Yes.

When you consider yourself to be a hip hop head, then all of a sudden a rapper turns to garbage, and you have to hear all these people running around yelling "Taylor Gang or die!", when they couldn't even tell you what it is, it's annoying.

On that note, JETS > Taylor Gang, anyway.

Why does that matter though? If he turns to garbage, I would assume you arent listening to him anymore.

Do you have to "discover" a rapper before he hits the radio to be considered a fan?

Nope. I have no problem with the people who hear Wiz on the radio and like him.

It's the people who are act like they just discovered the wheel because they know of this "new guy", when people like me, and I'm assuming Candy, have known about Wiz for years, when they never heard of the dude before Kush and Orange Juice .

I don't care who "found him first". I hear of a lot of rappers from some of my friends. What annoys me is the people who like to tell me about how they "found him" and brag about it, because

1. Who cares if you did?

and

2. Wiz ain't new.

If that makes sense lol.

I listen to a lot of rap but not much new stuff. A lot of mid - late 90's and just about anything from Krayzie Bone (new and old). This year in our Flag Football league there is a team called the Taylor Gang, until I read your post I just thought the person who started the team was called Taylor.

He's very ... Uhh ... Controversial? lol.

He's atheist. He says a lot of messed up stuff, but yeah the dude can spit.

I don't agree with anything they say, really, but I love OFWGKTA.

Tyler the Creator, Hodgy Beats, Left Brain, Earl Sweatshirt, Mike G, etc. Those are the guys from OFWGKTA.

Check out "Mellowhype", that's Hodgy and Left Brain from OFWGKTA.

I've been listening alot to Gangstagrass, specifically the music that features T.O.N.E-z and Tomasia as the lead vocalists. Not sure how to link a song from youtube but here's one of them:

Had to take it off, the language isn't the best. If they sound familiar and you watch Justified this is the band that sings all the music for the show.

Do you listen to el-p or aesop rock?

I like their anti-establishment rhymes a lot.

I like Jedi Mind tricks occasionally, but sometimes they are too full of venom to listen too. Their second, third, and fourth albums are my favorite.

I think el-p was great with co-flo, and even better since going solo.

I kinda lost interest in digging through all the bs for the good stuff years ago. I love music, and I tend to prefer everything outside of the mainstream. Throughout the years I have found stuff I have liked and stuff I haven't.

el-p is awesome. i love everything from the guy, the rap, the instrumental, the jazzy/electronic/dj type stuff. it's all good. even his last cd that kinda sorta went mainstream is still really good.

i enjoy the JMT too. although the only thing i have from them is violent by design.

Violent by Design was the first album I came across by JMT and I was instantly impressed upon my first listen. I got their earlier stuff and it is a lot less intense---more conspiracy theory type stuff.

The later albums just get even more violent and in your face. And with lyrics talking about going to war for anyone that supports Islam--they are kinda controversial in this age of the war on terror.

I still like em though. You should check out "Animal Rap" from their third album.

"I who have nothing" from their first album

and

"Heavy Metal KIngs" feat. Ill Bill from their fifth album.

Also, "what's really good" from their fourth album.

There are other good tracks from those albums---but those are the ones that stick out in my mind as the best from each of the albums. Their producer, Stoupe, has an album out as well, it showcases his production with some other MC's---and it is pretty sweet too. I love his latin tinged beats.

I am not really familiar from their uncommon valor album, so I can't recommend anything.

Yea---El-P is like a genius. Everything he has ever done is awesome. i have every album, even the high water and collecting the kid dj/jazz stuff.

I am a big fan of RJD2 as well. That dude made some great albums.

Okay so after listening to some of Tylers songs I can tell the guy is horrorcore. He says he isn't but it sounds like it. To me, Tyler just reminds me of a young Eminem, not the exact same styles or flow, but same goal of going for that shock value.

Ignore the first 1:30 because he is just clowning, but he did a good job explaining the album.

BIggie only had 1 good album, but I'm not going to disagree. Everyone is going to go on personal preference here anyway.

I don't listen to rap as much anymore but this is still one of my personal favorite albums.

1st answer, this is what you call an oxymoron.

2nd answer, Dr Dre,

3rd answer The Beastie Boys, but they might not fit everyones def. of rap.

Don't listen to any enough to but can say the original has to be better than the copy and EZ E and Too short, who is going to copy that, I mean nobody would copy that, and it wouldnt be that alot have tried to copy that? right?
