I think the Cavs would be smart to go after Joe.
but Atlanta would have to agree to trade with us to do that and they already have your boy Horford and Josh Smith at our only assets position (JJ Hickson).

I love Johnson's game..Not sure how well Joe would "fit" with us... Joe is at his best in pure isolation plays.. Not sure how well that would work playing alongside LB.. To me, a Stephen Jackson type guy fits better since he is more comfortable in catch and shoot situations as well..
I heart winning

Kind of off topic but me a few buddies were talking about this. What would LeBron be like at his absolute best? It's scary to think about. I think if we play Orlando we will see it and may God have mercy on them because no human will be able to stop him. GO CAVS!!!!

mid range game. better defense. a more determined low post-game.
i think more than anything, the confidence in his teammates to not always try and do what he did the other night.
remember, that was a huge turn in the career of jordan, when he gave up the ball to paxson to let him take a big shot, things changed. jordan became even more unstoppable.

If you want to dig deeper, an important chess piece in this summer's "Will LeBron stay or go?" drama. Without Hickson, Cleveland wouldn't have a young player to include in a summer sign-and-trade if, say, LeBron stays and Chris Bosh or Joe Johnson wants to join him. Keeping Hickson allows the Cavs to say to Toronto/Atlanta, "Bosh/Johnson is leaving anyway -- give him the max and flip him to us, and we'll give you Hickson, two future No. 1s and $3 million, and sign Shaq for one year and $10 million to make the swap of contracts work ... do we have a deal?" Thanks again, Ernie. You just opened the window for Cleveland to win five straight titles.

I know during the playoffs this isn't something most will be thinking about, but was something I havent considered until I read this. Kind of exciting to imagine.

I'm going to throw a bit of a wild card out there. I've mentioned this guys name before. How about CP3? With the emergence of Darren Collison CP3 might be more expendable especially with a new coach wanting to bring in his own philosophy.

it's possible. no guarantees with stoudemire either, you could still make a run at him.
the great thing is, the cavs are in good position because the free agent class, as it has been mentioned 8 million times is extremely deep.
and dan gilbert would be glad to pay for a bosh or stoudemire contract in a sign and trade. no question about it.
or, you can build off what you have with hickson. it's a nice position to be in.

now that would be hilarious. not only getting the trade deadline deals we wanted from PHX in back-to-back years but having to wait for the summer to get it.
but, because Kerr was a slow draw, getting Jamison AND Stoudemire for next year's team.

bron-jamison-stoudemire
hellllllllllllllllo
and you know what, maybe it wasn't kerr, but maybe ferry, who thought "man, if i could get one of these guys WITHOUT giving up jj, we could turn that around and do a sign and trade over the summer!" which is why stoudemire is not a cav right now.

the only problem is that I don't think the Cavs will have the most attractive offer on the table for the Suns.
other teams with cap space will be able to offer a young, promising player PLUS cap relief (from their cap space). PHX ownership (Sarver) will most likely go that route. Not to mention a decent 1st round pick in this year's draft (cheap young player that is marketable to fans who are angry at the loss of Amare).
so, Joakhim Noah as a Sun is a better possibility than JJ Hickson as a Sun. Sadly.
and I don't know why he even mentioned Atlanta. no way they give us JoeJ for a backup PF (i like Hickson a lot, but he's not going to be better than Josh and Horford anytime soon).

but the point is, the free agent class is so deep that the cavs could possibly land someone, that increases their chances of possibly doign something
if the class was weak and it was stoudemire, bosh and like 2 other all star caliber players, it would be tough.
i agree about jj, he's more potential than anything else (and if he doesn't get off the bench, it definitely doesn't help) but if he develops a consistent jump shot he could be a great rotation guy.

i agree, we definitely could get someone. and I was ruling out Atlanta just because even if Hickson realizes his potential, Atlanta doesn't need him. PHX is a possibility though I think Sarver forces them to take more financial considerations than we can do.
but, once you get down to the next level of guys it is much more plausible (best of which is Rudy Gay)

using this as a list: http://nba.fanhouse.com/2010/04/06/top-50-2010-nba-free-agents/Here are the most likely guys I could see us target for a possible sign-n-trade. Yao Ming - ok, the word is he is not going to opt-out. and, even if he did, the Rockets are not going to let him go (too much of a marketing boon to them). however, with our chinese investors and LeBron's interest in becoming a Chinese icon, I felt the need to include him. Amare - we'd have to hope that he and his agent want the full max (which Miami cannot offer him as a FA) and that he and his agent play hardball with the Suns (and they really want to get something in return for losing him). he's at least possible. Gay - memphis would either have to be convinced he is leaving no matter what or we'd have to be willing to offer him more $$$ than they are willing to pay him. the real question is with Marc Gasol and Randolph, would they really need Hickson? same issue as with Atlanta, but Randolph isn't as entrenched long-term in Memphis. David Lee - now wouldn't this be funny. of course, Walsh could never do it because it would be career suicide. not only losing out on LeBron/Wade, but also trading away the fan favorite player to LeBron's team? after Lee, there isn't a player I would trade Hickson's potential for (lower than Lee on this list)....wait it out and possibly trade Hickson at the trade deadline next year for a guy someone is trying to jettison (much more likely) as you can see, i'm sort of pessimistic that we'll be able to get somebody this summer worth Hickson, but I do see him becoming quite the trade chip next season.

Yeah ... but the way Noah is spewing smack you'd think they were the team up 2-0.

Not sure what team showed up in the playoffs but they aren't going anywhere. This is a sad game...once again Mike brown outcoached and out prepared. Our centers are horrible and look worse because mo plays less d than a traffic cone.

I think the Cavs forgot to get on the bus. The guys that are out there just flat out look like they can't handle the lowly #8 seed.
They're getting punked up and down the floor.
Browns is the Browns

Exactly...we look like the 8 seed..Mike brown infuriates me..its obvious we aren't atheletic enough inside yet jj goes from starting to zero minutes..if bulls win this and next...it could get ugly..

The Cavs will lose this series because Mike Brown is a horrible coach.
He FINALLY puts Lebron on Rose at the end of the game. He should put James at point for the rest of the series and get JJ on the floor.
It god dammned embrassing. Get ready for the most embrassing cleveland sports moment yet. Its coming.

Lets see if Mike Brown makes and adjustment worth a snot the rest of the way. He sure made great adjustments for Charlotte this year and Orlando last year.
I am glad you can laugh about it. Maybe you want to start naming all the brilliant coaching moves Mike Brown has made when it counted in the playoffs.
Dont worry I wont wait up to long.

The one thing I will say about Brown is he's really making a mistake not playing JJ.
There are match ups where he won't play because there just aren't minutes but Andy is getting completely neutralized by Noah. A little more athleticism on both ends would really help.
In the end, anytime Hinrich scores 27, Chicago is probably going to win. Cavs were just a little too lackadaisical early.

It's true, i've said it for a few years and people think i'm just being negative or i have an agenda against brown, and maybe I do, its he can't coach, he doesn't know how to prepare teams, he doesn't know how to adjust. We are where we are because of ferry and lebron. I pray if we lose this year, and for some reason Lebron stays, i hope mike brown goes, he's had a chance, can't do it. I mean how do you have JJ sitting there having had started a ton of games going INTO the playoffs and even after we got Z back, a true center, STILL start JJ, and then against a very atheletic chicago team he can't even get minutes. You have to see what he can do and you have to keep him playing. Mo is such a HUGE liability on D, and i mean HUGE, how do you not trot gibson out there and see if he can stay in front of rose or hinrich a bit. Mo sure wasn't. We just aren't physical enough, the one thing we brought shaq here to do was clog the lane and protect the rim, he hasn't done either. We will probably win the series, but I haven't see the #1 overall seed play yet, hopefully they are trapped in the closest waiting to get out

Is this the same team that beat the celtics a couple days ago, when boston had something to play for? If thats the case the Cavaliers are being tested and that is a good thing.
Yes I am sugar coating this loss, perhaps giving more credit to Chicago than is deserved. The playoffs are long, have to keep a level head

We will probably win the series
Don't be so sure about that.
If Chicago wins on Sunday, we've got a problem on our hands. - And let me tell you, Chicago will win on Sunday.
Suppose we do end up winning this series against Chicago (not a given) should any of us expect to beat Boston, then Orlando, then LA/Den/Dall

Yeah, I'm about finished already. This team is not going to get to the Eastern Conference Finals, let alone the NBA Finals. - Not happening. Don't waste your time hoping. - I'm not.
I don't know why, but it actually feels good to type this. Why bother hoping anymore?
In case any of you haven't noticed, we had a 21 point lead in game 1 which Chicago cut to 7. Chicago was in game 2 until the last few minutes where Moon hit a couple clutch 3's, and then Lebron took over.
- That means that we had a hard time putting away the #10 seed at home - supposedly the weakest team in the playoffs. Meanwhile, both Orlando, and Boston, soundly beat their opponents in games one and two.
Fast forward to tonight. Chicago, the supposed worst team in the playoffs, kicks the snot out of us and at one point builds up a 21 point lead. - Do you guys know what that means? It means that we really aren't that good.
We will not win game 4 on Sunday. - Don't bother hoping. Chicago will win by more than 10. We'll come back to Cleveland and win game 5, then Chicago will win game 6, and then Chicago will win the series in 7.
Okay, suppose we find a way to beat Chicago, all that is going to happen is Boston beating us in 5 or 6 next round. - It will not go further than that. I am 100 percent certain.
We're not that good. Yes, it will happen to us again. Oh well. Lebron is gone. This sucks, and I don't know why I had my hopes up in the first place.

this just in to the newsroom.
larry dolan has bought the cleveland cavaliers. in turn he has has traded lebron to the new york knicks for prospects, cash, and a player be named later.
also into the newsroom newly drafted cornerback joe haden has tore his acl while drunk driving on his way to cleveland, he may have also raped someone in the process.
and finally, in a stunning development, jim tressel has resigned from the university of ohio state and has taken the job in michigan

It's more than one game bro. We have been progressively worse since the first half of game 1. - Tonight, we lost. We got the crap kicked out of us.
We are facing the lowest seed in the entire playoffs, and we were down by 21 at one point, and of course ended up losing. - We could have easily lost game 2.
It isn't happening man. Sorry. - Believe me, I want this as bad as anybody else, but I won't ignore what is obvious.
