Hey all, I was grouting the new tile in our bathroom and in the process, got called out to a family emergency, so i had little time to clean up. So as you can imaging, I have a bit of a mess on my hands.
Does anyone know how to get the dried grout off of the bath tub without destroying it?
Crowded elevators smell different to short people...

the dynamite option came to mind, but i think there are zone issues.

A plastic putty knife works well....

If it's a smooth ceramic tile, use a razor blade and scrape it off like you would a window sticker. Once you get the majority of it off, you can use muriatic acid (sp?) to get the "haze" off... check the website or call the tile manufacturer to make sure the acid won't hurt the tile and make sure you use it according to specs, but it should work.

You probably want a .05% solution or less (ask the tile mfg) but what you find on the shelf may be anywhere up to 17%.

OK this is how I got it off my tub,,, My wife buys these scrubbys for pots and pans,, it's green and kinda rectangular in shape.. you are gonna need one of those,.
take a thick wet rag,,,prefer super hotwater,, put the wet towel on the grout you want to remove.. let it sit for 10 minutes or so... Take the towel off and use the scrubby to remove the grout..
Now BE CAREFUL to rub very lightly because those scrubbys will really scratch the surface of the tubb...you need to very gently rub the area...,,
Rewet the towel with hot water and do it all over again,,,, at some point, you will be able to use a paper towel to rub the balance of the grout off,,
that worked for me,,,but I can't stress enough to be gentle when using the scrubby....

Get a grout knife.. pretty cheap Home Depot or Lowes..

I wouldn't use that on the bath tub. Seems like it would be too abrasive.
