web page 'Lost Boys' actor Corey Haim dead in Burbank at 38
BURBANK, Calif. – The Los Angeles coroner's office says "The Lost Boys" actor Corey Haim is dead at 38.
Coroner's Lt. Cheryl MacWillie said Wednesday that Haim died at 2:15 a.m. at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank. She said an autopsy will determine the cause of death and there are no other details.
Canadian-born Haim became a teen heartthrob with the 1986 film "Lucas" and 1987's "The Lost Boys."
His first role was in the 1984 hit "Firstborn," in which he played a young child caught up in a family war. He then appeared in the 1985 television movie "A Time to Live."
In recent years, he appeared in the A&E reality TV show "The Two Coreys" with his friend Corey Feldman. It was canceled in 2008 after two seasons. RIP Corey.

I had to look up who he even was. Sounds like a sad story.

I use to watch "Prayer of the Rollerboys" a lot when I was younger. Acting sucked (well typical 80's acting) in it but the story was pretty good. He played the main character.

Holey cow... haha. You just made me feel old. My sister actually met him a few years ago in a trip out to LA. She got a picture with him. Can almost guarantee it's drug related. Lost Boys is one of my favorite 80s flicks... Was more of a Corey Feldman fan though.

For as "famous" as he was he really wasn't in anything worth talking about.
Can't say I'm surprised about his overdose.
RIP.
Corey Feldman was actually in a few good movies (Goonies and Stand By Me). This Corey....meh.

Heartthrob is a bit of an exaggeration maybe? He had a face only a mother could love.

The link to the article shows where he admitted to taking 85 uppers or downers a day (not sure which one he was referring to). It seems he is lucky he lasted this long.

Lost Boys is still one of the best vampire movies ever.

I still consider it a classic from my youth, but MAN that movie hasn't aged well. I wouldn't rank it too high on the best vampire movie list.
I suggest everyone rewatch it and notice how Haim dressed and also the shirtless Rob Lowe poster he had in his bedroom.
Kiefer Sutherland is still the bomb in that movie though!

Ain't seen him do a bad movie yet, and though I didn't like "Lost Boys," it is a good movie.

I'm going to have to steal one from Ytown in the Lindsey Lohan thread and ask, "who is Corey Haim"?

He's one of the cursed few in this world who has an extremely addictive personality to anything. Unfortunately for Haim, he was also blessed with enough talent to earn the kind of money required to feed his numerous addictions.
All that equals an early death.
***Gordon, I really didn't think you could be this stOOpid, but you exceeded my expectations. Wussy. Manziel, see Josh Gordon. Dumbass.***

I have to say, I was just thinking about celebrity in general, and this just supports my point.
A lot of people want to be celebrities, make all that money, be in the limelight, but it just seems to me that that's such a hard and terrible life.
Yeah, you get a lot of money and you do have fame, but at what cost? No privacy, unrealistic expectations, surrounded by flunkies who drop you the second you falter.
I'd love to have more money to support myself and my family with ease, but man, I'm not sure I'd want to be a true "celebrity."
RIP Corey.
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

The only thing about him I know is that he was on the local morning radio show (Rover's Morning Glory) sometime last year or so and was a total douche.
