We have several picks in the first 4 rounds (not sure on the # but around 5 i think) so we will see more guys we deem as good talent.....gone in order to acomadate these low round picks. I guess i meen more griping and moaning to come.... Its really a good thing and some exciting days coming up.

I think I am going to just go with silhouettes instead of actual players haha....looks like I am going to have to PM my trusty sig maker haha
and the was because my head is spinning with all these moves we have and are going to be making. Oaklands 3rd is pretty much a late round 2nd.....good because this draft is very deep.....hope we dont screw it up tho!

How many picks do we have now??
Well, we picked up one for Quinn for this year and if this Wimbley thing is real, we got another so at the very least, 13.. and that's without any conditional picks..
if I understand things correctly, we could add at least one more maybe even two conditional picks.
I'd say 13 now and could be as high as 15..
Geesh, this draft is gonna be fun to watch.....LOL

The Browns currently have 12 draft picks in these following rounds: 1, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 5, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6.

We will see alot of trading this draft........no way we bring in 15 rookies. I say at the most is 10, and the rest will be used to move up or traded away for future picks.

If we got 2 conditional 2011 picks for Quinn, and a 3rd this year for Whimbley, then we have 12 (thus far, not counting any compensatory picks, and some sites project us with 2 coming our way) that could become 14 ... and 9 picks next year.
Remember that we also traded a lot within the 2009 draft for additional and future picks .... and that could play a bit in this draft as well. I would think that it would be hard to put 12-14 draft picks on a team no matter how bad that team is. My guess is that we'll make some additional trades for future value during the draft ..... or package some picks to make a few moves up.

I believe we only have one 2011 pick for Quinn, and one 2012 pick. Also, we gave up one pick for Wallace, so that evens it out at 7.

Some of these picks will be used to move up for a QB imo. I think we will be looking for a QB to take over the reigns next year.

I'm not exactly thrilled with this trade...although Matt Roth and Marcus Benard's emergence make him expendable.
I wanted to see a full year of Roth and Wimbley rushing the QB. Wimbley was a terror until he got the flu.

I was thinking that there was a swap of picks involved in the Wallace deal. Maybe I'm thinking of a different deal. All this wheeling and dealing is making my head spin .....

I hope they trade some of those picks for players currently on other teams. How about a #2 CB ,a free safety, a good back-up center and a vet WR.
For some reason it has been a buyer's market this year.

I agree. I will be shocked if we don't trade up to get a QB in rounds 1 (I still think it will be here for SB/JC) or 2. There is noway we are drafting a late round guy who needs 2 or 3 years to develop.
JD is 35 years old and is here on a very short contract. The future QB needs to be ready by next year, and your not getting that with a later round developmental project.
Furthermore, there has to be somebody they really like in this draft or they wouldn't have went this route. No imo they have already targeted their guy, and will make sure that they get him.

This is going to be an awesome and exciting draft!
And it could very well go down as the draft that turns this team back around, especially with MH and Heckert in control!

Caught me off guard a bit with this one.
I think Mike and the boys were bored outta their minds in Berea today.
Wimbley was a solid player for us. He wasn't a stud, he wasn't a stand out, but he wasn't as bad as some are saying he was. But we didn't do too badly in getting a high 3rd rounder for him.

As a Raiders fan, I am wondering what you all think of Wimbley.
Some people seem glad to see him go and others don't. Is he a hard working guy? And do you think this was a bad move for Oakland (most of Al's moves are)?

He is as hardworking and classy as they come. You got a great locker room guy.
I tend to think it was a poor move for you guys, mainly because I don't see where he fits in a 4-3.

If. as reported, we got the Raiders third rounder, I am very happy with this trade. Wimbley wasn't too bad, but I think you can aquire a better player than him with that pick.

Why? Who needs details for why something pisses someone off? Guess we're all supposed to be pumped for a 3rd round pick and a decent RB.

I hope this isn't too far off topic. - I keep hearing that Holmgren and co. are building the offense via fa and the defense via the draft. - I have a feeling we are going to take a lot of defensive players with these picks.

So what do we have?
1st 2nd 3-3rd (Ours, Jets, Raiders) 4th 4-5ths (Ours, Tampa Bay's, Jets, The pick from the Corey Williams trade) 6th 7th (?)

He had 4 sacks in the first 5 games of the year, then he got the flu. That was without Matt Roth on the other side.

Wimbley was one of those guys that homers around here would make excuses for. A QB would be flushed right to him and Wimply would finish up the play and because he got a sack,he was "improving". Yet he only had one pass rush move and that he learned by playing Madden all these years. another example why Phil Savage is no one longer a GM,yet he was applauded by some.

I think it's a good trade for the Browns, because Kam just isn't an impact player and we got a high 3rd for him. He isn't a bad player (although some here hate him because he didn't live up to expectations), but he isn't a real difference maker. As a matter of fact his biggest knock has been his lack of pass rushing moves. He will never be an impact pass rusher, and that is probably what Al got him to be.
So in short, I think the Raiders over payed for a guy who is solid, but is nowhere near the pass rusher you guys should be wanting giving up a high 3rd rounder........jmho.

Jaw dropper for me. Seemed to work hard and played tough. Just never developed as well as I hoped he might. Glad we got something for him. Possibly high third charity giveaway. Seems like a solid guy; thanks for the3 past few, good luck in all the rest.

Wimbley became expendable when Roth was acquired by wavers, Trusnik by trade, Bernard from the practice squad and Fujita via free agency.
Your question will get mixed answers. IMO Wimbley was an average OLB that never lived up to his 1st round draft status. He will be a fine rotational player at the least. As a starter however, he is average at best. He is durable and you can count on him to be there and work hard. good character.
