Dude is the worst football player on the team. I don't care what round a kid is drafted - if I see you on the field and you are repeatedly beat and repeatedly blow plays, I don't like you.
I don't care where the bonus comes from - it's a joke that he got it. It speaks to the dearth of talent we have in the secondary that this joke of a cornerback continues to play as much as he has.
Top that off with the "woman beater" thing - albeit alledgedly at this point - and he's even higher on my personal you-know-what-list.
This football team will be better the second Brandon McDonald in no longer a part of it.

poteat (no longer on the team) royal trusnik st. clair (no longer on team) sorensen billy yates Veikune Francies was inactive most of the year brady quinn (no longer with team) derek anderson (no longer with team) bret ratliff (couldn't beat out quinn or anderson)
IMO all worse than McD. All made more money than him except yates and francies. That's about 20% of the roster... pretty far from the worst on the team.
And before you take issue with the trusnik selection, watch the replay of SD's fullback taking a pass over the middle 65 yards for a TD. Trusnik was supposed to be covering him. He was WAAAAY out of position and the FB ran away from him like he was Chris Johnson after the catch. That was downright pathetic.

So Trusnik is worse than McDonald because he had one bad play?
That doesn't make sense. He was one of our key players in the last four games.

The egg McMuffing in the beginning was to be almost like a Eggs Benedict with a hollandaise and softer center, but after some testing before product rollout it was determined to drop the sauce and cook the yolk...to messy.
Those eggs are just poached in a egg rig, yolk slightly broken until hard cooked.
Biscuit eggs are beat eggs ladled on to the grill.
So McPeen, what brand of coffee do they use?

There were several plays that game in particular where he was out of position. That play was just the most egregious and easily recollected example. His play did improve later in the year.
My main point is that it would be a lot easier to improve the team by upgrading Trusnik's spot (and the others I listed) than replacing McDonald.

Here's a eye opener for you..the Browns will get a corner to put opposite Wright..it will move McFooled U,to the nickle or to the bench. This is so offbase it's not even funny. He is practically worthless in the starting lineup.... I know corners pretty good..and he isn't a good corner.

I'm totally fine with him playing the nickel. In fact, I'd prefer him to play there. Like I was saying earlier, he was put in a position (expected starter) that he probably shouldn't have been... just like when the John Lucas kamikaze made Ricky Davis their star/leader. It was done just because they had nobody better. That doesn't mean he's "the worst player on the team."

LOL....well, I do like McDonalds.....but around the house I have been using Seattle's Best for a while now.
I had been using Starbucks house roast for a long time, but could never get it to taste smooth enough....like in the shops, while this Seattle's seems a little smoother, and it is around $7 a lb v the $8 for Starbucks...so I think I will stick with it.
I use a Krupps coffee maker if you were wondering.

Haden is a physical corner, which I like..the cloud is his actual game speed which is what I care about..he's able to matchup and run downfield but needs to work a bit on his backpeddle/break to the ball ..Florida schemed him to play the shorter side of the field ..I think he's capable..and here's what I'm looking at..he and a few others are head and shoulders above McDonald..which is the one I want replaced..
The others I like are Brandon Ghee/ Wake Forest..good instincts, excellent speed, can play man/zone,very fluid and turn and run..does gamble a bit on a play. Devin McCourty/Rutgers..almost the same type as Ghee..but a bit more inconsistant, but a good prospect. Also Patrick Robinson/FSU Kyle Wilson/Boise St.. Chris Cook/Virginia..watch this one closely..I hear the Browns like him a lot.

I wouldn't worry much about haydens game speed.
After his poor combine showing, most comments were they couldn't believe the time as it didn't show up on tape.
If he doesn't end up a very good player, I doubt it will be because of speed issues....at least as things stand today.
I hadn't really noticed him being slotted to the short side. I didn't see all the games...missed a couple, and to be honest didn't really pay attention to what you mentioned, but I saw him being matched up more on specific receivers. In many cases you might want your best receiver on the short side....motion the other way or to cover for some inadequateness in the opposing QBs ability to throw the out to the wide side of the field.
I also think it due to Hadens ability to recover...the longer the ball is in the air, the better off he is....I think other teams decided you had to beat him early and get the ball there early.
Limit the amount of space in which he could mess things up...go the other way and have him as far away as possible.

Got ya....when it comes to DB's, we seem to be on the same page and have for several years now....though I don't think McDonald quite as bad as you...we are just forced to start him wide. Put him in a nickel or dime and the guy isn't as worthless as last months coupon.

just clickin' Deepthreat.
What has the dawgtalk community become? Are we really complaining about a guy who gets paid performance based escalators? REALLY?!?.
Personally, I don't care what the amount is, I hope every player we have hits every performance bonus built into his contract.
People, Seeing this as anything other than a good thing is twisted.
Next thing you know people will complain if our team gets playoff checks because they only made it to the first round.
I don't think folks would complain about this as a performance bonus, because it isn't. It is a bonus going to a player who was one of our weaker points on the team, who played because we had nobody better to put in his place, and he got the bonus based on the perceived discrepancy between his pay and the amount of playing time he got.
As for me, however, I don't care. He shouldn't have ever been more than a Nickleback here, and he'll be back in that role by summer. If he can get some bonus money along the way, more power to him because I don't see him ever hitting the big payday as a free agent.
With a top flight safety this kid looks a LOT better. I like it how quickly people can turn on a kid that has shown some real flashes of Talent. Glad he got paid.

The problem is that it has only been flashes, there's been no consistency; and he's given up more big plays than anyone on our defense.
He's a good nickle, but I think that's about it. The year he first showed up, he was at Nickle and did really well. He was thrown into the starting role and survived, but he's kinda like our QB's the last few years..... there's enough of those occassional teases that he could make the leap, but they never do.
He is what he is, and that is a player whose good plays come purely from guessing and taking chances.... but he guesses wrong as often as he does right. Did you not ever notice that any time an opposing offense needed to move the ball (if Poteat wasn't on the field), they threw at McDonald and would march down the field.
Yes, a pair of good safeties back there will help, but that is covering up a deficiency, not rectifying it. Big difference.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.
