Does anyone agree that the Dolphins are now the team to beat in the AFC East???

No.

Were the Jets really as good as their record last year? They got in on Indy and NO benching their starters and their offense relied solely on Thomas Jones who is gone. Sure they added weapons to the passing game but Mark Sanchez threw 20 interceptions last season, and for all we know might now pan out. I just don't understand the praise for NYJ when the Dolphins will have Ronnie Brown healthy for a whole season, a young strong armed pocket passing QB, an elite receiver, solid Oline with Jake Long anchoring it. Not to mention they spent some high picks shoring up that secondary.

IMHO this team is the team to beat in the East, not the washed up Pats or the insanely overrated NYJ because of the market they're in.

too much uncertainty to really dub a favorite there.

NYJ - Sanchez sure looked good in the playoffs. He struggled throughtout the year but with that OL and running game (Shonn Greene is better than Thomas Jones at this point in their careers), he should at least be okay. Their defense is what they live by, so teams will have to find a way to expose them.

NE - lots of age and general concerns. but, it's usually when we leave them for dead that they come up to bite us. Tom Brady should be completely over his knee injury and they still have talent at key positions and great position in the draft if they pick well.

Miami - Ronnie Brown healthy for a full year? I think even Miami assumes he will miss a few games like he always does. That said, Henne looks solid, they have a legitimate WR now (if he doesn't do something stupid), and Parcells always puts enough talent on the field for their defense. Their secondary was atrocious though and they need a smart veteran leader to put all the youngsters in the correct spots if that is their plan (the Darren Sharper role if you will).

any of those 3 could win the East. it's just about which team the breaks fall the right way this year. i think it's safe to say the Bills will not though.

The AFC East depends on one player: Mark Sanchez.

If he is better than he was last year, the Jets will run away with the AFC East. If he is the same as last year, it will be a dog fight for the top spot between the Pats, Phins and Jets.

you had a good run Hank.

No.

Until someone proves they can consistantly beat New England, they are the team to beat, period.

Good way to look at it. I think the Jets season was a fluke. They weren't as good as they were....and only got to the postseason because two teams rested their starters.

With that being said, they did play well in the playoffs. Mark looked pretty decent. I think he and the team were just riding the wave of good vibes. With a new season, everyone hungry, and the Jets having a target on their backs....I think they end with 7-8 wins.

I'm just waiting for the Jets locker room to explode.

Cromartie, our ol' buddy BE, Holmes and Ryan?

Now THAT'S drama!

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.
