if the raps win, they are gonna put that series on the backburner. no bosh. cavs easily sweep that series.

i give the chicago series a game. i think cavs win the first two, split in chicago and finish them off at home, at the very latest.

Basically, if the Raptors win, we get them.

Prp, don't be so sure.. The Bobcats are completely locked into the 7 seed, so they won't be playing for ANYTHING tomorrow night.. Probably a good chance that Stephen Jackson gets heavy rest, etc.

I guess what I am sayin is that if the Bulls win tonight against Boston, they will face a Charlotte team that may be throwing out their backups for the entire 2nd half tomorrow..

IF Chicago gets past Boston, I would agree... but right now the odds would favor us playing Toronto, and having a first round sweep and lots more rest.
Boston still has something to play for, however... they're trying to wrap up the #3 seed.

I want Boston just for my own self satisfaction. What would be the better scenario for the team I have no idea, but I'm leaning towards Atlanta because they won't play us as physical and they probably won't try to deliberately injure our players like Boston will. Neither team can beat us in 7 though, that's for sure as you can get before it actually happens.

Atlanta clinched the 3rd spot with Boston's loss to Chicago tonight. Celtics clinched 4th...

Ok, looks like we have Boston in the second round, and Orlando faces the winner of Atl/ and mil?

Boston will most likely play the Heat in the first round and that's not a guarantee that they'll beat them. The Heat have ended the season on a hot streak...

i wouldn't put it past the bulls to soil themselves tomorrow night, even if guys get rest.

but it should be them who grabs that last spot.

can't wait to get this thing goin. i think the cavs come out like a pack of hungry wolves on saturday.

Kind of amazing to me that Boston couldn't beat the Bulls when the #3 seed was still up for grabs. I think it just speaks to where they are as a team.

The Cavs own the Hawks, so obviously that was an easier potential match-up but I really want to be the ones who send Boston home. I'm sure LeBron would agree.

With that said, I unfortunately think Miami will knock them out. The Heat are really hot right now. (9-1) over their last 10 and playing some really good basketball. Boston, on the other hand, has been awful (4-6). 3 of the 6 losses were to the Bulls, Wizards and Knicks. Ouch.

the Celtics are a mess right now. and it is very possible that the Heat send them home.

however, i just don't see it. the C's have noone who can defend Wade (Rondo's D is the most over-rated thing in the NBA), but Boston has so many big bodies underneath that if they get any outside shooting, they should be too much for Miami.

plus, I too want to send Boston on vacation.

I agree, NoLogo..

I think Boston knows that they may not be championship conteders at this point, but I think they have one goal in mind, which is playing Cleveland and knocking us out..

I honestly think Doc and Co. would consider it somewhat of a salvaged season even if they were to get smacked around in the ECF..

Bottom line, Boston wants us bad, and would be EXTREMELY motivated in a series with us..

For that reason alone, I think they find a way to get past Miami..

sign me up for sending the celtics home.

they don't scare me at all. they'll put up a fight, but i think over the course of a 7 game series, they're gonna mail it in. it's almost like the roles are reversed from 2008, except that the 08 cavs were scrappy (they had to be) where i think this celtics team has no motivation. that motivation went out the window when those 3, who were annual playoff losers most of their careers, finally got that ring.

these cavs are as good as they come, but, they still have that chip on their shoulder because i think people still doubt them, and they have nothing in hand right now.

I agree. I got my dad Indians tickets for Sunday and was sweating out if he was going to have to listen to the Cavs game on the radio while at the game.

and, i love the 3pm slot (unlike most it seems). perfect mid-afternoon relaxation after I get a bunch of work done around the house in the morning.

If there's anyone else in Chicago, I just bought tickets to game 4. Still lots of seats available for both games in Chicago. Just check out TicketMaster. They went on sale at 10AM CST.

Thats awesome that you get to see them. I am suprised that they havent sold out quicker as the Bulls were the only team to sell more tickets than the Cavs this last season.

wow...I just looked. Great seats still there (cheap seats there too). If I can get the muster to make the drive, I just might go to game 4.

I love the 3pm slot as well. Do some work around the house, sit down on the couch and watch the game, then go out to dinner w the girl and she doesn't get mad the basketball game interferes with the evening!

Kind of off topic ... but an interesting thing happened in the Golden State game yesterday. The only had 6 healthy players, so they suited 2 injured ones just to meet the 8 limit set by rules. Then they had a player get injured, and another player foul out. Apparently, they had one of the injured guys hobble out on the floor for a few plays, but then reinserted the guy who fouled out ... this cost them a technical foul (and 2 free throws) ... but he was allowed to play.

I wonder what the rule for this is? If you foul out, can you come back in at ONLY the expense of a technical foul?

only matchup that scares me is the rose/mo matchup. but thing is, if mo's shot is off and rose is blowing past him, you can run delonte out there who can make rattle the guy's cage a little bit.

nobody can guard shaq on that team, nobody can check antawn either. if deng commits to tawn?, who commits to lebron?

taj gibson is a good young player, but i don't know if he can handle antawn jamison in a series.

there are mismatches all over the place in this series.

this might be some instances where you may see that lineup of shaq-jj-tawn-lbj-mo/delonte on the floor.

what does interest me is the la/okc series. i'm not bold enough to predict an upset, but i think if bynum is still hobbling around, the thunder will give them hell.

the LA v. OKC intrigues me for one reason. Can Kobe guard Durant?

because despite having Artest do that most of the time, you know they will matchup Kobe on him at times and I want to see it.

Fish is a big problem over there. He's done. Nash is a better defender anymore.

Just watched my Jazz get crushed last night. If that team had a legit big guy to defend inside they would be way, way better. Memo is awesome, but should come off the bench.

Was waiting for someone to mention this.. I think that DWest will get a lot of action on DRose in the fourth quarter of these games....

The Rose matchup concerns me as well as Noah on the offensive glass.. I know that Shaq is back which should help on the boards, but it's going to take a few games for him to get his legs back in terms of a game situation..

deron williams is worth watching a game. that guy is unreal, probably the most underrated player in the game.

it's gonna be fun to watch him and chauncey go at it. utah is tough at home, but denver proved last year they can win on the road. can't wait for that.

the eastern playoffs look about as horrible as it can look. can we just skip to cavs/magic?

Very interesting, so I went looking..........

RULE NO. 3-PLAYERS, SUBSTITUTES AND COACHES

Section 1 - Team
Each team shall consist of five players. No team may be reduced to less than five players. If a player in the game receives his sixth personal foul and all substitutes have already been disqualified, said player shall remain in the game and shall be charged with a personal and team foul. A technical foul also shall be assessed against his team. All subsequent personal fouls, including offensive fouls, shall be treated similarly. All players who have six or more personal fouls and remain in the game shall be treated similarly.

b. In the event that there are only five eligible players remaining and one of these players is injured and must leave the game or is ejected, he must be replaced by the last player who was disqualified by reason of receiving six personal fouls. Each subsequent requirement to replace an injured or ejected player will be treated in this inverse order. Any such re-entry into a game by a disqualified player shall be penalized by a technical foul.

c. In the event that a player becomes ill and must leave the court while the ball is in play, the official will stop play immediately when his team gains new possession. The player shall be replaced and no technical foul will be assessed. The opposing team is also permitted to substitute one player.
