can't.

Maybe it's just the fact that his pregnant wife is carrying his child, and he's out screwing a cocktail waitress.

That sickens me..................

Now you gotta wonder...................If he was screwin' one chick, isn't it likely that he was bangin' more than one?

If he did, it'll come out.

I wonder what your dad would think about this, Tiger...................
