Brady Quinn has been dealt from Cleveland to Denver in exchange for running back Peyton Hillis and two conditional draft picks, according to Jay Glazer's twitter page.
Our View: Quinn was pushed closer out the door in Cleveland after they signed Jake Delhomme yesterday. He could benefit from a fresh start in Denver, and could push the merely adequate Kyle Orton for the starting gig.
I know he played some for Denver when their backfield was decimated by injuries and did really well. He also has great hands. He reminds me a lot of Leonard Weaver, except younger. I hope they use him at RB as a power back. Him behind Vickers would be a pretty sight, IMO.
Quote: Following an injury to Ryan Torain in the Broncos 34-30 comeback road victory over the Cleveland Browns, Hillis was named Denver's starting running back. He made his first start at the position on November 16, 2008, as part of a 24-20 Broncos road victory over the Atlanta Falcons. He had 10 rushing attempts for 44 yards and two touchdowns.[3] On November 30, 2008, Hillis recorded the first 100-yard rushing game of his career in a 34-17 road victory over the New York Jets. He rushed for 129 yards on 22 attempts and added a touchdown.[4] The performance earned him Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week honors as well as FedEx Ground Player of the Week alongside Denver quarterback Jay Cutler for NFL Air Player of the Week.[5] On December 7, 2008, in a 24-17 home win over the Kansas City Chiefs, Hillis suffered a torn right hamstring after making an acrobatic catch from a Jay Cutler throw. The injury forced him to miss the rest of the season.[6] Peyton ended the 2008 season as the Broncos leading rusher with 343 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Thank Goodnes! One thing we can be sure of is...Quinn will never ever be able to drive the Broncos down and beat us in less than two minutes.. Good luck in Denver, maybe the thin air will help you be able to throw further than 5 yards, but it will not help your ... poor accuracy. Thank you Holmgren, for realizing what is evident to most everyone and getting Hillis and 2 picks for him. Like Christmas all over again!
"Going from 4-12 to 6-10 isn't good enough. I believe we are going to be better than that. We're going to be a lot better than that." - Mike Holmgren (3/15/12)

How do you not understand the Browns trading Quinn?
I dont understand bringing in Jake Delbum then trading Quinn for a FB when we have one of the league's best FB. I like Hillis as a player, dont get me wrong, just not seeing the logic behind it.
"The medium for the bad news was ESPN, which figured. The network represents much of what is loud, obnoxious and empty in sports today."
Quote: Thanks for the insight guys. After doing some more research, I like this move. Hillis seems like a good compliment to Harrison.
Disappointed with the picks, but it's kind of expected.
Yeah, I agree. You'd like to get better picks for a first round draft pick, but considering how he has played and the fact that everyone knows we were going to trade him or release him, our leverage was diminished.
As for Hillis, I'm with you Deep, I don't know a lot about him (other than what people are saying on here).
I think they are looking at him as more of a power back to pair with Harrison than a FB to take away reps from Vickers.
Picture this on third and one, Vickers blocking for Hillis. (that is kinda scary)
I like the trade in only that EVERYBODY knew we wanted to get rid of Quinn. It seems we got a decent player AND two picks, even if they are late rounders. Late rounders can always be used to move up spots.

Eh, Hillis is very versatile. He can be a running back and a receiving FB. He's perfect for the WCO at both spots because he's a good receiver.

If he's perfect for a WCO player - there's the answer.
We get rid of a wannabe, and get someone that will help us.
Personally, I'm all giddy knowing we will see something/someone different in 2010!! I couldn't take anymore DA v BQ or anyone else thrown in the mix with one of those two. It may be better, I suppose it might be worse, but it'll be different and I'm down with that!
Quote: Adios Captain Checkdown! Take Brady's Brats with you.
Seriously??
I wish him well. I have no idea if he will amount to anything in Denver but it was pretty clear to me it wasn't going to happen here.I guess we should be rooting for him to be a good starter if it helps us with the conditional picks.
