I'd say it has more to do with respect for his teammates, coaches, and the fans. Most players in a bowl don't announce they will leave prior to the bowl, seems logical to me.
Statistics are like a bikini; what they show is interesting, but what they hide is vital. Drive for show (1st round), Putt for dough (rest of draft).
Gerald McCoy is skipping his senior season. I have seen a lot more of Suh than McCoy so I don't know much about him. No huge surprise, but the DT class just got a little deeper.
Stl #1, People will list them as taking a QB, but I don't think they will, since none are worthy. However worse decisions have been made by other teams also. They take Suh.
TB #2, If STL doesn't take Suh, he goes here, if STL takes Suh, Berry goes here. Outside shot at Gerald McCoy being the pick.
Det #3, If somehow Berry is still there, now he goes, unless they choose Gerald McCoy, which is possible.
CLEVELAND #4, almost no chance for Berry, but it is still VERY early to really say or know for sure. Gerald McCoy is the leading candidate, I hope we don't go QB, unless picking 8 or later.
Okung is a wildcard in this, he could slip in as one of the top 3's picks, however unlikely that Stl would take him.

Assuming your scenarios play out as stated, this is my pick.
I like Spikes though too, but this is probably too high a spot for him.
I did not do my homework yet, but #29 from Rutgers last night was laying the wood,....
As of this moment, late games not calculated into the winning %, that will be the order.
I like your scenario, and hope it happens that way. Det taking Okung makes the most sense to me, they need to protect their QB. However I just can't see any QB worth the #1 overall, so Stl may not either, but they need one in the worst way. Hopefully they will be stupid enough to follow the media, who always trump up some QB to be #1. If McCoy (Colt) wins the bowl game he might be that sweetheart.

I like it, but if we're picking at 5, I think we can still get Berry. If he's not there, I want McClain, then Haden.
I'm gonna make a new mock soon. Maybe even a 2 rounder. I'm sure you guys are all anxiously awaiting, and will struggle to sleep in anticipation for the coming awesomeness.
I'm definitely not willing to go far enough to say he will be a Brown, but I hope so. I think the top 4 will consist of Suh, McCoy, Okung, and one of the QB's. If we're not in the top 4, that is.
While I like Berry he isn't the only safety in this draft who could step in and play better than what the Browns currently have.. If Spiller is in that top five he has to be considered also.. Why? Big play production and speed..something the Browns do not have on offense...Think of Chris Johnson of the Titans..but with a faster gear..plus he 's a threat to catching the ball out of the backfield and will create nightmares for LB's trying to cover him.
Having said that ,there are a glut of backs that should be there in the second/third rounds, my targets being Matthews/Dixon/Scott..not saying CJ should be the target but I'd have to think hard if he and Berry are sitting there.
My other trump card is if Joe Haden comes out...even though a JR.,at CB he's better than anything starting right now..I need to see McFlurry relegated to the nickle...our corners are awful. To run a attacking 34 you need corners who can play on a island.
Why? He's a good pass blocker, can catch, he's played in a pro style offense, he beat out some damn good runningbacks for the starting job, he is a burner, he can play special teams as a returner and he's not afraid to pound the ball inside.
Assuming Holmgren is running things soon. What does that do to our draft? I know it's a little early for trying to figure out what kind of philosophy he would want to incorporate but as far as I know he has never been a part of a team that ran the 3/4 defense and he is a big proponent of the WCO.
I also know that when he was here in GB he and Ron Wolfe had a history of drafting a QB in the later rounds. Hasselback, Aaron Brooks and Marc Brunell were all second day picks. They were also all drafted while having a very good player already playing the position.
So with all of that said is there a pass rushing DE we could be looking at for a switch to the 4-3?
Or is there a QB that could be had on day 2 that would be a good fit for the WCO?
CJ Spiller is just another Reggie Bush. No way I'd take him with a top 5 pick.
Bush is not particularly GOOD at any of his trades....get it?
CJ Spiller's acceleration is unmatched and that his football speed is probably better than most backs..but I'll see what his combine numbers are..
This year, he had games with 26, 22, 20, 20, 19, 18, 18, and 17 carries. And most of these games he was battling turf toe.. I don't know how anyone could watch a highlight video of this guy and not have their jaw drop in response to the way he explodes past everyone else around him. That isn't something that's captured in a 40 time.
CJ Spiller has 591 carries for 3480 yards (5.88 YPC), 31 rushing TD's, and 120 catches for 1362 (11.35 YPC), 11 receiving TD's..... And remember he was often sharing the load with James Davis..

Oh my bad Mr. Football expert
I saw Reggie Bush dominate college football defenses. I've never seen Spiller come close to that. You are seriously overating this kid if you think differently.

You really haven't watched much ball, otherwise you wouldn't have said that.
Deepthreat..CJ..raw??? Explain that..he's not raw to me ..he's not a trackstar playing football..I gave the numbers..he can run between the tackles and has more than enough acceleration to go wide and turn it up..plus he can go the distance on any carry. Not afraid to be physical and can be lined up wide.. Now I'm sure someone will say that I think he should be the pick..I'm saying he should be considered..even if I wouldn't take him I'd consider the kid..
I'm sorry but you must have missed Reggie Bush's entire career if you think CJ spiller is better then him. You mentioned spiller spliting time with Davis. Bush had to split time with some guy named Lendale White. I think you might have heard of him.

Thats laughable because I watch a ton of college ball...and I know what I'm looking at..I wasn't crazy about Bush when he was drafted.. If a back can't go between the tackles I don't have much use for him. I think his acceleration is better than Bush's and I think he can run inside more than Bush does.. In fact do U think the Saints are doing cartwheels over him right now??
Spiller v. Bush....tend to agree with Attack on this one. Not saying I would draft Spiller at #5, but some players are better college players (Leinart, Bush, Ginn, Dayne etc) then pros. Why? Mostly falls into toughness, smarts, desire, and work ethic.
Spiller has shown more ability to run inside and think will be a better Pro then Bush.
I'm coming home, I'm coming home, tell the world I'm coming home

I think it's laughable that you bring this situation up. With a guy like Brees at QB and the WRs he has they don't need to run the football as much as most teams anyway. Oh yeah I probabaly watch just as much college football as you.

He beat out dam good running backs for the job...and nobody knows why. The offense ran much better when Stafon Johnson or Allen Bradford were running the ball. He is not really that much of a burner, especially after his toe injuries. And he fumbles way too much to run inside in the NFL.
I think McKnight will leave USC, but in the NFL he is nothing more than a gimmick player/kick returner. In my opinion he is not even worth a pick in the first four rounds.

Whats comical is that you use that lame excuse..Thomas/Bell are their one/two punch and Bush is the 3rd back..he has only 63 carries for 339 yards..5 TD's..41 catches 298yards.. The Saints are a big play offense.. guess thats why Bush isn't featured ..hardly any big plays.. BTW ,I know you don't watch as much college games as I have..like to go back to the mid-60's and tell me about the wishbone and veer option formations ??
