few days late with this one, but a fellow browns fan shipped his first AAA title!

http://www.darksiders.com/

Action/Adventure game, alot of blood and sweat went into it and so far it looks like we've had a great release. Game is available for Xbox360 and PS3

Has anybody played this game yet. I was thinking about getting it but I am going to wait until I have some time after this semester.

Yes, sorry for not being clear before. I work at Vigil as a gameplay programmer, specifically on Darksiders

That's pretty cool gage!! You literally have one of my dream jobs. Can I ask you a coulple questions???

1) What game engine does Darksiders use!

2) Did you work on the PS3 version?

If So what is the hardest part of working with the PS3?

3) Is this game a must buy?

that is very cool!

i've played the beginning of the game for the first hour or so and it's definitely a fun game. as a wii60er, one of the only games i wish i could play is the god of war franchise and this one definitely like it without seeming like a direct knockoff.

No problem sir! Our game engine is custom

Gameplay programming works with all the consoles, so I did but not at a low level. The complaints I heard about PS3 vs. X360 both local and in the industry is the alpha blending performance being terrible on PS3 and how its just a different way to program on a highly specialized (but very parallel) platform. In time I think the PS3 will win out but unless your developing a game JUST for the PS3 its hard to fully take advantage of it.

We got alot of GoW comparisons early in dev because of the characters and relationship to religion and whatnot. Your still real early in the game, give it another hour or so of playtime and the game is going to delve into adventure pretty radically, and thats where it takes off IMO.

sweet! What language... C++?

I've been wanting to delve into game development a bit. I already own/run a metaserver for the Marathon/Aleph One and Myth series of games (the sole remaining public server in the world), and I've often thought of adding a new custom game or two to it.

AD... your post disappeared just as I was about to respond, but the game you are thinking of is Myst, not Myth.

I have Myth 3, it's a pretty cool game.

I'm hopefully going to start up Darksiders this weekend!

You should find a torrent of Myth 2.
The graphics aren't as nice or "modern" as Myth 3, but the gameplay is better and there is a LOT more content for it (plus, people actually play Myth 2 multiplayer - pretty much zero play M3 multi).

I gotta check out Darksiders myself, it looks fun.

Yeah I figured out that I was thinking of the wrong game and deleted my post. Sorry thought I caught it fast enough.
