Because page one clearly lays out all the things you would have to "buy into" to even consider this a possibility. So what it basicly means is all the dominos would have to fall just right.

If you're going to buy into the premise of this column you need to have a few beliefs.

You have to believe that all the moves the Eagles have made this offseason, culminating in the Easter Sunday trade of six-time Pro Bowl quarterback Donovan McNabb, have been in order to rebuild for the 2011 season and beyond.

With that in mind, you must also believe that 2010 will not be a ��ardon the pun ��anner season for the Eagles.

Next, you must also believe ��nd this shouldn't be too difficult to imagine ��hat the Cleveland Browns are not going to be contenders in the AFC North.

You can think that new team president Mike Holmgren is on his way to making things better in Cleveland; but that it is not going to happen this season and that the Browns are destined for another last-place finish.

If that happens, you have to think that Holmgren and new general manager Tom Heckert would want their own head coach in place by the 2011 season.

Now here comes the part where I really need your trust if we're going to go any further.

You have to believe that Eagles head coach Andy Reid did NOT want to trade McNabb and was more or less convinced to do so by the Eagles' new dynamic duo of Joe "Batman'' Banner and Howie "The Boy Wonder'' Roseman.

With that in mind, you also have to believe that Reid, a football man for almost all of his adult life, is not thrilled with the dynamic duo now in charge of all things Eagles.

All right, let's review our beliefs and speculate a bit on the 2010 season.

Mangini proves to be the problem

I agree how you noticed i led you to page two AS IF I were hiding or up to something. i think that says more about how you spin things than my improper copying of the article. i might add i enjoyed the Chucky article as well. My point is from the beginning our lack of patience may have lost us out on Mcnabb and put us over a barrel. I added this article to show other writers are connecting the same dots as regards Andy Reid as a scapegoat as well. Andy Reid being scapegoated is not a lot of Dominoes.
Here are my "dominoes" as you call them.
1) It has been determined that Quinn and mangini did not see eye to eye and Quinn had to go. Domino number one.
2) Holmgren moved quickly(rash by some standards and jumped to sign Jake "the Mistake" and not wait if the Eagles may lower their demands on mcNabb..Domino 2
3) With a washed QB and a Journeyman the QB situation looks like a last place finish is likely considering we have BY far the worst set of WRs and QBs in the division and that puts another 5-6 win season highly likely and WILL NOT keep Mangini his job..Domino #3
4) The Eagles will have the Worst QB in the division and may likely NOT make the playoffs and the fans will demand the head of Reid( who probably did not want to trade MvNabb..Domino #4

Push the dominoes and Mangini is Gone, Reid is Gone, The Browns have a REAL head coach. that is pretty easy to follow...where did I lose you?

I saw on ESPN while I was at lunch that McNabb is trying to get the Redskins to make a run at TO... seriously? 1. I thought they hated each other and 2. This must be a serious indictment of the Redskins current receivers if he wants that cancer on his team..

First off, as many other people can see, Roseman has already been set up as the scapegoat.Simply looking at his resume verses his title pretty much tells all without any dominos.



Secondly, Reid has a coaching job and Chucky doesn't. Your scenario "depends" on someone getting fired that as of yet, no evidence has come forward to suggest he will.That means your idea is based on pure conjecture alone. Nothing more.

You're counting on us to suck, the Eagles to suck, two certain guys getting fired and one of those fired ending up here.

Logical conclusion?

Ahhh.....no.

JD has had a pretty good career besides last year. Holmgren has repeatedly stated that he didn't believe that year's failure was caused by a decline of ability. The idea that Holmgren needed to do nothing while he waited for McNabb to become available for less is ludicrous insomuch as there is no guarantee Cleveland would have a starting QB by now. At best we can assume that a bidding war would have taken place. Who knows how that would have ended up.

All 3 of your dominoes are really one domino, namely that Cleveland can't win with JD or SW any more than they could with BQ or DA. Domino's pizza sucks almost as much as this take. Your problem with Mangini and by continuation Holmgren lies ENTIRELY within the premise that Brady Quinn is a good QB. Pardon the rest of us if we aren't on that wagon anymore. I and most others consider the QB position improved. WRs have nothing to do with your domino theory BTW. Way to throw the bull ____ and see if it sticks.

This is great. After years and years of Philly fans hating McNabb like he was cancer, AIDS, and the Democrats combined, you come out with this. Yea, the fans are in charge in Philly. Or, maybe, they got what they could for him before Kolb got pissed and demanded a trade. You are aware that they like him right?

I can't believe you think McNabb is SO GOOD that a perennial playoff team is suddenly so crappy they have to fire their coach. Philly is much like Pitt in that they have a good organization and an awesome DC. Those things are more important than Donovan McNabb.

Reid is great, if he was out there last year, yea, get him over Mangini, sure. Nobody'd be complaining about that except Tyler who hates fat people.

You are building your story backwards and trying to make the pieces fit. They don't.
