and you consistently refuse to see that there is reasons behind thinking that way. This isn't the ECF and we have a game like this and you say...you know, it happens. This is against a team that was 41-41, the worst offense and 3pt shooting in the NBA, and without a person outside of rose that would start for us. We don't look prepared. I blame alot of this on browns inability to handle the rest at the end of the season.. These 3 games is why you don't rest 2 weeks going into playoffs..especially when we weren't really playing that great before that. And the other issue is Mo Williams, if this dude can't be consistent at least on offense and as the PG, then he needs replace, because he brings Nothing defensively. He's a role player at best, the problem is, he can't break down the D with the dribble, he gets in and then dribbles right back out, he don't have the strength or ability to finish at the rim, and delonte has all of that but doesn't have Mo's ball skills, if we could just mush them two together we'd have Derrick Rose. I really thought this was the year, and who knows maybe this does wake them up, but what i've seen from the cavs, and from what i've seen against future supposedly inferior opponents, it ain't happening this year. Cavs should have curb stomped the bulls 4 straight games.

Many times through the years of me posting and or just watching here I've thought of writing names down to remember who said what. Just keep a paper off to the side or in the desk here instead of searching around through old threads - make life easier, you know?

This may finally be the thread that makes me start.

Some of the stuff written on here tonight.... wow.

GO CAVS - Bring it from the tip Sunday.

no joke. I don't post much but from my armchair quarterbacking Derrick Rose hit shots he had no business making and same with Hinrich. I'm upset that brown put in AV at the end because he doesn't need to go to the stripe, make someone else go there. This is why the playoffs go in series folks, sometimes a team just gets real hot in a game. I don't see Chicago being able to duplicate it, sorry.

The Free throw crap is the only thing that annoys me about this game. We'll have no room for that kind of error against Orlando. LBJ is 7 of 13? Unacceptable.

I hopes he's pissed about it until tipoff on Sunday.

you can live with rose getting his, but you gotta get a guy on hinrich if he's shooting like that (smart money says he won't play that well again next game) plain and simple. cavs gotta pick up their d. offense is fine. well kinda. they gotta stop settling. but 100+ should net you a win in the playoffs.

i didn't like how we came out. very early in the game the bulls looked shaky and the cavs had a chance to jump on them, instead they just kinda sat back. i really think lebron comes out early and is agressive.

also, that charging call with a minute and change left was HORRIBLE. not blaming it on the outcome, because the cavs did themselves in, but deng was not square to lebron nor were his feet even remotely close to being set.

and wow did mo probably make the biggest mistake of the game. chance to tie, nobody is open with the exception of andy and of course they foul him. we had a timeout in our pocket and i thought we probably should have burned it there.

i do agree that maybe jj should see some time and the cavs should go small. i understand getting shaq involved, but the cavs should counter what chicago is bringing.

and speaking of which. cut the bulls some credit. they are playing well. hinrich had a career playoff game. rose is just unreal. i've read many nba experts say the bulls could have easily been a 5 seed had derek rose not been out for 2 different stretches this year.

can't wait for sunday.

i have faith in my team.

I thought the charge call against Lebron was a huge blow to an otherwise valiant comeback effort. The Bulls played out of their minds tonight (78 points between Rose, Hinrich and Deng) and snuck out with a 2 point victory. They're a talented young team whose regular season record belies how good they really can be, and tonight they simply played better. The only thing that concerns me at this point is our defense, and I believe that the team is able to recognize this, focus and improve on it.

for those who need

I think we need to increase JJ's minutes, and slightly decrease shaq/antwan minutes.

Crazy to think that after tonight we can be assured that the Cavs AND the Lakers aren't going to win their first series!

Well, the Lakers lost by 5......so that must mean they're going to lose the next three in a row by double digits.

Loses suck but this is a good wake-up call. And it's not a series until the home team loses.

I haven't watched the game as I'm working but I have it recorded. From what I'm reading here though apparently we're the worst #1 seeded team ever assembled and we should just tear it down and sign LeBron to play wide receiver for the Browns.

I watched the first 2 games and we played like we were coming off injuries and giving guys some rest. Completely expected if you ask me. I haven't yet seen game 3 so I don't know why we lost but I do know we won't lose this series as we're just so much more talented than they are. We'd probably beat them in a close 7 game series if we didn't have LeBron for any of the games. The fact that people are actually coming in here saying we won't win the series is absurd and they should go read the story of Chicken Little a time or two before they post about the Cavs again.

Mike Brown is really good at making adjustments game to game but he is awful at making them during the game. Case in point, he had Weak Sauce (my nickname for Anthony Parker) on Derrick Rose most of game 1 and Rose was lighting him up. I was screaming at the recording on TV to replace him with Delonte West because Delonte is the one guy we have who can limit Rose from playing his game. The kid is too good for anyone to stop but Delonte can contain him. In this series Delonte should be in the game whenever Rose is and rest when Rose rests, give Weak Sauce the minutes that Rose is on the bench and let him play against the bulls slower reserve players.

Weak Sauce has a role on this team and its to play perimeter defense and hit open 3's. When he's doing that he's serviceable - but in game 1 he was missing 3's when he had nobody anywhere near him to contest the shot. He just isn't quick enough to defend Rose either, which really isn't his fault but we shouldn't be making him try. I'll give Mike Brown a little tiny bit of credit, this adjustment was made at halftime. He either saw it or an assistant coach did and Brown listened to him. When Delonte was on Rose in the second half Rose still got his but he really had to hoist up a lot of bad shots that shouldn't have went in and the majority of them didn't. Should have been the way we set the rotations from the tipoff, and I think that was obvious to almost everyone before we ever got to the arena for game one...except Mike Brown. Game 2 you could justify playing Parker a little bit easier because he hit 2 of his first 4 threes but I still don't want to see him try to guard Derrick Rose ever again.

I'm also glad Mike Brown stuck with Moon in game 2 when he was playing well instead of sticking to his pregame rotations at all costs like he usually does. He was on fire from 3 and playing some decent defense. He was also getting a lot of his minutes at the 2 spot and I like that against the Bulls. He's quick enough to defend their smaller guards in a pinch and he has much more length than they do, he had a nice block or two if I recall correctly.

I just wish he would get JJ into the game some, the guy has improved so much and has learned a lot this season. He shouldn't be starting but he should get some time on the floor, especially with the athleticism he has. No way can Brad Miller guard him, that's when he should get some minutes - take advantage of that matchup.

Almost everyone also said they expect Chicago to take a game at home but when they do the world crumbles around us? Relax...

Yea I think our team is deep enough to be able to adjust to anyone, its just getting those rotations in. JJ is a great card to play against a team like the Bulls, he can bang and be energetic against Brad Miller and Noah, but we have to give Shaq and AJ their full minutes. I'd be okay if we cut the pair down a bit and let JJ play more than garbage seconds for this series. Same with West, he can cover Rose and let LeBron roam and improve our D.

umm, the Celtics were taken to 7 games in the 1st round the year they won the championship as one example.

i cannot believe the negativity here. chicago is a hustle, jump-shooting team and when we don't put up the same hustle, they can steal one, which most of us expected them to do.

secondly, game3 is the game teams usually lose. first 2 are at home and you are really focused to keep homecourt. game4 is either for the sweep (and want to finish a team off) or to rebound from a loss (which we will do). game3 is just sort of out there and tends to have the higher seed a little less focused at the beginning which we certainly were.

we will be fine, we will win this series. can't believe i even have to write that.

and if Mike Brown is such a horrible playoff coach, why was last year the first time we were ever upset in the playoffs?

Hah... I get what you're doing but this may have some truth to it. Looking at the rosters Phil's got to run, he hasn't had to coach an NBA game yet in his career...

I see the "woe is us" crowd is out in full force already. Some things never change. Can we at least wait for the series to play itself out before shedding tears of disappointment?

and the thing is, if the cavs come out and win sunday, most of them won't show up in this topic. they only come out when the cavs lose a game, and they pour it on mike brown.

mike brown is not the best coach in the league, but to say he's horrible? cmon.

how about putting it on these players? man up. sack up. it's the playoffs. welcome to the rollercoaster.

some people just can't handle playoff basketball. they treat every game like it's an nfl playoff game.

it's just funny. so predictable. the cavs lose and they come out and rip mike brown. laughable. it is.

and i honestly think some do it just to have a fail-safe in case the cavs don't win it all. so they can stand up and say "SEE I TOLD YOU SO!"

if you're going to have that attitude, why watch sports?

You're the token Cavs homer on the board, LeBron lol.

Mike Brown is terrible. He's one of the bottom 10 coaches in the league.

However, I don't show up here like Assassian just to say "Told ya so!".

I'll be here Sunday night win or lose, but if we win, it won't be thanks to Mike Brown

The "woe is us" crowd has every right to be out today because that was an absolutely pathetic showing last night. The Cavs sleep-walked through more than half of that game and didn't even start playing Cavalier ball until it was far too late.

Hopefully, it is a case of a bad thing being good for us in that it wakes their butts up... but if anyone thought that Monday night was the best the Bulls could throw at us, they were dead wrong. This Bulls team is throwing it all at us, and now that they've beaten us they know that they CAN take it to us.

They played like crap. Pointing out the fact that they played like absolute crap is NOT being a "doom-n-gloomer".... it is stating a truth - that they played like crap and that if they keep it up, it's going to be an early offseason. I add that last bit because this isn't even close to being the first occassion where they've come out looking uninterested like this.... it's been a recurring event all season. They may believe that they can coast and then turn it on at any time and still win it; but that is quite clearly not the case.

token cavs homer? why because i don't think mike brown is a terrible coach?

no. i've watched 90% of cavs games since mike brown took over, the guy can in fact coach.

bottom 10 coach? what? have you watched the nba over the last 5 years?

i have never said mike brown was the best coach, or a top 5 coach or anything like that, but you don't grab back to back 60 win seasons with a bottom level coach, sorry you just don't. go look up all the teams that have done that. the small handful that have been able to do that.

you look at what he did in series where he did not have nearly the amount of talent. both detroit series', the boston series' and you can argue there were mismatches all over the place in the orlando series.

the guy has dealt with major change EVERY single year.

i put this more on lebron than anyone else. he's the leader of this team and they're playing awful defense. i do blame mike brown for forcing shaq. maybe that pays off later in the playoffs.

but no, i'm sorry, token cavs homer? hardly. i just don't panic when we lose a game. i'm not afraid of my team losing.

token cavs homer, really?

Unreal, we lose a close game were the team was on cruise control and its Mike Brown's fault. I forgot how a crappy coach gets a team to 50+ wins, ECF, and the championship series. Come on, get real guys. Mike Brown is the BEST coach this team has ever had, and is definietly a top 5 coach in the league right now.

i don't know about top 5, but i just can't agree with him being bottom 10...

he's not phil jackson, greg pop, larry brown, jerry sloan, or george karl.

i can't put him in that class. age and experience have a lot to do with that.

he's probably top 10-15.

this is on the players. this is on lebron. he was agressive in game 1, and then he reverted back to the bad lebron, which is him hoisting hero shots and making them 1 out of 4.

Your agrument for Mike Brown being a good coach is we lost a close game because "the team was on cruise control"?

This is the playoffs! We can't be on cruise control anymore.

Who's fault is it that we weren't ready to play?

Mike Brown!

My intention was not to come in here and bash Mike Brown. But to give him a pass because "we were in cruise control" is ridiculous.

mike brown deserves his share of the blame. he's stubborn. that can be a double-edged sword.

and yeah, i do like mike brown, but i will say this. if this team doesn't make the finals, i think there is a good chance he gets fired. maybe dan gilbert throws money at a guy like coach k, or another big time name.

but i have faith in the guy. i've seen enough cavs basketball to know that he's very good, but still learning. he's proven his worth before.

Would hate to see K change his tune,....but he would do coaching wonders with the Cavs.

As for last night's game, the Cavs were lucky to even be in a position to steal that one, down by 20. To their credit, they didn't give up. That bodes well for the rest of the playoffs.

Chicago is a lot better than we think,....at least, they are playing better than I believe they are, and that was my original concern at the outset. If the Bulls can take this next one--Cleveland is in trouble.

Trouble? Nah. Chicago's chances of winning in Cleveland are a LOT less than Cleveland winning in Chicago....which they almost did....even after playing bad...even after Chicago shooting lights out....

It doesn't bother me at all for the Cavs to lose this game last night. It's good for them. Keeps them hungry and focused. Let's them know they are vunerable. And also....it eliminates the long layoff between series like they had last year.

You'll see a different team Sunday. Chicago can't play any better. The Cavs played miserable and only lost by 2 with a shot in the air to win it.

Trouble? No. A tad disappointing? Maybe.

I'm not too bothered by the loss last night. I actually think sweeping the first two rounds last year hurt the team going into the grind-it-out series with Orlando.

Now if it's Game 7 and we need a full court three and one to just take it to overtime, I'll have a problem.

These were my thoughts exactly. I understand the benefits of rest, but I hate the thought of coming off a week break only to play a team that's rolling, coming out of a 7 game series and playing with playoff intensity that the Cavs aren't ready for. A loss here or there keeps their focus where it needs to be and their intensity high.

We do that all the time ... we usually just lose the intensity by the 3rd quarter and are watching other teams wipe out double digit leads by the fourth.

Unlike a dollar bill ... you can't seem to get 4 quarters out of this team.

i think the biggest question is, is it ok to force shaq out there, in order to have him ready for the later rounds?

do you take your lumps now, maybe drop a game or two and make things somewhat interesting?

mike brown has to be at least tempted to roll out that non-shaq lineup that he was forced to use for 2 months, right?

Winning regular games doesnt mean a whole lot and I typically dont post on the Cavs but what i saw last night was an embarrassment.

I am not rooting against the Cavs at all, I have just watched the same thing from Mike Brown for long tiem now, the supposed defensive genius who struggles to pull the trigger with in game decisions like he is still a rookie head coach.

They let a team that believes in themselves back in a series which for all intents and purposes should have been over last night.

Did that team look motivated to you? Does it take a 5 year NBA head coach to figure out that LBJ should be on Rose and that everything the Bulls are doing would be stifled?

Sorry but it wasnt even that they lost, it was the way they lost.

LeBron can't guard Rose for 4 quarters. That would be playing right into Chicago's hands.

He'll pick up fouls, won't be able to help defend, and Rose is better at stopping him from getting out in transition.

he can guard him for spurts to stop the Bulls from going on any runs, but he should absolutely NOT be guarding him the whole game.

What I find interesting is that all the MB bashing only comes after the losses.. To me, if you are an MB hater, the bashing can be done all the time.. To me, he makes a lot of the same mistakes in our victories as well..I mean, think about how many games LB has bailed us out to win games?

I am not the biggest MB hater, but I also don't think he is the greatest.. Quite honestly, I think he is a mid-tier coach that is in a good situation.. I do like the fact that he has instilled an identity with this team over his tenure..

In terms of last night, it's hard for me to blame MB.. The NBA is different than the NFL.. Head coaches aren't really "motivators" as much as they are "project managers".. It's really the players jobs to be "ready to play" in terms of hustle and intensity.. I could understand if we had a young inexperienced team, but that isn't the case.. These guys shouldn't need a "ra ra" speech from MB in the locker room before the game in order to have urgency in a playoff game.. This team seems to think they can just flip the switch and turn it on..

Let's see how they handle this adversity before making rash judgements here..

I heart winning
