Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are. 2nd round pick, if it isn't gonna be a QB. Who do you guys want?
I've heard people say Taylor Mays. I don't know much about him, just that he supposidly is a better athlete than he is football player. But if we could get him and bring in Darren Sharper, we'd have a much better safety squad.
How about Everson Griffen? USC seems to put out good defensive guys, can he play OLB for us? How about RT can Charles Brown play that position?

Charles Brown would be my pick.
Kindle is another good one.
Chad Jones and Nate Allen would work. I wouldn't be horribly upset with Taylor Mays, but not all that happy either.

I've got a pick one list for you:
Nate Allen Taylor Mays A. Benn *won't even try his first name* Golden Tate Everson Griffen Sergio Kindle Rodger Saffold
you had a good run Hank.

First and foremost, I want Clausen. I'm not a huge fan of his, but in the 2nd, he is a steal.
After Clausen, I want Taylor Mays, Sergio Kindle, Everson Griffen, Rodger Saffold, and Linval Joseph.
My board is probably
1. Clausen 2. Mays 3. Saffold 4. Griffen 5. Kindle 6. Joseph

Right now Safety is topping the QB. So I would be looking at Mays and Allen.
Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!

Did Weatherspoon get drafted? I wouldn't mind him at all.

Thanks. I liked that guy. What LB or DL could be there next for us and is worthy of that pick?

Kindle, Griffen are probably the top two guys for LB. I'd guess Price and ??? for DL.
you had a good run Hank.

I'm praying for Carrington to fall to the 3rd round. That would be awesome to pick him up later and still use our 2nd pick for something of great value.
A Haden, Mays, Carrington draft would be amazing.
you had a good run Hank.

Assuming no QB at #38, I would like to see Kindle there. I have a feeling he'll be gone, but one never knows, I guess. If Mangini thinks he can coach him up, I wouldn't mind Mays at this spot either.
That said, if we land Clausen at #38, that would work for me as well.

Jimmy C, Saffold, Allen, Joseph, Benn, Golden Tate in no order.

I'd actually like for us to trade back if we don't take McCoy. Go back to 45-50 and pick up a 4th.
I think McCoy's about 75% likely at this point.
If we can trade back there are plenty of guys that I think grade out similarly. My Top 5, non-QB, best fit for the Browns are:
Arrelious Benn, WR Sergio Kindle, OLB Terrence Cody, DL Dexter McCluster, WR Golden Tate, WR
If we played more Cover 3 I'd be all over Taylor Mays...but we don't so that's that.

Not only would he be a steal, but if he did bust it wouldn't cost us as much financially.
Guys I like that are still available and are possible picks for us in round 2 and aren't QB's:
OT - Charles Brown - USC WR - Golden Tate - Notre Dame DT - Terrence Cody - Alabama WR - Arrelious Benn - Illinois
I do think one of the QB's will be our pick.

By the way.....
I think Aaron Hernandez is a stud and could catch 6+ TDs a year for the right team. If we didn't have Ben Watson I'd be all over that guy.
Watching Florida games this past year I always thought I was watching Kellen Winslow running around out there in an 81 jersey.

I'm hoping for Allen to play safety, but I wouldn't be horribly upset with Taylor Mays. In the first? Mad as hell, in the second though I can live with the gamble because the guy has so much ability its unreal. But I'm hoping for Allen especially.

We could really use a Golden Tate
And if something goes askew with Rogers, I would like to see that big mountain of a man, Terrance Cody in a pumpkin helmet.

Other then McCoy i'd like to see us take FS Nate Allen or 1 of the WRs (A.Benn, G.Tate, D.Williams) .

No matter how the board falls. the Browns will definitely be able to fill an area of desperate need.
Left currently:
Allen Tate Mays (although I don't think that he fits their profile for a 2nd round player) Benn McCoy Clausen Prive Cody Kindle Griffen
Bo natter how the board falls ..... the Browns can grab a good player at a position of need.

Just wondering, is there anyway the Browns could do some dealing to get two picks in the 2nd round? If so, what would it take?
I'll take Allen and Saffold please.

it depends where that other 2nd rounder is at. it would probably take two thirds
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Ok, thanks. I like Allen a lot, but I think the pick will be McCoy. I just hope they don't trade up for him.

After Clausen, I want Taylor Mays
Why? Mays is not instinctive, takes poor angles and is not around the ball thatmuch.

Was I hallucinating but right after KC took Berry the draft ticker said Cleveland should take Taylor Mays...the same Taylor Mays still available in round 2. Do they hate on Cleveland or think Kokikis is still in the draft room.

No, you saw it, but it wasn't what you think it was. They were constantly showing fan chat from people following the draft at NFL.com... whomever it was (some Browns fan), they said that they'd take Mays at #25. I remember that specifically because I was thinking "why the hell is he talking about "#25"? "

Part of that is the system. I think that with Rob Ryan's scheme, he can be a force.

Thanks for the explanation. I did not understand that ticker was fan chat, i thought it was not draft expert but did not understand who would say to pick this guy so early. Again thanks for the explanation

Damian Williams is also available. Would be a very good slot receiver and probably more than that.

More like 3rd to 5th round.
If someone wastes a pick on spikes in the 2nd, they should be beaten and flogged.

Usually forty times don't hurt guys. But when you run a 5.05 as a linebacker that hurts you big time.
