and lolz @ quentin richardson. that's awesome. i drive past q's house everyday on my way home from work. i worked with his sister a few years ago too.
paul pierce is an actor. i know jim brown did somewhat similar of a thing (different era, way different circumstances) but paul pierce is an actress. game 1 of the nba finals is proof of that. he was taken off the court like he was shot by a sniper, and miraculously returned.
kg is the biggest d-bag in the league, no question. q did nothing wrong. i watched the replay a bunch of times.

"Top-seeded Cavs not about to take Bulls lightly"
not yesterday....should have beat them by 25+ but kept playing street ball and couldn't hit an open shot (Parker!!!)
I'm not one to complain, but they need to play 48 minutes of PLAYOFF basketball to get ready for the teams that are going to test them like Boston, Orlando, and Atlanta. If the Cavs play like this vs any of those teams, they'll lose the series

I can understand why people consider Noah a punk, he runs his mouth, he is a goofy looking guy the likes of that everybody loves to hate but the way he has improved himself this year and the effort he gives makes me love the way the guy plays. All of you people who bash him for saying that he isnt afraid of the cavs.... and calling lebron out, and saying what was on his mind leading up to the series need to get a grip. Do you ever listen to the questions that the media asks "so Joakim, do you even think that the bulls can win one game this series?" what do you expect the kid to say. For a fanbase that has embraced Andy so much you would think that a guy like Noah would get props for being straight up and a team player that tries to outwork everybody on the floor. Sometimes I wonder if Cleveland has the most passionate fans and some of the most hypocritical. That being said, I hope Shaq bust his ugly mug all series.

I have no problem with him playing hard, though there is a fine line between playing hard and playing dirty.
I have a problem with him acting like a punk all the time, I have a problem with his big ass mouth and him being a classless chump.

Here's Q's point of view:
"I was trying to get over there to take the ball out of bounds and he started to talk to me so I talked back. I don't have any business talking to him (Pierce), he was on the ground crying I dont know what was going on, two actresses over there that's what they are."

the guy is a punk.
and when's the last time you heard andy varejao say something regrettable to the media? when's the last time you heard andy varejao say anything to the media?
the guy just plays. people are annoyed at him because they assume he was a flopper like he was 3 years ago. he outworks you.
noah talks, and talks some more, he threw a cheap shot yesterday.
the media took his words out of context about shocking the world. he didn't say they were going to, he said they were going to try to. i have no problem with that. he didn't guarantee victory or anything. but on the flip side, him and some of his teammates were saying they wanted to win the 8th seed and play the cavs, so like lebron said, he wanted us, and now he's got us.
and shaq absolutely abused him yesterday. power, finesse, the whole 9 yards.

I understand that he's a gator and a pretty good one. Heck I would have liked Mike Conley or Greg Oden to be a Cav. It's just Noah wouldn't have played for us Peen. He's a poor man's version of Andy. A high hustle and motor player who gets rebounds.

I love to hate Noah which to me means I'd like him on my team....
I'm not sure that Varajao is better as I think Noah's offense is better but I'd take Varajao on THIS team every day of the week.

I didn't think it was possible but Noah has an uglier looking shot than Andy. Andy has really progressed with his offense. Not to mention he's a lot better defender. The only thing Noah is better at is shot blocking.

things are so much different now that we have scoring options all over the place. lebron and mo were pretty much the only true threats last year. now you have those 2, jamison, shaq who can go and at least demand a double, that a guy like andy doesn't have to hoist up stupid shots.
remember all the bad moments in the past when guys like andy, and ben wallace, and sasha pavlovic and eric snow would be holding the ball with 2 seconds on the shot clock left with nobody even remotely close to guarding them? that rarely happens this year, and with andy, he lives around the basket so you can't just ignore him. he rarely stopss and camps out somewhere, he is the most active guy on the team. always moving. he's like a damn shark out there.

they just don't have the size. they are a really good team but the only guy who's 7 feet is mullens and he's not exactly a force down low..
i think they need a low post presence and a veteran guy or two and they could be right in the thick of the true western conference contenders. durant is ridiculous though.
as far as the 07 cavs, they had a somewhat easy run to the finals, a banged up washington team, an underachieving nets team (vince carter, jason kidd, rich hamilton) and a detroit team that was waiting for someone to take the reigns of the eastern conference.
if you matched these cavs up against those 2007 spurs, we'd kick there rear ends all over the gym. the nba is so much better this year than it has been in the last decade.
but that 2007 team played really tough defense, for all the banging we did on larry hughes, and rightfully so, he played pretty good physical defense that i think we don't quite have this year in the backcourt. it's not bad by any means but it was a tad bit better (i'll take that trade all day though, lose a bit of backcourt D but be WAY better on offense as a whole)
and they got that monster game from lebron, that's pretty much how they got there. and i think that experience for the handful of guys from that team who are still around, will help big time if we get back there.

i think the thunder will still make this somewhat of a series, they are gonna be so tough at home, the crowd should realy get into it, it's their first taste ever. i think it can possibly go 6. i can definitely see this going to okc in game 6 where they have a chance to force 7 but come up a tad bit short.

I don't know there contract situations but they could go after Bosh this summer. They could also try to land Boozer

I know we'd beat them but that 07 spurs team had Timmy D still in his prime along with Manu and Tony healthy.

Joakim Noah spends a cranky off day: Cleveland? 'It's bad, man'; Celtics' Kevin Garnett? 'He's a dirty player' By Brian Windhorst, The Plain Dealer April 18, 2010, 5:45PM noahsquarejk.jpgJohn Kuntz / The Plain DealerJoakim Noah wasn't in a particularly happy mood on Sunday, ripping Cleveland for its lack of leisure options on a Sunday and calling the Celtics' Kevin Garnett "a dirty player" after Saturday night's Boston-Miami skirmish. CAVALIERS VS. BULLS, GAME 2 Tipoff: Monday, 8 p.m., The Q. TV/radio: FSOhio, TNT; WTAM AM/1100. Notable: LeBron James has scored at least 20 points in 21 consecutive playoff games dating to 2008. ... James has scored 1,785 points since the 2006 playoffs, the most of any player in that span. ... Shaquille O’Neal will play in his 205th career playoff game Monday. ... Over his last seven games, Mo Williams is averaging 21.5 points on 54 percent shooting. — Brian WindhorstCLEVELAND, Ohio -- Joakim Noah was so close. He was just about to find some middle ground with Cavaliers fans, maybe even enough to temper the personalized boos a tad during Monday's Game 2 when his Chicago Bulls attempt to even the playoff series. He openly ripped a common opponent, the Boston Celtics' Kevin Garnett, Sunday by repeatedly calling him a "dirty player" in the wake of Garnett's ejection from the Celtics-Miami Heat playoff game Saturday night. Garnett has a history with the Cavs and their fans, too. But then Noah had to divert his aim to his weekend host, the City of Cleveland, and ensure he remained the designated nemesis for fans in the series. "I don't know about Cleveland, man, there is nothing going on," Noah said Sunday, lamenting the options for his off day on a typical cloudy and chilly spring day. "It's bad, man." When asked if his dislike for the town would motivate him more in the series, Noah continued. "What, that Cleveland really sucks?" Noah said. Noah certainly didn't enjoy Game 1 when the Cavs' three centers -- Shaquille O'Neal, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Anderson Varejao -- took turns battling him with different styles. Noah was in foul trouble and settled for 10 points and eight rebounds in the 96-83 loss. But that nor his distaste for Northeast Ohio wasn't even the centerpiece of Noah's venom on Sunday. That was aimed squarely at Garnett. Noah was inflamed after Garnett threw two elbows at the Miami Heat's Quentin Richardson, an action that could get him suspended by the NBA. The winner of the Cavs-Bulls series will face the winner of the Heat-Celtics series, but Noah's reaction seemed more personal than business. "I'm going to say it: He's a dirty player," Noah said. "He's always swinging elbows, man. I'm hurting right now because of an elbow he threw [when the Bulls played the Celtics last week]. It's unbelievable. He's a dirty player. It's one thing to be competitive and compete. But don't be a dirty player man. He's a dirty player." Noah went so far as to suggesting the Heat use reserve center, and noted enforcer, Jamaal Magloire to merit justice. "That's messed up," Noah said. "I'm really excited about that [Heat-Celtics] series. It's going to be fun. I hope they put Magloire in. He knows what he's doing." The Cavs have had numerous run-ins with Garnett and teammate Paul Pierce over the years. In the most recent meeting two weeks ago, LeBron James and Garnett got into a heated exchange in the final seconds of the game after Garnett appeared to grab his crotch while yelling at James. James, however, took the high road on Sunday. "I've never called him a dirty player," James said. "I can only speak for myself." Despite Garnett's actions, Noah's unprompted statements about another series came off as bizarre. Noah does have a history of speaking his mind, he's rapped James this season about dancing on the bench during games. It certainly seemed to catch the Celtics off guard, too. "Noah? Noah's in this series now?" Celtics coach Doc Rivers told reporters in Boston. "I have no comment. If Noah had said that last year [when the Bulls played Celtics in the playoffs], I would have had a comment. But since he's in Cleveland and dealing with that, I think I'll let him focus on [O'Neal] and that group right now." As for that task at hand, Noah is promising he'll be aggressive in Game 2 after the bigger Cavs dominated the Bulls in the series opener. "We were a little bit timid. ... It was a great learning experience," Noah said. "They're very good. There's no denying that. But at the same time, we still feel we can compete with them and win one on Monday." web page

I love Jamison right now. He's so good at shots around the rim.
I have been saying for weeks now that AJ is best in pick and roll situations where he is moving to rim and doing one of those weird flip shots.. He is also good as a weak side cutter.. Guy is so crafty around the rim and much more effective doing that stuff than taking long jumpers..
I know he can shoot the rock, but I still like our chances better when he is moving toward the bucket..
On a side note, AP was nervous on Saturday.. Guy needs to relax as he is going to continue to get great looks.. AP is a smart player and is always in the right spot on offense (spacing), he just needs to knock down the shots..
I heart winning

Look, lets be honest about one thing here. I've lived my entire life in N.E Ohio, and right now, the city of Cleveland isn't a paradise. The city's resources (lake front, river, people) has been under utilized for pretty much my entire life. About the only time it was a fun place to go for me was in the early-mid 90s when Gateway became a reality and "The Flats" was fun and relatively safe. There isn't much to do.
With that said, Noah can kiss my butt. He's lucky he has Chicago night life, because in a few short days, that's the only thing he'll be enjoying. No reason to slam the city or its people. This jackass is more worried about the city and Kevin Garnett than his May fishing expedition bound team. The fans of the Bulls should be PO'd that this guy is more worried about things unrelated to furthering his team's success.

i think he's trying to take the focus off of his lousy performance, and the fact that his team is pretty horrible.
this is not going to be a series at all. and the cavs just need to get it over with asap. no need for extra curricular, and any suspension type garbage that could hurt us for the next round. approach it like you did saturday. all business.

Speaking of KG and getting suspended.......does anyone know the status of playoff teams and personal fouls? Didn't Howard have a certain amount and was 2 away from gettinng suspened? Or am I crazy? I'm thinking there are a couple players out there and outburst or two from a suspension. (with Howard being one of them).
Looking forward to the game tonight!! Go Cavs!!

It's techincal fouls. So many and you get suspended.
And it was Kobe you're thinking of, not Dwight Howard.

I think it's 6 or 7 Techs will get you a suspension. I remember Rasheed Wallace getting his 6th or 7th against us in Game 6 of the ECF when he went into full meltdown ... so if they had managed to win that game, he was gone for Game 7.

i think its 28 technical fouls during the reg season, then a 1 game suspension for every t after that. Then in the playoffs it resets, after that you can have 7 (i think) then you are suspended.

yes.
i'd love to see howard pick up 2 or 3, maybe even 4 before a possible rematch, then he's gotta bite his tongue for 7 games.

FANHOUSE COVERAGE OF THE NBA PLAYOFFS Dwight Howard Picks Up 15th Technical Foul, One More Is a Suspension1 Comment Say Something »
3/19/2010 2:01 PM ET By Brett Pollakoff
PrintAText SizeE-mail More Brett Pollakoff NBA Blogger
When you think of players in the league who might be among the leaders in technical fouls on the season, the name Dwight Howard doesn't immediately come to mind. After all, the guy is among the most fan-friendly superstars we have in the game today, and he just doesn't seem like the type to let the officials have it to the point where he's racked up more Ts than a guy like Rasheed Wallace.
But it's true: Howard picked up his 17th technical foul of the season during his team's overtime win in Miami on Thursday. Two have been rescinded by the league, which leaves him with an official tally of 15. If and when he gets number 16, he'll have earned himself an automatic one-game suspension.
Share
"They want to call technicals on him, period," Stan Van Gundy said.
"I've been trying to be extra careful, but it's hard sometimes," Howard said. "It gets frustrating. On one end, you feel like you don't get any and sometimes you get calls that go against you."
This is likely the crux of the problem for Howard.
The Magic have won each of their last two games, but Howard has had little to do with it, because he was stuck on the bench with early foul trouble in each contest. While Howard gets called for blocking fouls in the lane that could go either way, or gets called for "body" fouls when players come into the paint driving right into him, it's obviously frustrating.
Especially when on the offensive end, Howard gets hit over and over again, while, more often than not, the officials choose to let the contact against him go without a whistle.
There's no easy answer on how to handle this if you're Dwight Howard. I suppose he could flop and flail a little more on the offensive end to accentuate the times when he gets fouled so the officials, over the course of the game, might be guilted into making a few more calls in his favor.
But honestly, things aren't likely to change much. And given the fact that the technical foul count resets to zero for the postseason, there's not a ton to worry about here in terms of Howard being suspended for a playoff game. Howard would have to pick up a whopping seven technicals once the playoffs start to force a suspension, and let's face it: the league would likely rescind any that weren't completely egregious to prevent that from happening.

Kobe last year was 1 or 2 away from a suspension, then one of his technicals was taken away by the league. (Imagine that)

i think its 28 technical fouls during the reg season, then a 1 game suspension for every t after that. Then in the playoffs it resets, after that you can have 7 (i think) then you are suspended.
yes.
i'd love to see howard pick up 2 or 3, maybe even 4 before a possible rematch, then he's gotta bite his tongue for 7 games.
I could see it happening if they get in some close games. Howard's basketball IQ is low. I hope he thanks his lucky stars every night for his freakish size and athletic ability.
