I live near Cleveland and was going down a road today. I was going about 35, 38 or so...in a 35 mph zone. I went through a yellow light and I thought I saw a flash out of the corner of my right eye. I knew the intersection was a camera intersection, but at the same time, I'm not sure if I have grounds to fight it because it was yellow and not red at the time. I then looked in my mirror but the cameras showed nothing...did they flash fast and I just not see them? how long do they flash?

doe these cameras get you even if the back of your car is in the intersection when the light turns red? i was not speeding--it is a red light issue.

how long does the traffic light last? a man I talked to with the PD says the cameras flash 3 times.

All of those are reviewed, I doubt you will get a ticket. If you do it means the picture will show you clearly ran the light. The law is that if you are across the stop line when the light goes red then you are not running the light.

I have had the cameras flash on me when I really had to jam the brakes because the light was malfunctioning and went from green to red with only half a second of yellow in between. I did not get a ticket.

Not sure about how many flashes, but the cameras will get anyone who is borderline.

I have a lot of police officers as friends and they all despise the camera at an intersection, actually. It's nothing more than a cash grab for the city.

If you thought you saw a flash, more than likely you got "caught".

Sure there wasn't a group or tourists on the corner taking photos?

car was going 36 in a 35, so speed wasn't an issue. didn't slow down or speed up--remained constant through the light.
was yellow as I entered intersection. had it been red i would be def. screwed. it probably turned red as my car was underneath the light housing itself.

Get some clear plate covers, spray them with a clear glossy spray paint and see if the cameras can still clearly make out your plate.

so as long as I was past the stop bar when the light turned red i'm fine. thanks.

if you get a ticket, which it sounds like you won't, go and complain. a firefighter i know said the town he works in removed the cameras due to a large number of complaints.

also, with those intersection cameras, make sure you stop for at least 3 seconds before making a right on a red light. you're technically supposed to stop for 2.78 seconds (i know, stupid)

Yep ... doesn't work as the Mythbusters showed, plus depending on the state it may be illegal anyway.

i've seen some of those cameras that also flash for no reason whatso ever.... there would be no cars in the intersection and booom.. flash flash flash.. soo that could be the case as well... or it could have been someone else.. maybe turning right on red without stopping.
