If Wimbley and Roth are starting next year...

We have these people to back them up:

David Bowens* played well at MLB/OLB
Marcus Benard* played well
Alex Hall - has played well in the past (07)
Justin Trusnik - Serviceable at MLB/OLB

Roth, Bowens, Jackson, Wimbley as starters really makes me sad for the secondary.

I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, hope we don't see these words in the off-season:

"Shawne Merriman is visiting the Cleveland Browns."

Give me some 3rd and 4th round hybrid DE/OLB types and let them get after the QB.

He's been just a guy since getting busted for Steroids. I'll never be able to prove it, but his knee didn't get hurt on a single play but rather from wear and tear, so I think his 'roid use made him a star that burned bright but burned out quick. Now he isn't nearly the same guy he was. He's Wimbley but with a crap-attitude.

The excuse that it's his first year after knee surgery doesn't factor, as he had his surgery very early in 2008. One would expect him to be playing very well towards the end of this past season, but he mustered only 4 sacks and doesn't have the same burst he had four years ago.

I want no part of that bum.

Yeah, Norv was saying that he was the healthiest he had been all year before the playoff game against the Jets. I don't think I heard his name called once that game.

I only want Merriman if he's on the roids.
