I flipped over to ABC at the half and watched a re-run of my favorite sitcom out there - Modern Family.

A re-run is more entertaining to me than what CBS was throwing out there.

I was kind of underwhelmed by The Who's performance. Also a bit puzzled as to why the session drummer got so much face time

The drummer got a lot of face time because of who he is.

That drummer is Zak Starkey.

Ringo Starr (Starkey)'s son.

I was thinking it was Moon's kid,....didn't The Who give him a shot once ? Kinda like Zep did with Bonham Jr. ?

Frankly, I'm surprised the image-paranoid NFL would showcase a guy who was "cautioned" by British Police for paying to access child pornography.

I believe it was proven the guy never accessed anything. This happened back around 2003. In previous years he had written essays railing against its sick existence; about how prevalent child porn actually is and was writing about how insanely easy it is to get it. He, admittedly, was stupidly trying to prove a point by gaining access to a site for his writings. It wasn't like as soon as he signed up for access that the cops were at his door. He paid for an account for access he never used. How many people buy access to an internet site for something and not use it immediately?

The cynics will say "yeah, sure...whatever", but I for one believe him. His charity work and shows over many decades for children, drug addiction, cancer and tons of other causes speaks volumes. Again, I might be being naive here, but knowing how he was railing against the subject long prior to this incident, leads me to truly believe the guy.

Yeah, I was discussing today with a co-worker of mine who's a drummer and he told me that. Makes quite a bit more sense now. Still not Keith Moon though...

Interesting... I didn't know that was Ringo's boy.. I did think he had Keith Moon's hair, hahaha

I figured the dummer was in the background a lot because it's a nice camera work/composition to have something cool-looking ike a drummer playing behind a singer who is stationary a lot.

To add, I like the Who (not a huge fan but like some of their songs) but all in all it was a pretty boring performance, IMO of course.

I was thinking the same thing as yes, they did have Moon's son fill that void at one time.

I thought so,...and dang if that kid doesn't look more like Moon than Ringo,...but that was probably as much my imagination as anything.

Trans Siberian Orchestra would be pretty cool.

I don't watch any of the halftime shows usually. I don't like watching old men try to act 20 and I don't like people who actually are 20 try to seem talented, and it always seems like they get one or the other. Guess it just isn't for me.

Yep. Kick the old guys to the curb. Its the American way.

I understand what you are trying to say, but their job for their entire lives is to be musicians. In The Who's case, it was intended to be live performance musicians. They weren't trying to act like they're 20. They were just doing their jobs. If you are a musician and someone gives you a chance to perform for 100 million people, you do it.

Yes. I've seen them put on much much better shows than they did last night....but they got only 12 minutes to shoe horn abbreviated versions of songs that didn't allow for any showmanship to an audience where virtually nobody cared about musical entertainment or who was doing that entertainment.

So I'm thinking about this and WHAMMO it hits me! How about they(TSO) do their versions of the old NFL films music! That'd be awesome! We used to mimic that stuff as we ran the ball as kids!

Man that stuff could get you to rev up before pee wee games and can still be an inspiration!

If Daltry & Townsend's voices weren't pretty well shot, that show woulda been a lot better - but I thought it was great just the same.
One of my favorite bands of all time, my first ever concert and the music I grew up on --- they're long in the tooth for sure, but it was still great to see them out there.

I think Metallica would make for a GREAT show, but I don't think they have enough universal appeal to get the nod.

The band that I would absolutely LOVE to see doing the show is Green Day.

Or maybe they should just have the Fox robot getting run over by a monster truck.

Heck, I'd actually PAY to see that.
