I don't see any talented pass rushers coming out this year that I want on this team..
I just want Berry and Spikes and I could care less about the rest.. well I take that back.. Now i'm interested on what QB we will take.

Alright, thanks everyone for the feedback. Al supposedly wanted him a few years ago, so it is probably due to pass rushing.
Our LBs do need to be better against the run, though. That is, if we have him play LB.

Good trade for both teams. Bernard and Hall gives u the same as Wimbley and arguably have as much upside.

So he had the flu forthe remaining 11 weeks of the season? And with Roth on the other side. I have been saying for over 3 seasons that he is,in fact, the worse OLB in the entire NFL.He is god-awful horrible against,he is god-awful horrible holding the edge, and pass rushing skills are non-existant.Speed,that's his only game. And it didn't take very long for other teams to take that away from him. BigWillie,I had zero expectations of him when he was drafted, didn't like that move.I thought I was wrong after his rookie year, but, well I guess not.
Indecision may,or maynot,be my problem

IMO Wimbley was an average OLB that never lived up to his 1st round draft status. He will be a fine rotational player at the least. As a starter however, he is average at best. He is durable and you can count on him to be there and work hard. good character
Line...I agree...Wimbley was a solid, "average" OLB for the Browns and paid as if he was a Pro Bowler.
If the Browns do receive the Raiders 3rd rounder, it should be #69, which will be the 5th pick in the 3rd round.

Just got home and was surprised to see the Browns moved so quickly on Quinn. But in complete shock to see that Wimbley had been dealt as well. I cannot wait for April 22-24 because the Browns as we have known them since 1999 are done. Holmgren and Heckart are cleaning up a decade of mistakes and getting ready to restock the team with football players...not pretenders. I expect them to come up with at least 3, maybe 4 starters and at least 3, maybe 4 significant contributors from this draft class.
Good luck to Kam and Brady. Unfortunately, you just weren't good enough to play for the new Cleveland Browns.

After this trade we will be able to do whatever we want in the draft. Move up from 7. Move back into the 1st round. Get an extra 2nd rounder.
This draft will be pretty crazy.

I was trying to think of a reply, and you just said it for me.
Why people are upset with losing players that have not brought winning to Cleveland is confounding. Wimbley was a good guy, but a marginal player. He is a situational type guy, not a starter that should be getting paid big money.

just because we have a ton of picks does not mean we are bringing in winners and no pretenders.. omg..
Some of you have just given holmgren the red carpet... Look at his history.. He's no different than any other GM. You get a few good ones.. Lose on a few bad ones...
The more picks we have, the better chance he lands a good player. thats it.

I think getting a high 3rd round pick for Wimbley is a steal. Especially with the emergence of Jason Trusnik and Matt Roth who are both at least equally as good as Wimbley.

emergence of Trusnik? huh?
I'd pick Benard and Hall over him anyday.

Although i think MH and TH as a combo and bringing such a wealth of knowledge will give us unarguable the best chance "to actually have" as solid of a draft as we have ever had. I feel rather certain of that.

No. Wimbley played OLB in the 3-4. Fujita will play inside.

That is the really frustrating thing about hitting the reset button every couple of years... every new GM/HC/OC/DC has their wish list for players and we toss out a lot of decent players (receiving little in return) to get "their guys" into the fold.

The Saints run a completely different defense than us. We run a 3-4 they run a 4-3.

This.
I did say I would gladly take a Mac Snackwrap for him so the 3rd rounder is just great news. I love the flexibility and ammunition we have for this draft.

bernard/hall/trusnik in the scheme made wimbley relatively expendable but to get a 3rd is great for us. this draft is going to be awesome!
love wimbley as a character guy with a great motor but he just wasn't enough of a difference maker. even though he was picked in the middle of the 1st, that's still some cap saving too. we are going to be in great shape assuming a cap is coming back anytime soon.

I have no problem at getting rid of decent players.
Decent players are interchangeable, it's why they are only decent and not good or great.
I'd rather rebuild now than trying to bring some illusion that we'll compete this year. Although, I must say, I'm not very heart broken about anyone we lost talent wise. I wish they all panned out, but they didn't so get rid of them.
you had a good run Hank.

Yep,...the fifth release of The Living Word and Fan Gospel, Cleveland Browns Edition. Since the premise is cast in stone, there's probably an ISBN for it.

I went to a hockey gamne tonight and while gone, some former 1st round picks were dumped. I like both trades,,, liked Kam but he didn't develop to anything above average. Good luck Kamerion you seem like a great guy & hard worker. We needed more from ya dude, considering where you were taken.
We will look stupid of BQ develops into something really great but I doubt he will and either way, it was time to move on. Man, all these picks. What a wacky draft we might have.

There's a chance that Holmgren knows Bradford isn't going to drop to 7 and he needs the third to trade up. At least that's what I'm hoping is going on.

I think that it's more likely that we take a guy in round 2 or 3, have him sit and learn for a year, and then hand him the keys.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

I have read a few places that for the Browns to move up in round one to be in position for a qb, it would cost them a 3rd rounder.....hmmmmm, now we have one to play with, and one to keep..
