It is the start of a new season so to speak, so I understand the "homeritis" being strong at this point...
I love it. I'm aware of it. Although I feel it's rational homeritis.
He went to USC. Surprises me considering the coaching situation there.

I think you forgot to mention USC as one of Henderson's destinations. Quote:
Lane Kiffin capped off his first National Signing Day as USC's coach by reeling in offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson, the nation's No. 2 prospect and the highest-ranked undecided player going into the big day.
Henderson's signing was seen as a coup for Kiffin, who was hired as Trojans coach Jan. 12, and will likely help USC finish with a top-three recruiting class.
Rivals.com
From what I'm seeing both the local teams (USC and UCLA) had pretty good days. Makes for some good live college football, which is all I care about.
I think I just saw Seantrel driving in a nice new Escalade.

Thanks....I hadn't seen as I had to step out for 2-3 hours this afternoon...I thought he was slated for tonight.....good....I really didn't want him going to Miami...that would have ticked me off.....but i was right, weather played a big part in his decision.
Too bad he picked that program....they will....or should be on probation, and Kiffin is a little beach punk.....no....not a Tennessee fan, but I do have state pride.
You should have seen the little punk hiding out in a hallways....it was funny.
Some students AND players got in a back door....probably allowed in by a loyal Vol campus cop... and started to cuss the guy and give him the one finger salute. If there was stuff to throw, I am sure they did.
Monty has to be wondering if Mrs. Kiffin maybe had a one or two night fling with some male florist or ballet dancer...that little punk can't be his kid.

Actually Peen that's not correct at all. He said OSU finished 2nd to him. I've done research on the kid and I guarantee 90% of his decision was based on his toolbag father. Rumour on the radio is that Sean Henderson (his dad) wants to be a rapper. Snoop Dog offered him a deal. So he thinks going to southern cal would make he and his son known worldwide.
Ohio State should have a tremendous class next year Ohio is loaded and they will nab Pryor's replacement in Braxton Miller more than likely. I think part of the reason OSU didn't get all of the top ohio players was that they weren't really Ohio guys. Hicks was born and raised in Texas. Ware wants to play Baseball in the SEC.

Tennesse, Florida State, and USC.
All three teams deemed to be unstable, with new coaches.
Had better class grades than OSU.
Not that it matters though...

If 2nd place makes you feel better, Ok...I will allow that as I don't want to come across as a Richard.
All I know is I am feeling pretty good right now hearing talking heads saying Fla may have had the best recruiting class ever.
I don't know if that is true, but is sounds good.
It probably won't help immediately. I expect a down year next year...we probably still win the east, but maybe not....SC is looking pretty good right now, but in the long run, I am pretty confident that the Gators are still poised to be mentioned near the top for a good while.
I guess what I am saying is I have to keep it in perspective. You can't win every year. If you win even 2 championships in a decade you are pushing towards the top. Win 3 and you are getting to legendary status.
I like my position....and I know that even as a loyal, diehard Buck fan, you have to admit what Fla has done the last 5 years or so is pretty special.
Football and basketball in the same season?? Really man, that may never happen again....and I give credit to OSU for being runner-up....I know it doesn't sound as good and why my Gators don't get much love around here, but that may never happen again.
You have to have a pretty damn stout program to do that.
No smack in those comments.

Most around town think USC will only get a slap on the wrist, no major probation.

I only mentioned OSU finishing 2nd because they finished ahead of the other "warm weather team."
You have every right to enjoy Florida's success. Especially considering before this decade Florida was above average at best. It could have easily been my Buckeyes who won the national championships. I expect them and Florida to have a great football team for many years to come. They will have to deal with Alabama who has restored their title as being kings of the SEC. I don't see Florida's basketball team ever coming close to winning a national championship any time soon.

It's nice to see the pecking order in the SEC restored.
Football- 1. Alabama, 2. Florida, 3. Everyone else
Basketball- 1. Kentucky, 2. Everyone else.

Ahh, there ya go.
Hand a olive branch and get vinegar in return.
No problem man.
I have always looked forward. yep....OSU racked up some titles in the 50's.....I even remember 1 of them.
Were you at least 10 in 68?? If not, you don't remember that, so you then have a title in what....02???
Basketball....what??? Havlicheck and Knight in what.....60???
Talk about things that happened in your lifetime.....I heard Ben Franklin was a great statesman and a real ladies man.

Well Peen it wouldn't surprise me if you were old enough to remeber all of them

Yeah and before this decade Florida was a real powerhouse with their 1996 national championship. It must have been amazing to celebrate your first championship in decades.

Yeah but those guys had nothing on Florida greats such as.... uhm.... hold on... I'll have to get back to you with that one....

Sorry that was funny, in a painful sort of way
I don't put a whole lot of stock in these rankings. I remember few years back Justin Zwick was supposed to be kind of a big deal. Not sure of his national ranking but he was Mr. Footbal in Ohio I believe

Yeah Michigan State is in the SEC. That's exactly what I wrote.
Michigan State is the cornerstone of the SEC.

I wonder how big of a signing bonus he got from USC...

I fail to see what Michigan State has to do with the pecking order in the SEC. Please enlighten me.

I wondered that as well.
However, this just broke: http://www.sportingnews.com/blog/TheRecr...etter-of-intent
- He's not signing until after their sanctions hearing in a couple weeks.
I'm still hoping for a change. - He needs to understand that the Big 10 produces the NFL's best lineman. Doesn't he want to follow in the footsteps of Orlando Pace, Corey Stringer, Nick Mangold, Steve Hutchinson, Jake Long, and Joe Thomas?

Anyone else excited about this? I look forward to it for a week or so in advance. It can be pretty uneventful with a lot of kids already saying who they are signing with, but there are always a few suprises every year and a few guys leave their decisions until the last day.
Trying to stay out of the thread bickering, I don't see it any different than NFL Draft Day. I have no idea what I have--I'm dreaming and speculating, and hoping for the best.
Notre Dame has supposedly had top ten classes since Weis got there.
Don't mean a hill of beans.

Interesting tidbit....I myself can't imagine them not getting just a slap on the wrist.
Teams get slaps for far less than providing cars and paying parents.
At minimum they should lose 4-5 scholarships for 3-4 years.

He's just being a homer....but I will say KY is a traditional BB power.....nobody can deny that.....but the SEC is a football conference for the most part and not a BB conference.
Let the guy crow....to a degree, he deserves it, though KY BB fans do a lot of crowing.

Hmm... I don't know what standings you are looking at. I see Kentucky and Vandy both at 6-1 in the conference with us on top because we beat them.
I think you need to take another look at those standings.

If by alone you mean there are other teams playing, you are correct. Otherwise, the other division leader is 4-3. Vandy is the closest thing to UK and UK owns the tie breaker so far.

Because ITS COLD!
Honestly, if you are an NFL caliber lineman, where you go to school isn't going to effect that, so why not go and play in the sun?
Unless USC gets blacklisted from championships and bowl games, which I doubt will happen, I doubt hell switch.
When was the last time a school got more than Scholarships taken away? Ie: no bowl game/conference championship?

i should have checked on whether you played head2head, but I think you know I was messing with you
that said, you beat them at home....on 2/20 you get to go to Vandy to most likely determine the division winner.
so, UK is not alone atop the SEC this year as you asserted
