We do know that to be successful in any variation of the WCO the QB must..I say must... be accurate and mobile... The question that will be answered later is what will he do? Bring in a vet and get a mid round pick..or get a vet and draft a QB high?

Tebow in round 2? Sam Bradford and Colt McCoy are both mobile. Then again, Quinn moves well also.

Hasselbeck isn't that mobile.
Brad Johnson is the slowest guy in the NFL since Kosar.
It helps to be mobile, but it's not a necessity.
Accuracy is a staple of any successful QB.

Not like he used to be but he can roll out..but if we're looking at college QB's we need to look at some who are accurate and could run that type of offense..and NO TEBOW!..that was for anyone mentioning that name.RememberMuni..no..

Screw Tebow. The best he can hope for is to develop in 3-5 years. That's WAY too long for a team like us.
If we're going with a non-1st round guy, McCoy would be an acceptable developmental guy, but I want to wait to see how his arm measures up at the combine.
Also, don't forget about the kid at Oregon State. He's probably a 3rd round QB who is a developmental guy. Only problem is he's left-handed.
I really think keeping an eye on Hasselbeck is the way to go. Seattle probably won't want to pay him $10 million next year.

I watched some of Canfield last night.
What stuck out? His accuracy was HORRIBLE. Even without pressure. I was very dissappointed. I hope we don't go that route.

anyone else see the humor in us potentially looking at a high round QB draft pick from ND (Clausen) or a lower round QB draft pick from Oregon State (Canfield).
the more it changes, the more it stays the same....anyone heard good things about whoever QB'd at Akron this year?

They were playing a 40 mph wind...

Some of the punts that you saw were awful in that game. Lou Holtz kept on yelling about how you have to have the rugby punt in your playbook for times like that.
I mean 10 yards punts and stuff into the wind, the ball would go in the air and then just stop/go backwards. The coach was sooo frustrated

remembermuni,
is our wildcat the same as the other teams? i know we have cribbs, but are the core elements the same?...i'd love to incorporate the flash package into the WCO...Cribbs makes it better, although Miami does well with Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown as well.
I don't know if our Wildcat is the same as other teams. Nobody in the NFL runs it better than Miami.
I'm telling you, John Gruden is the guy to get. - He knows how to run an NFL offense to begin with and he has been studying the wildcat since he's been away from the game.
I'm all for Gruden, but he has zero reason to quit his job at ESPN. He works 1 day a week and collects a paycheck from ESPN and the Bucs. I doubt you see Gruden back until 2011 when his contract with the Bucs will have expired.

Can't go by that game. The wind was blowing around 35 MPH all the time. One punter had two 6-yard punts. Yes, two. The second one was taken about 5 rows deep on the sideline, hehe.
He didn't impress me that much, but I can't ever remember a game where the wind was that bad.

Well, what the heck does that have to do with it? If I remember correctly, Steve Young did pretty well as a southpaw. (And if I sound defensive, the fact that I'm a lefty might have a little something to do with it! )

Because if something happens to the starter and the backup is right-handed (which is almost a given) then you have to flip-flop the offense around.
Then there's the fact that Joe Thomas wouldn't be protecting the blind-side of our QB.
St. Claire would.
Want any more answers that should scare the Hell out of you?
I'm left-handed too.

Okay, now that scared me more than if you told me Spoonfed was going to be our new GM and Coach B our new coach!
