It's gonna happen......Brown and Orange will raise the Lombardi.

I suppose this is a bit of a "Kelso" thread, but when we do, who would you like to see at halftime?

I thought of this when I was recently watching a KISS DVD that I borrowed from the library. While I appreciate many other artists, the spectacle that is KISS does fit the hype that is the Super Bowl (once in a while it's a pretty good game too...lol).

Some of my other all time favorites that would complete a perfect evening would be Neil Young (no medley...just an entire half of "Cowgirl In The Sand"), Ted Nugent, even BB King. All are as good on stage as they are in the studio.

While I realize that I shouldn't be contributing my 2 cents to this thread, I gotta say this - I really didn't care about the halftime entertainment when the Steelers played in the Superbowl.

It's different when your team actually plays in that game....you could really care less about bands/artists and whatnot...you just focus entirely on the game and nothing else but the game.

Nobody here will care either.

Which is why this truly is a Kelso thread.

At the rate we are going, most current artists will be dead and buried by then.

Unfortunately it may be so far down the road that the band members may still be in elementary school. Let us hope that the Rolling Stones are still around in their very old age.

Who is Kelso?

heh, I briefly thought that it might be cool to have someone from our last championship year perform... then I went and looked up the Grammy awards for 1964 and the top Rock & Roll performance that year was Petula Clark singing 'Downtown' with Best Male Vocal being Louis Armstrong doing 'Hello Dolly' and the Best New Artist was some group called 'The Beatles'.

Damn, it's been a while

I can understand that. I know I didn't pay much attention to halftime at either Buckeye National Championship games.

Still though, the TiVo / DVD would be enjoyable later.

Well, most of my "favorites" are a little "too past their prime" for a great half time.

So my vote goes to "Pearl Jam".

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Huge KISS fan myself. I believe they either did the pregame or halftime for the Broncos-Falcons SB in Jan. '99.

There was a halftime? I don't even remember that, maybe I'll watch my National Championship dvd today and see what's up.

You are optimistic with names like BB King...that guy has to be 80 by now.

My guess is many of the band members who play during our SB aren't born yet or the SB will bring back an acient act like the Brittney Spears Revival Tour.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

Yeah, I thought about that when I included him. I do believe he is still performing...only seated. I'll be the eternal optimist and hope we make it before BB can't.

Torrent would have to be the way to see it. Between Gene and the NFL, they'd charge a mint to get a sneak peek at archived footage on a site, or youtube, etc.

Considering how long it might take to actually see the Browns in the Super Bowl, we'd better pick music that won't sound really trite and stupid by then...

...which eliminates just about everyone who's popular right now, since the crap already sounds pretty trite and stupid.

My vote: The Brian Setzer Orchestra. Fun, upbeat, and pretty universal in appeal.

Well, isn't the old joke that if the Browns got to the SB then Hell froze over? Well then, if these "kids" are cool again (and I use that term loosely) then hell certainly has frozen over.

I would say that we should get Warren Zevon, but he stopped making music, he's de-composing.

But seriously, why not the Red Hot Chili Peppers or Pearl Jam, maybe a Phish reunion. These would all be decent choices

It'll be a band where none of the members were born right now.
