Proof in the pudding? You're joking right. You are glomming his entire career on a blow up season with the Dolphins...why? Cause it actually makes your claim factual
I know...his foundation that he laid out for Seattle did nothing. his foundation that he laid out for New Orleans did nothing. There are some very good work done there.
Last I looked we weren't looking for a GM to make a plan to build this team up. We are looking for a GM who can work for HOLMGREN the guy with the plan!
As mentioned before, he is experienced in places where Holmgren really hasn't gone to. He is a good wheeler dealer - not that we got a lot to deal with except for possibly Rogers (cause teams would pay for him) and two QB possibly looking to re-jump their careers somewhere else. Still he has a lot of Experience. He has ran drafts, strong scouting on the college side and pro side.
For a self imposed Fantasy GM and a brash young poster still wet behind the ears to come and tell me he sucks...and then point to a process of a team being left in the lurch by a Micro Managing HC of one year and then say he sucks - like we are going after a GM to build something by himself as the HEAD MAN IN CHARGE.
Take a step back from your genius...you and django both. Look at what we are doing. Look who is the Head Man in Charge. Look what Holmgren would be asking from the GM. I don't expect Holmgren to Micro Manage every thing. But I do expect him to get his hands dirty in all aspects of our organization. See how a more experienced GM would leave Holmgren with less baby sitting time. One who actually has worked with him before and they would be able to work together. Under that last assumption (which we don't really know how compatible those two really are) there is a possibility that he is the right man.

I'd much rather have Tom Heckert as GM, personally.

Heckert was my 1st choice for GM before we hired Kokinis. If I remember correctly he withdrew his name from consideration because he didn't want to be 2nd fiddle to Mangini. Why would he come here now and be 2nd fiddle to Holmgren? Or worse 3rd fiddle behind MH and Mangini?
Am I perfect? No Am I trying to be a better person? Also no

Holmgren is the figure that keeps the coach out of the GM business (Gini Vs. Kok) and the GM out of the coaches business (Phil vs. Romeo).
If hired, Heckert would need to have roster final say, he would not not be second fiddle to Gini. Holmgren would assure the balance of power.
We're trying to throw the ball downfield and he checked the ball down to Trent Richardson and the Indians on the choice.
