As someone who works in the web industry, it always amazes me that a cash cow like the NFL can't (or is unwilling) to invest money in high quality web design. It's either that scenario ($$$) or someone is selling them a used car and telling them it's new.

It seems to be that way for all professional sports. They lock themselves in to using some weird, generic, proprietary software that spits out a website that looks cheap and somewhat amateurish. It certainly functions as it should but there's no reason for any team (and certainly not one as historically important as the Browns) to have a so-so or even average looking website.

It looks just about the same to me.

I found everything OK via the dropdown menus. Fairly easy navigation.

It just doesn't look very different to me. Certainly not different enough to trumpet a new and exciting look.

It's not THAT bad, pretty easy navigation.

at least now you don't have to enter your email and password to enter the BrownsChat...

I spent my effort a couple of years ago, and have not looked back.

Not saying it's bad, just saying it's pretty underwhelming. For a league that makes billions of dollars each year, they should have the best sports websites in the world. Should be a mix of cutting edge technology, great design and excellent usability. I wouldn't say they accomplish any of those 3 things.

The usability is decent but why, in 2010, would you ever put a video in a light box (on click) when you're already using a flash player to display the main content area. Makes no sense.

I like it.

Kinda like it actually.. like the transaction section. gives a clear view of how things transpired so far this season.. (located under the TEAM tab)

The look and feel of it seems fine. Basically, I don't have any problems with it at all.

I can see where a professional web developer might think that there is so much more that could have been done..

I don't see it that way. I prefer simple and easy to navigate websites... but that's just me I suppose. Just get me to the info I want... as quickly and with as little bull as possible..

I think it looks pretty good. The JC video looks cleaner, and the window for vids is bigger than on the old site, is it not?

Yup,, it is bigger.. much bigger and it has the option to go full screen.. I'd call that an improvement..

I liked the Holmgren greeting and hearing him say "Go Browns".

Also fixed the volume issue. On the old site I found it very difficult to hear the audio.

True enough.,, don't see where there is any reason to think they haven't improved the site.. Like I said, it doesn't have all the flashy stuff that probably could be added, but to me, that stuff can sometimes slow a site down... I"d rather it be fast and clean... like I said, that might just be me however...

No kidding about the board there. I haven't been able to log in for about 6-8 weeks (can't remember). I emailed the Fan Squad with no response...YIPPEE!

I couldn't log in there for about a year, so I emailed them, and also got no response. Tried to upgrade my registration but it wouldn't let me. Again no response when I tried to contact someone. Finally I registered under my new email, the one they never reply to and will not show up in my profile, and presto... they banned me for having two identities. I won't waste my time with them anymore, as this was a clear sign to me that they could care less about the users.
I go there for the videos, but nothing else. I always loved the forums there since there are still many posters from the old board there that aren't here, but I'm stubborn and will not waste time trying to get back on the boards.

I kinda like the new site.

As far as the forum, I haven't tried to log in there for I bet years now - so I figured I give it shot....logged in with no problem. I found it humorous that after I logged in I went to the Tailgate Lot and the 1st thread listed is "How come the Browns don't have cheerleaders?" LOL

Some things never change.
