And yes, I do believe a 2nd round pick is a valueable pick, especially this yr. with with all the depth at S, CB, and LB in this yrs. draft.
You brought up good points...that may have been the case...but I'm not sure it's the most clever way to handle it this way because everyone knows that teams are willing to overpay in FA...why not give him 1st round tender and negotiate a long term deal from there?
There are some teams that should be interested in DQ for a low 2nd...again, if I was Indy I would be throwing big bucks DQ's way right now...they did just re-sign Brackett but their OLB aren't all that and DQ could take over their WOLB spot and eventually take over ILB once Brackett gets too old...all that for pick 63.....go take a look at the last 4 drafts what kind of talent you get in that region
2006
61 Tony Scheffler TE 62 Tim Jennings CB 63 Darryl Tapp DE 64 Tarvaris Jackson QB 65 Charles Spencer T 66 Eric Winston T 67 Abdul Hodge LB 68 Claude Wroten DT 69 Paul McQuistan G 70 Ashton Youboty CB
2007
61 Gerald Alexander FS 62 Dan Bazuin DE 63 Brandon Jackson RB 64 Sabby Piscitelli SAF 65 Quentin Moses DE 66 Usama Young CB 67 James Marten OT 68 Quincy Black LB 69 Buster Davis LB 70 Ryan Harris OT
2008
61 Martellus Bennett TE 62 Terrence Wheatley CB 63 Terrell Thomas CB 64 Kevin Smith RB 65 John Greco T 66 Kendall Langford DE 67 Charles Godfrey FS 68 Chevis Jackson CB 69 Jacob Hester FB 70 Earl Bennett WR
Feel better about the 2nd round tender "value" now? Of course we can match...but letting the FA-market (which, again, tends to overpay) dictate the contract seem pretty stupid thing to do....so if someone like Indy or NO throws big money his way you look pretty stupid and either overpay yourself or get to pick the next backup or marginal starter from the list above....I'm not even sure there's one player from those picks I would trade DQ striaght up with right now.....

Per a league source, safety Brodney Pool may be visiting the Rams on Monday.

Thanks for the heads up.
We're trying to throw the ball downfield and he checked the ball down to Trent Richardson and the Indians on the choice.
