Besides World Peace and the end to hunger, what do you guys want for Christmas? I'm having a hard time telling people that ask this year...seems I'm pretty happy with what I have. I do want a hardshell hand gun case to store my binoculars in. You should see the strange looks I get when I mention this one. I can already tell it's something I'll have to buy myself.

If you pass the list on to my wife, I'll tell ya.
Just kidding.
I'm a handyman, so I always have plenty of ideas to throw around. My new tactic, since I've finally advanced to "today's " technology, is walking around snapping pictures with my camera phone, then downloading them to The Old Lady and my son.
The Home Depot people think I'm doing mystery price comparisons.
What I think would be neat would be for every Marine in Afghanistan to come home (unrealistic), or be allowed to be in contact with someone at home from over there. Not another single casualty would be better than ever seeing the Browns in a Super Bowl.

A cure for all diseases...
Seriously, John and I already have our gift to each other. When he turned 40 (in November), I gave hima trip to Florida to be taken in March. The $$ we would have spent on each other for Christmas is being put aside for this trip.

I'd like my dad to be able to get a job for Christmas.
As for myself, nothing major I'm looking for, probably just looking for DVD's of the newer movie releases(Star Trek, Transformers, etc).

This will be the first year since they were born we won't have any of the kids here, so we are just scaling back...just the small tree and not the big one. I don't really want anything....my son left his X box here for me to play with...I may go get a boxing game so I have something to fool around with on Christmas morning. Truth be known, I have more crap than I can shake a stick at. Rather than adding more, I really need to start giving some away. What do you use the binoculars for?? Stargazing or viewing the heavenly bodies next door??

I rarely ask for anything special... the wife is the one who does that (which bugs me a little because the fun for me is surprising her with gifts she wouldn't have thought of). She usually buys good presents without me asking. The only request I made this year was a gift card to a music store so I can buy guitar strings and stuff. I told her "No clothes!" cuz my closet is friggin' overflowing. I would ask for a new guitar but I already have three. However, I need, absolutely need a 12-string. And a Strat.

Thanks for that post Lamp,....I forgot about the "musician" side of my list. They got me 2 of those little 8" crash cymbals like Neil has, so I can pretend I'm Peart,....so I need to ask for the bass drum mounted stands for them to free up my booms for other stuff.

Most of what I want - no, ALL of what I want is too expensive for a Christmas gift. Plus, it's a want, not a need.
Add to that that when I want something, if I can justify it, I get it. When I want it. And often times even if I can justify it in my own mind, I still don't get it. A gps for my 4 wheeler is one thing that fits in that category. Want one, and even though I can justify it, I can't justify it if that makes sense. For what it would cost - and the use I'd get out of it - not worth it. And if I did get one, then I'd have to spend money on trips to use it.
Tools - I have what I need. There's always a want - but to spend even $100 on something I may not use for a year - not worth it to me.
I could use tires on my car, but how do tell, say, a mother in law, that's what you want for Christmas?
Clothes? Heck no. I have too many.
Then, throw in the "pressure" of Christmas.......too many places to be, and everyone wants to have it on Christmas eve, or Christmas day. We have 4 on Christmas day this year. 4. Which ones do we skip? None, if we want to keep peace in the family and not cause hard feelings. But it sure makes it hard for me to look forward to Christmas.
In fact, I love what Christmas means, but I hate how hectic it is. Hate it, despise it, and haven't looked forward to it for the last 17 years. The only one I'll truly enjoy is ours: me, my wife, my son, and my daughter.
I'll have a good time at the others, but I won't enjoy myself.

Gift certificate on Continental Airlines so I may use it to fly down to New Orleans next year for the Browns-Saints game (then spend the $250 I would've paid for the airline ticket on booze, hurricanes, and hand grenades )

I really dont ask for anything, my wife just buys gifts, She doesnt really ask for anything either, I normally have no idea what to get her, I walk around the mall looking at everything I think she might like and every x-mas I get the same look and she says "You really dont know me,do you?" We have been married for 9 years and I think I got a gift she wanted once since we were married. Happy Holidays Everyone!!

Every year I ask for the same thing: Gift card to either: Lowes or Home Depot Best Buy Barnes and Noble There is no need for anyone to search high an low for anything, I'll get what I want/need later. . . . For us, Xmas is about family and relaxing, and most importantly God. NOT stressing out over gifts. But if anyone is feeling up to it, a Red Ryder BB Gun will make daddy very happy!

Okay, gotta say it. My wife, daughter, sis in law and nephew were out shopping a few weeks ago. My daughter saw a pink bb gun (obviously, they were in the sporting goods part of the store, so I'm getting something from there),,,,,,,,,but, she saw the pink bb gun and loved it.
My wife is perceptive, and so is my sis in law....my wife took the kids somewhere else, and my sis in law bought the bb gun for my daughter!!! She's getting a pink bb gun for Christmas.
I can't wait!!!!!

We have done this for years, one good gift and possibly one or two little "needs" things. My daughters have landed over these last few years a shotgun, a Marlin 17 rifle (yes they hunt n shoot), Garmin GPS and a digital camera. All gifts still in use today!

Got my Christmas present Thursday Seriously, I don't need anything else. I have no clue what I want. Don't need anything to be honest, but since I had to give out a list, I started grasping at stuff. Gave a couple PS3 games out to be had, a couple movies on Blu Ray, never had an electric shaver so I asked for one since shaving with a razor tears up my neck. I refuse to shave every day and just do it every other. If I can get away with it, I don't shave unless I have to for work, etc because my neck gets all tore up. Didn't really need clothes, but I picked out some from my in-laws as well as a pair of Timbalands. Asked for a pic of LBJ dunking from the wifey to put in the bar. While I was shopping for others, I smelled cologne by Kenneth Cole called Reaction: T-Shirt. Stuff smelled GREAT. I had the limited edition Reaction: Thermal from the other year. That was really it.

not really on my list but thought it was kinda funny... Reindeer dung ornaments, jewelry net Ill. zoo $20K BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Necklaces and Christmas ornaments made from dime-sized pieces of reindeer droppings have earned a Bloomington, Ill., zoo nearly $21,000 this holiday season. The Miller Park Zoological Society made about $5,000 selling reindeer-dropping ornaments last year. It added necklaces this year when customers asked if jewelry was available. The reindeer droppings are dehydrated, sterilized and spray-painted with glitter. They're called "Magical Reindeer Gems." The ornaments cost $7.50 at the zoo's gift shop or $10 by mail. The necklaces sold for $15 at the gift shop, or $20 by mail. The zoological society says the ornaments and necklaces sold nationwide. Requests also came in from other countries, but federal regulations don't allow reindeer droppings to be exported. link

exactly....reindeer droppings cannot be exported under any circumstance.
however, reindeer urine can be exporting if you pay the associated export taxes, fill out forms X32 and H14, but not D55 (obviously).....and it is not between nov15th to february 25th.
if it is between nov15th and february 25th, then you need to fill out forms I16 and J13. if you fill out X32 and H14 between these days, then you will be given a large fine and still not allowed to export your reindeer urine.
of course that is just the legal aid synopsys version.

there wasn't anything i really wanted. everything i do want is way too expensive (speakers for living room, a few pieces of hockey equipment) to ask.
i wouldn't mind being able to get home for christmas although i am really worried that may not happen. i have to work tomorrow, i have no idea when i get out, and i don't know how crappy the roads are gonna be.
i have been at my grandmothers every christmas eve for 28 years and i'm going to be heartbroken if i can't get there this time.

I want the people of Iran to rise up and overthrow their oppressive government, then I want the people of America to rise up and overthrow their oppressive government.
Personally, I'd like Sunday Ticket next year, and a huge TV to watch it on. After that, I want my kids to be happy with what daddy clause gets them.
