Got it: http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/35864201/ns/sports-player_news/Scout.com's Adam Caplan reports that the Raiders have acquired OLB Kamerion Wimbley from the Browns in exchange for "undisclosed draft compensation."

Wow - if true - and I have no reason to doubt it - we are cleaning house.
Fraley - gone. Anderson - gone. Quinn - gone. Hadnot - gone. Heidan - gone. Wimbley - gone.
Who'm I missing?

Wow, didn't see that one coming. Oh well, I hope we got decent value for him. More importantly, I hope Ryan is getting the players he needs.

Me too. A little shocked. Oh well, he was a bit of a dud.
Actually, I'm more shocked the Broncos didn't trade for him.
Good luck in Oakland Kam. Sorry it didn't work out better.
...and the cleanup of the Browns continues.

I remember Al Davis tried to get Wimbley (and Winslow) when Savage called to inquire about trading up to no. 1 to pick Russell. Savage said no, so we picked Thomas. So, I guess Davis finally got his guy. That being said, since it's Al Davis, I'll be disappointed if the draft picks we received in return are anything less than this year's 1st and next year's 1st and 2nd.
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

Holy Cow... I mean, I didn't know he was even being shopped.. wow..
Wonder what we got for him?
The other day, in response to someone who said we are rebuilding,, I said, no, I think it's more reloading...
GEESH,, I've been wrong many times in my life... MANY TIMES,,
I guess I can chalk up another time I'm wrong...

Does anyone have any idea on the actual compensation yet?? I would hope we got a pretty decent 2010 pick for the guy based on the story i read. If Davis came calling about KW then I hope this pick is at least a 4th rounder in 2010.............I mean come on it's Al Davis....

no way, Bfs79. No way.
But only because they already traded 2011 1st rounder to ne for Seymour.
I'm hopingfor a third or fourth.

Reports are that it's for a 3rd rounder this year. According to Mort, that is.

Two years left on his contract. Is there a chance we may have gotten Oakland's third? If so, that's a steal.

No problem, but you don't reload a team that was challenged to win...you make changes.
Not unexpected.....teams do it every time.

C'mon Peen. They guy is far from a Wimp. He was a terrible pick for us but he played hard, ever complained. I hope the guy has quite a few more years in this league.

Hopefully at least a third no less than a four. My luck...a conditional 5th.

This really surprised me. I dont care what some ppl say on here, he was very solid player. Sad to see him go, he was one of my favorite players to talk to at TC as well. I hope its for a 2/3rd pick, thats my hope/anticipation.

I have always liked Wimbley. I talked to him very shortly a few years ago at the Draft Day Party and he was a really nice guy. I definitely hope he has a lot of good years in this league.

Adam Scheftler is reporting that alot of teams were in the Kam derby, and the Raiders won because they had the highest 3rd rounder.
I've often said that Kam wasn't nearly as bad as people on here make him out to be, but we are getting a high 3rd rounder in a deep draft for him. This was a very good trade for the Browns.

He was solid compared to the crap around him at LB. He's a rotational LB'er in Pitt or other places. He's most certainly replaceable though, and if you can get a 3rd rounder for him, you take it and run.
you had a good run Hank.

Sure P...he's a good guy who tried hard....I still think he is a Wimp....as with anyone, I wish him well.....he just didn't fit here....maybe Oakland is his ticket.

To be honest I am not really shocked by this at all. It was well known Kam wasn't a good fit as a OLB for us. In fact I think us trading Kam can be traced to two things. 1) The Braylon Edwards trade as it brought us Trunisk 2) The Dolphins cutting Roth and Stafford beating us
WIth Trunisk and Roth I thought Wimbley would see the bench this year for us. At least we got a high 3 rounder for him which could turn into a OG/RT. Honestly we have to be amassing these picks for something. I will definitely taking the draft days off from work this year.
Good luck to Wimbley.
Go Browns!!

I'm hoping we can parlay this 3rd into a move up from the 2nd into the later first to snag Brandon Graham and still get Jerry in the third

Well conditional picks still haven't been award and we are probably getting one for Jones and maybe one for Davis. But before the Quinn/Wimbley trade I believe we had 12 picks. So if we get two conditional picks we could be up to 14-15.
Go Browns!!
