Feels good to be on the right side doesn't it?

It's such an exciting day for me,,,, come celebrate with me

Some of you guys that are beating up on Peen because you either think he wants Dorsey to be our QB or thinks that Dorsey is good enough or feels as if someone from Akron U can't possiblly be good enough,,,You might want to go read his post again..

Nowhere does he ever say that Dorsey is better than Frye,,, Nowhere does he say he wants Dorsey to be our QB... he merely poses a question and advances a "what if" kinda thinking.... NOT a "it will happen" kind of thought...

I think Peen knows and understands that Dorsey probabley isn't the guy,,,, I say probably, because we won't know 100% for sure until he gets a shot a playing...

I gotta tell all you guys something,,,, I think it would be outstanding and very exciting if we could sit here towards the end of August and based on what we've seen of our QB's tells us any one of them could start and to a great job... do I expect that,,, Nope,, but woudn't that be something to celebrate....

Good thing some talent evaluaters don't share your opinion. Or we would have missed out on many "greats" of the game.

You take a team of Akron players, and I take a team of Miami players....I kick your butt evey time.

Akron is where players end up when the big schools decide to take a pass.

But that's not to say a really good player can't come from Akron.... you're right in that on average the players are better at UM... but on an individual basis you could still get a really good player from a small school like Akron.

Well Peen, since Dorsey is THIRD STRING and Charlie is the starter, either we need you as QB coach to "straighten them out" or your theory is full of holes.

Maybe you need to look at some of the small schools that have produced great NFL talent in the past?

The funny part about it is,you know what I'm saying is true. You're just so bound and determined to make a point that doesn't exist, that you're reaching big time.

But I keep forgetting what a GREAT talent evaluater Butch was. Just look at the wealth of talent we have from his draft picks. NCAA and the NFL are two different animals. Butch proved that. And Dorsey being third string while Charlie is our starter proves another point.

Dude.....if you read what I said, nowhere am I saying Dorsey will or should be the starter.....I said wouldn't it be funny if he did....and i said the guy isn't as bad as most claim....from that, some of you think I am saying he should be the starter.

No,I read exactly what you infered. That since "he went to Miami" unlike Frye who "got stuck in Akron" you infered that Dorsey was a higher quality athlete because he went to a "named school".

Are you stating that isn't what you infered? Because the line I quoted most certainly suggested that at the very least.

It speaks for itself. Better players go to better schools...it doesn't take much to figure that out.

That doesn't have anything to do with where things stand today......OSU gets better players than Bowling Green don't they??

My only cause for bringing that up was to bolster my point about how many on the board viewing Doresy like he is a sandlot player.....I will say it again...I don't think Dorsey is as bad as people think.....and in the right situation, I think he could have a pretty decent NFL career.....and you never know....it could be here.

So you and a few others can read what you want....it doesn't really matter to me.

I just read what you post and hear what you say. It's pretty simple really.

So what about the great NFL players who HAVE come from smaller schools? Could it be that NCAA scouts just miss the boat sometimes? Certainly looks that way if you study some of the great players from the past doesn't it?

I just get a totally different message out of the "Dorsey experiment" than Peen does I guess.

What I get seems to be a much more simplistic view.IMO

An "average QB" (Dorsey) can be surrounded by a talented team (Miami) and accomplish great things. And,that some players skill set translates well at the next level, while others don't.

Now I could be way off base, but from the EVEIDENCE at hand, that's what I see there.

This is like that kids game, where kid 1 whispers something in the next kid's ear, then he whispers it in the next kid's ear, and so on. When the last kid repeats what he thinks he heard, it's nothing like what the 1st kid started with.

I read peen's posts, and can't for the life of me figure out how this thread ended up where it did.

Dorsey is a bright QB ..but his skills undermine his brain..it's why he's a # 3 QB..
If Frye had Dorsey's brain, and Anderson's cannon NO ONE would want either QB in the draft.

Browns | Team interested in M. Tuiasosopo?
Sun, 18 Feb 2007 07:55:25 -0800

Tony Grossi, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports the Cleveland Browns may target unrestricted free agent QB Marques Tuiasosopo (Raiders) in the offseason.

http://www.kffl.com/hotw/NFL

I just read the article and there probably isn't much to this.

If the Browns pursue a quarterback in free agency, keep in mind the name Marques Tuiasosopo. Savage inquired about him last year to fill the void created by Trent Dilfer's defection, but the Raiders wouldn't trade him. Now Tuiasosopo is an unrestricted free agent. . . . The Texans are hoping to attract a third-round draft pick for quarterback David Carr, who has a 23-53 career record. . . . It's no secret Houston wants to replace Carr with Denver's Jake Plummer. Why Plummer? He had the three best years of his career in Denver when Houston coach Gary Kubiak was Broncos offensive coordinator. . . . The hiring of Wade Phillips as Cowboys coach all but assures the team will name Jason Garrett offensive coordinator. Dallas assistant coach Tony Sparano, who called offensive plays for Bill Parcells last year and was a possibility to nudge aside Garrett, probably will concentrate on the offensive line.

The whole article is here;

As noted, Tui was a guy that I felt would be a solid addition as a backup in a short passing game. Now Rattay is clearly my #1 guy, and there isn't a person in the world who can tell me Anderson is going to amount to anything. He was a screwup in college and he's a screwup in the pro's. He has no upside and will always make the same mistake. People fall in love with his NFL arm and size, but sometimes won't see his inability to read a defense and his far-too-often prayer into triple coverage. In short, he isn't the answer for anything on this team. I don't know that Tui is as a backup, but I DO know Rattay is a great guy as a backup. Having said that, if we get Tui and it bumps Anderson, we're that much better off.

Then there's the 4th for Carr that I'd like to see get done, but that's probably a pipe dream.

Rattay is a guy who, while lacking Frye's abilities, is a better quarterback in this league. He can come in and win some games if Frye falters. Tui is a pure backup who's more like Frye, in that he can move around.

I'd much rather have Rattay.
