So, let's see...what else is going on in the world....

It's spring. The flowers are pushing up through the ground, the trees are budding, and unfortunately, the grass is growing. I need a new mower this year. Fun stuff. I also get to fix some ruts in my yard from the dolt I have for a neighbor who decided it would be fun to play in my ditch with his 4-wheeler in the snow. I feel like sending him a bill.

What else is going on?

My 11 month old daughter got a yeast infection and they told us to give her yogurt. We gave her strawberry yogurt and it died her poop red.

Coaster season is about to start. Kings Island opens in less than a month with Waldameer and Cedar Point opening a few weeks after that.

Went to a birthday celebration a few years back with the person turning 40.....and there was black icing on the cake.

Everybody pooped black for 3 days after.

Didn't you already get one a few years ago because someone who shall remain nameless basically ran the mower over a fallen tree...or did I dream that whole thing??

Yes, you remember correctly and that one was new. But...there was an unfortunate accident with the flapper thing that hangs down in the back and there are now issues that would cost more to repair than replace.

I was considering getting a riding mower, but our gates aren't large enough to get one through and there's also a storage issue. Guess I'll keep my lazy ass walking.

how about Baseball (not the tribe)? The Reds look to be about the same as last year unfortunately. T-ball is starting soon for daughter, that should be fun.

Took the cover off of the Cobra over the weekend and fired it up. Took a quick cruise around the block, now need to do a little spring maintenance on her.

Also just got back from golfing at Pebble Beach - took my pops their for his birthday as it is someplace every golfer should play once in their lifetime. My dad would never pay for it himself, so I figured I'd get it for his b-day as a general thank you to him for being such a great dad and instilling values in me to get me to where I am today. We played Pebble, Spyglass, and Spanish Bay - a truly awesome (and ridiculously expensive) time.

My little girl will be 1.5 years old on April 13. - She is doing great, and is totally hilarious. A great kid. I love her so much.

My mom's 60th birthday is coming up in December. - All 5 of us kids are making a big deal about it and are planning everything now. We're all going to pitch in and throw a big party with family and her friends from throughout the years. Then we are flying her to Vegas for 3-4 days. - Mom deserves it.

Lots of leaves left over in my backyard. - I may buy a blower this year to make the cleanup easier on myself.

Graduate classes are going well. - First semester ever taking online courses. They are effective, convenient, and make you work just as hard as conventional courses do.

Looking forward to the NBA playoffs.

My wife is looking forward to going to a few Indians games this season, although I want to boycott.

Golf - I can't wait to start golfing again.

I'm headed out to Vegas in a few hours.

Going to play some poker, and bet hard on the ncaa tourney.Probably will make a strong play on syracuse, and duke money line in a 2 team parlay. I've read there's plenty of fish at the MGM as far as poker goes.

I was playing down in Charleston last week at the 1/2 no limit cash table and this drunk guy was calling everything, and I mean everything and freaking winning. One guy pre-flop bet $100 on an AK suited and the guy called him. The flop was 7A3 so the guy with the AK went all in, got called by the drunk guy who had a freakin 73 off suit! He freakin called $100 pre-flop with that; I thought the other dude was going to kill him as his all in was over $400.

I left the table for the night after that and went and played 3 and 4 card poker.

I was playing at mountaineer a few weeks ago $1-2 no-limit. One player raised to $17. A few players fold, and I have AK off, so I raise to $50. THe original raiser goes all-in for $200 total. I call, and the cards came out 2-8-10-4-7. He flips over 2-7 to win the hand.

With a lot of spring breakers being out there, I expect that kind of wild play. I'm just going to be patient and hopefully pounce on their mistakes.

Awesome! My son goes for his freshman orientation at the University of Louisville in less than three months. Enjoy every minute you can with the little guy, because, I swear, time speeds up exponentially as they grow up. Before you know it, you're looking at sending them off on their own.

My next door neighbors just moved.

There is a house across the street from mine that has been vacant since I bought my house. (almost 3 years now) The other day there was some guy working in there doing something. He was there for about 5 or 6 hours ... and lugged in some rather large crates or boxes.

Then he left and hasn't been back.

Hopefully they don't find bodies or something over there one day ....

In other news, my uncle has a had a screech owl take residence in the large birdhouse he put up. We're going down to see it this weekend and hopefully hear it after the sun goes down. We're all hoping it makes a nest . . .

i remember going face to face with a little owl back 3 years ago. it was crazy, we both just stood there, staring at each other, like an old west shootout. right in the middle of a driveway, i almost ran him over when i pulled up. awesome looking animals.

what's up with me?

i recently dropped out of school. didn't feel i was making the proper decision on it. didn't feel i was spending my money properly. sucks because the credits aren't transferable, so i'm out a few thousand dollars. but i felt it was the right decision. i talked to a ton of people, and nobody tried to talking me into staying. so i feel better about the whole thing, just a little bummed. i will look at other schools in the summer and hopefully start again in the fall. until then, i get to relax, i really burned myself out the last 6 and a half months.

i got a shutout last friday night. it was great because there was a ton of people in the stands (we usually play late so there are only a few girlfriends and buddies in the stands) this time it was an 8pm start on a friday night. i made a pretty nifty save at the end of the game, the guy wound up and shot one from the blue line, with a guy set up in front of me he tried deflecting it to the corner of the net and i got him with my glove. felt good.

can't wait for the nba playoffs, as someone mentioned before. cleveland better gear up. people's livers better gear up. this is gonna be fun.

an entire family was murdered, with the exception of a young girl, a few weeks ago. you may have read about it as it did get national headlines, they live roughly about half a mile away. sad story. they found the 2 guys that did it though.

p.s. i got a copy of the new deftones album and it's really, really good.

My life will soon be in shambles ,...M-I-L is moving here with S-I-L in tow.

Just kidding,...it was MY idea,...

Knocking a line off the Bucket List in April,...old military buddy is taking me to Talledega !

I'm back to working with middle-schoolers for a little while,...Coach asked me to come back and be the pit boss Nazi.

The big home improvement project is laying 700 square feet of laminate flooring. We wanted Dominion to do it in hardwood when we built, but it "wasn't an option" then -- of course it is, now . I also have two big deck projects here at home, and all of the bosses' deck work yet too,...it will be a busy summer. I love to do the handyman thing. Good beer money.

Anybody wanting to chime in on whether I should peel up the the kitchen linoleum to level the entire first floor, OR, build up the carpeted areas with Luaun,...opinions very welcomed -- (just a tad afraid the extra height would screw up the dishwasher reinstall,...)

Still trying to "catch" Neil Peart,...

Life post-college is good. I love my job. My only issue is waiting to be brought on as a salaried employee instead of hourly like I am currently (something that was discussed with me when I was brought on originally). Sort of getting frustrated, I'm "outplaying my contract" I guess you could say, it's time to pay the man.

Ready to move out.

Looking at cars...love the new upcoming Chevy Cruze.

Getting really excited for the Browns...and hoping the Cavs win it all.

Otherwise, dedicated to my work. Life is good!

Hmm, I know I don't have a cult-like following here or even contingency of folks who know who/what the hell I am, but I'll play.

I'm moving back home to Jackson, MI from the bay area. I know. Why would I move away from the weather, beach, all that good crap. Well, my one year hiatus from Smalltown, USA was enough. I've learned more about myself this year than any other and have never been more comfortable in my own skin despite not having the same outside superficial forces working for me at peak levels (i.e. fitness, social network I'd been accustomed to, etc.). I don't know. I just decided I'd rather settle back home for a bit, become a better, more involved family member, spend time with the friends I've grown up with all my life, and just focus on school for a bit or whatever may interest me for a career. I'm 21, and although the herd around me is panicking that they don't know what they want to be when they grow up, I'm confident I'm going in the right direction and will figure it out, despite not having a clear picture as to what exactly it is.

Life being beautiful and the circle continuing... that's what's going on. I'm enjoying the ride.

Hey Ive got a little tip on taking up your lino for you. Set your depth on a circular saw to the height of the flooring, and then cut it into 1 by 1 squares throughout your kitchen, or larger if your can handle it. Will come up like cake assuming its a modern stapled down install. 3 passes with a sharp utility knife will get the last few inches against walls or cabinets where your saw wont fit.

Just got back last night from Bristol - the nascar race. Got my nose sunburned real bad.

Chatted with a friend from Columbus that we see in Bristol every year. He works at a hospital in Columbus - gave me names and numbers for my son to get ahold of to get an interview. My son graduates in early May, in nursing. That was encouraging.

And for all of you that have a mis-conception about me - that I have no heart - when we got the info from the school about my son's graduation, I was crying as I read it. I don't look forward to the graduation for me at all - I'll be the guy bawling.

I do look forward to it for my son though.

My daughter was one of only 7 in her class that learned her multiplication facts up through 12. She leaves for Florida this saturday with grandma, grandpa, and 4 cousins for a week.

I've got tomato plants that are close to 12" tall already

I didn't get to grow any tomato last year, nor much basil... I'll have oodles this year.

I've got 12 Roma, 12 Costolutto & 12 Big Boy plants, plus 6 Genovese Basil..... I'm gonna be a sandwich eatin fool

I need to give my mower a tune-up sometime this week. It'll be time to mow soon enough.

Hmm... What's goin' on with me?...

Well, I just got back from Detroit/Windsor.

Lost $200 at the blackjack table Saturday night in Windsor in less than 10 min. I felt like Clark on Vegas Vacation

It wasn't too bad though, since I had won about $400 on Friday night playing blackjack at MGM in Detroit.

Other than that, not too much. Finally getting ready to go back to work (I got laid off in January). I start back April 5th.

But, for now, I'm just enjoying sittin' back and watching March Madness

We planted some tomato plants, some peppers, and a watermelon plant a few years ago. We got a ton of tomatoes and peppers, but the watermelon didn't turn out so good, lol. It ended up looking like a goofy cucumber.

Anyway, we haven't planted stuff in our garden for about 2 years, but every year, little tomato plants pop up. The tomatoes aren't really big enough to do anything with, but I'm always amazed how they keep coming back even though we don't do any work on them.

You know, I may have to take a trip down your way at some point. It likely wouldn't be this year (already have vacations planned), but I know that in February/March/April, I always get a little antsy to get out of the cold weather.

Thanks Rage,...!! Great tip,...but right now, I'm leaning toward "building up" the rest of the flooring,....that way if anyone ever wanted to go back to linoleum in the kitchen -- it would be "done."

My little girl will be 2.5 in May and is a total joy. I think she's smarter than me.

I just brought my first Harley home last Friday (great ride into the city from Tinley Park - 32 miles). My dad just got his new Kawaski too. We are planning a few road trips with each other. Gonna be fun.

He's coming up to Chicago to help me install forward controls, new pegs, solo rack, and maybe passenger pegs. I'd like to install new pipes but I might wait to buy the whole Stage 1 later in the summer. He always wanted me to get into engines when I was young....but I liked video games, girls, and skateboarding instead. So it's a chance to have some cool father/son time we missed out on a long time ago.

And my 23-year old nephew just bought his first Harley yesterday (2010 Super Glide). Crazy!

I haven't been working out much recently....want to start the p90x routine all over again.

I don't know much about them at all, except that they are listed as being a "slicer" like Big Boy's... however, just now in trying to find info on them, I stumbled across a page that says they have an *extremely* strong tomato flavor, and as such may probably be best served for making a sauce as they are too strong raw.

I reckon I'll find out in a couple of months

I don't think anyone has ever accused you of not having a heart, just being a little rough around the edges.

I currently have Bronchitis. I just finished a research paper worth half of my grade. I can't wait for summer, but I don't have a job because hardly any high schoolers here do. I am very excited for the draft, despite the NFL screwing it up and putting it on Thursday-Saturday.
