I'm getting tired of using a TV tray for my laptop (not to mention does a number on my back when at it for awhile) and was curious if anyone has any suggestions of what to use when on my laptop for a tray/desk type thing? I use this laptop mainly while sitting on the couch so that's the biggest consideration at this point.

What I've found so far is...

Portable desk thing from Bed Bath n Beyond

Airdesk

Lounge-tek

The best is the airdesk for what I want, problem is that a review site I found didn't have the best customer reviews of it (biggest complaint was flimsy). The lounge-tek is nice, but doesn't have an arm that swings, which is what I wanted.

Any ideas or suggestions out there?

Thanks!

When I'm in my living room I have my Laptop on my coffee table, but with a 1yo and an almost 3yo I don't do that often. Most of the time it's on my desk in my office where they can't grab it.

IMO the one from Bed Bath and Beyond looks the best. The Lounge-tek one all of the pictures the people are leaning at an angle. I've tried that before and I tell you it was very uncomfortable and I was constenly moving and trying to get situated every few minutes. The air desk one looks flimsy and I'd only suggest one to people who don't have pets or kids otherwise you might find it on the floor and laptop broken.

Here is something I got from Herman Miller (I think they call it a Scooter). It was a little pricey, but it does exactly what I need/want it to do. When my laptop is docked, it serves as an adjustable keyboard tray that I can easily slide under my desk. When I want to work with the TV on (say... during The Masters broadcast), I take this down to my living room and use my laptop on it.

My roommate has a nice little computer stand that was about 15 bucks that she got at Wal-Mart. You can adjust it up and down, plus the tray tilts.

Same here. Why get a laptop if you need a desk?

Because if I want to take my PC to work I don't feel like carrying a huge CPU, Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse and assorted cords around with me.

I dont have room for a desk in my apartment. Plus I like the portability. I have a stand that is basically a tv tray that I put it on next to my bed, but majority of the time, its in my lap.
