Other teams expect Redskins to take Berry at No. 4 Posted: April 22nd, 2010 | Jason La Canfora | Tags: 2010 NFL Draft, Albert Haynesworth, Eric Berry, Jammal Brown, New Orleans Saints, Washington Redskins As teams continue to talk and jockey for position before the start of the first round Thursday night, at least two clubs in the top 10 of the draft are adjusting their mocks to give Tennessee safety Eric Berry to the Redskins at No. 4 overall. The Redskins, who need a safety, recently have been in contact with Berry’s people and placed a very high grade on him. The Redskins still could end up taking a left tackle at No. 4, but they might look to the trade market for that. Dealing DT Albert Haynesworth for a second- or a third-round pick would allow them to get in the ballpark for a move at a restricted free agent tackle such Jammal Brown of the Saints. web pageLets hope its a smoke screen!

if i was washington and knew that KC, Seattle, and CLE all might want Berry, I would absolutely send out signals that he is my guy.

Me neither. As far as I'm concerned you can throw a blanket over the two when evaluating their talents.

Then why is Berry talked about more as the better player?

That's debatable. MIke Mayock said Thomas is the best safety to come out in 5 years. If we could get one of these two, I couldn't complain.

Screw you Washington!
It's all smoke and mirrors....I don't think Washington will draft Berry, but they know 2 or 3 teams behind them will.

skins didnt invest a 2nd and 4th in McNabb just to watch him get murdered behind that line while they draft a safety that they dont really need. It is predraft smoke just as it is with the Chiefs. Both want to trade down and both want OL.
Now if Berry is gone I believe the trade down is coming. Buffalo has the next pick with Okland right behind them and if Berry is gone it means one of the big 3 tackles are available. If u want a tackle u have to get in front of buffalo or settle for a turd.
Phili also needs a safety and Thomas is thed stud remaining. I think tackle and safety makes the Browns #7 super duper valuable no matter how this plays out.

Yeah, I think Washington is blowing smoke up 5-7's arses personally. People will create a buzz to get a team high on a guy to take the bait.

This is similar to the screen that Det did in 04 about Winslow, which in turn made Davis give up a 2nd (right?) to move up a slot and get him.
