Yea that got awkward for a moment... Kiper wasn't letting mcshay speak though and was being sort of rude all around, sometimes i wonder if kiper feels like mcshay is a threat.....

Kiper came off looking like a real ass.
He said something about how dumb it would be for teams to pass on Clausen ..... and McShat asked something like "Well, what if every team passes?" and Kiper just went off. He wouldn't even let McShay get a word in.
He really looked like a jerk.

Looks like even more of an ass now that every team DID pass on Clausen

When McShay questioned Kiper about whether he would commit to Claussen being a tp 10 pick, it started everything. Then the further Claussen fell, the more PO'd Kiper got! He missed big time on Claussen and the two have been arguing the point for weeks. Advantage = McShay Obviously Kiper isn't happy.

He also said that someone was going to get one heck of a QB at the bottom of round 1. (referring to Clausen) Guess that wasn't quite right either.

I loved it... you could just tell that Kiper was fuming with every pick that went by without Clausen's name being called. I thought his head was going to explode when the Donks moved up to grab Tebow. Funny stuff. Hair-Boy had it coming for being a complete tool earlier when he and McShay were discussing Clausen before the draft kicked off.

It almost seemed to me watching the draft that Kiper had some sort of personal stake in where Clausen got picked;

Hehehe..................That's because he's staked his reputation to Clausen. I believe he stated, and I'm paraphrasing here: "I'm staking my reputation on Clausen. If he fails, I'll quit."
Well, here we are on day 2, and the "4th best prospect in the entire draft" according to Kiper is still sitting there.
Kiper has been taking heat for weeks on Clausen and his anger is bubbling over now that 32 teams have say "HELL NO!"
McShay-1 Kiper-0
I think McShay is not nearly as good as ESPN wishes him to be, but after seeing the "QB school" show with Gruden, I bumped Clausen into the 2nd. You can bet the rest of the league took note of that debacle by Clausen and dumped him down as well.
I fully expect the Bills to waste BOTH their 1st and 2nd round selections by taking the wrong players, which means I think those idiots in Buffalo will take Clausen...........and that Kiper will crow as how great a deal the Bills got.

I never pay attention to any of these guys. If they were so good then why did Randy Lerner pay 50mil over 5 years to Mike Holmgren when he could have gotten one of these two? Well because they can evaluate talent as good as any armchair quarterback and that's about it.
I know both of these men are very wealthy because of the draft but they are not banking 50 mil over 5 years. If they were as good as they claim then a team would have bought thier services by now.

So how long before we can say Clausen failed? 3 years? Or "he's still in the league he just hasn't had a chance yet"? Kiper will never quite over this. At least not in the next 10 yrs.

What you really have to be carefull of IMO is when they start the whole "This guy is really climbing on most draft boards." Once the combines are over, NFL FO's pretty well have fine tuned their boards. What these guys say after that point are mostly all hype. NFL FO's have been scouting these kids for a long time. They know the available talent and their boards are pretty well set. Early on they are pretty accurate. But changing your thinking by what they say later on? Well that's why some of the mis-informed are disliking the Haden pick.

Well, it depends..............on how long before Clausen is out of the league, because Kiper recently said about Mike Williams, the receiver he hyped as much as Clausen from the 2005 draft, that he'd never been more wrong about a player.
So I'd say if Clausen has failed in 3 years, give Kiper until 2016.
EDIT:
So I just saw what everyone was talking about with the exchange between McShay and Kiper.
MAN did Kiper ever go off his rocker! I'd not seen that part as I wanted to see the picks after I got off work but didn't want to stay up all night watching the DVR replay of the draft second-by-second.
Kiper is embarrassed. He should be. That may have been the first time I've ever seen McShay lose his cool and Kiper paid the price *L*

OT - sounds like I need to find that on youtube. I am sure there won't be a video link on ESPN.com
Pitt - I think that is true for every team except the Raiders.
