http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/201...eague-employee/Browns were fined for tampering with league employee Posted by Michael David Smith on January 17, 2010 9:42 AM ET We previously passed along a report that the Cleveland Browns had terminated vice president of football administration Dawn Aponte. Today there's an interesting report out about the Browns' hiring of Aponte less than a year ago. Adam Schefter of ESPN adds an element to the situation: Until the Browns hired Aponte, she was an employee of the league office. And the Browns were fined $50,000 for hiring Aponte without first clearing it with her immediate supervisor. Charges of tampering with other teams' employees aren't unusual, but Schefter reports that the circumstances surrounding the hiring of Aponte made the Browns the first organization to be charged with tampering with an employee of the league office. Now both Aponte and Mike Keenan, who hired her away from the league office, are gone.

I guess I missed the part where the Browns were fined for tampering when they hired Aponte..was that info made public?
Could it be that Holmgren worries a little about the loyalities of those who once worked for the league?
I wonder if there is much more to this story?

Even wierder is that she is still listed on the official site.. You may say thats meaningless but you will note that all the fired Pro Personnel guys and Keenan are all removed already...
Take that for what it's worth..
Also, does it matter that we were fined a year ago?

Nah just MH...bringing in his people that he knows will work hard for the goal...Keenan seems to be a good guy but wondered how he would stay after MH hired his better choice in his stead who had mega NFL experience.
Dawn Aponte? maybe one of those unofficial sources we always read about??? but just MH cleaning up the interior of the organization...Mangini cleaned up a lot as he fired around 40 upon coming here and I don't think there were many hired???

Would`nt that have to be Keenans responsibility to inform the current supervisor of Aponte`s interview for the Browns job ?

MH is showing some class doing the dirty side of stuff as far as letting folks go and such. Sounds like the FO and the folks therein were up to their hips in some issues and turf battles perhaps. Hope it is better soon before the draft.
