And Mo is an average PG, at best.
At least the MB one is debateable. This one is not.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Starting this thread is kind of pointless refs since the series will probabally end tonight I have a question for the board. Who has a brighter future in the west OKC or Portland? (if oden can live up to his potential)

One word answer: Durantula
Slightly longer answer: I will end up playing more games in the NBA than Oden. He's done. (I hope I'm wrong)

I'm really pulling for the guy
Portland plays a LOT better defense than OKC right now but I think that could change over time.

well, you answered your own question. if Oden lives up to his potential, Portland. but, not many think that is going to happen at this point. it's more about salvaging his career and becoming a decent starting center (his potential was through the roof afterall).
so, the question more becomes, which core do you trust more and which owner/FO do you trust more to keep the core together.
Portland Core: Roy, Aldridge, Oden, Rudy, Bayless OKC Core: Durant, Westbrook, Sefolosha, Harden, Green
OKC has more high-end talent with Durant and Westbrook capable of more than anyone on Portland's roster (Roy included). However, Portland has more overall depth in their core.
in the NBA, it is easier to fill-in talent depth than find those high-end gems, so I would go with OKC. The only negative is that I trust Portland to keep their whole team together and add key pieces more than I trust that OKC will be able to do that on a long-term with their financial backing.
should be interesting to watch, but I would give OKC the slight edge on being able to get into the NBA Elite over Portland. I'm thinking Portland ends up becoming more like the late 80's/early 90's Cavs and the early 2000 Wizards (to name 2 examples). Teams that have a ton of talent and give their fans hope, but ultimately don't have that one top5 NBA talent to get them over the top.

I think OKC will be better, with durant, who i think is the best pure scorer in the league and westbrook, collison, they got a nice group, they need a threat at center, but they are going to be good. And with Oden, and all the injuries, hell, at 39 years old, how many more years does he got left anyways.

Anyone watching the Heat-Celtics game on NBA TV? I'm trying, but Tom Heinsohn is really difficult to listen to. Still can't figure out why they don't have a national crew calling this game.

Depth means it's coming from your bench though. Twan is just another starter. Good to see that we have other useful weapons. Even Moon and West off the bench have been pretty good.

Honestly, Moon has looked great all series, in limited minutes. I saw the breakdown of playoff PER, and Moon actually had the second best PER on our team ... after Lebron at a rediculous ~38.

Yeah, he's been a huge spark off the bench. He wasn't messing around with those opportunities he got in the last few games of the regular season and I'm glad Mike Brown is rewarding him with PT. He came to this series ready to ball.

it's an awesome channel. i usually flip between that and the nhl network to get my highlights. so much better than having to wait through brett favre/redsoxyankees/tiger garbage on espn.
and the highlight packages are more than 2 or 3 plays, you get a good capsule of the game.
nhl network is th same

Even though this game is tight I'm actually very optimistic right now. LeBron is finnally just letting his teamates take over the scoring. Everyone know's he's going to explode eventually.

You have Time Warner? If so you get the MLB Network too, you may have already known that but wanted to give you a heads up. The MLB Network is great.

Just be glad you didn't find it until after that Celtics game was over. It was basically unlistenable. So bad that coming out of a break the NBA TV in-studio guys told Tom Heinsohn to lay off of the officals as he called the game.

Definitely most overrated PG in the association if you can even call him that the dude does nothing but stand and wait for the 3 ball and plays no defense. We need to trade for CP3 in the offseason.

The way he's holding his arm, is that good or bad, or is he just trying to protect it?

well, my guess tendonitis is the elbow. i noticed he had more padding on it this game.
hopefully, he can make it all the way but if it is... he is going to need rest or it could get really bad

Honestly ... I don't think it's that bad. He shot the first one fine, and was just sort of wiggling his arm as if it was a minor issue. Then he sort of had a "I'm Lebron James!" moment, and missed that left handed shot ... After realizing it wasn't a very smart thing to do, then suddenly he was clenching his arm, and protecting it way more than he was earlier.
12 more wins to go.

Yeah i've said my piece on Mo, he's just not that good. He's streaky and chokes under pressure, but that's really expected. That's not what really bothered me this game, more of Mike Brown and his adjustments, seriously, AV has given us squat this whole series, he puts ZERO pressure on the defense and you've got 3 of the bulls starters with 5 fouls, AV has five fouls, Even though Shaq had 5, you have to go to him down the stretch because he does put pressure on the defense. And letting Mo stay out there was beyond me, it sure the hell wasn't for his D, you've got to get moon/ap out there with west because they atleast try to play D, i have never seen a player get picked so easy, he don't even try to go overtop the pick, thus shaq/AV in foul trouble. I loved Jamison tonight, I wish we'd run more for him at the end, only one tonight other than delonte that could put it in. I am concerned about Lebrons elbow, if its serious I will def. start believing in the cleveland curse. Part of me thinks he was acting after everyone got on him for shooting left handed. Atleast I hope thats it. ESPN did report he will have an MRI tonight/tomorrow. probably tendonitis like in Jamisons knee, some rest a few shots and he should be ok. So glad Z signed to sit on the bench..lol Feel bad for the big guy. I have a feeling we'll need him against boston and orlando if we make it, and then again against OKC

andy didn't have a good series outside of game 1, but he matches up well against boston. they always have problems with him.
boston is going to push us, this is not going to be a breeze. i think cavs will win, barring lebron's elbow not being too serious.
it's going to be chippy, emotional and i can't see it going any less than 6 games.
i think it's healthy though. let orlando cruise through either of those teams still fighting. they're likely to sweep again.

i had tendonitis in my elbow and played baseball for about a month with it to the point I couldn't handle it anymore. I could play about half - 3/4 the game and after that the end of games were so painful I had to sit out for a few weeks and heal up. hopefully its not that.
he has time till saturday. he was just on tv yesterday. he doens't know what is wrong. they did an mri and there is nothing structurally wrong. so he's gna try and rest up and figure it out

they had lbj on tnt and he just said at times it feels like you hit your funny bone. is that what tendinitis is like? i've never had it.
he didn't seem very concerned though, and he'll have wednesday thursday friday and saturday during the day to let it heal.
i would be lying if i said i wasn't worried though.

yep... and it can get really bad if you over work it and can go on for a long time. http://www.utdol.com/patients/content/topic.do?topicKey=~zywyvMeV9OfeuhTendons are tough bands of tissue that connect muscles to bones. There are several types of tendon problems (called tendinopathies): •Repetitive activities and sudden trauma can injure tendons and lead to inflammation, pain, and difficulty using the joint. This is called tendinitis. •As people age, tendons can break down (degenerate) or even tear; this is called tendinosis. Symptoms of tendinosis usually last more than a few weeks. •Less commonly, tendon problems can be caused by other conditions, including rheumatic diseases. Tendinopathies are common problems. The risk of having a tendinopathy increases with age and is greater in people who routinely perform activities that require repetitive movement that increases stress on susceptible tendons. Treatment of tendinopathy focuses on resting and protecting the injured tendon so that it can heal, inflammation can resolve, and muscle strength can improve. In most people, tendinopathy resolves with little or no treatment.

Not tendinitis, sounds like a stinger. I had the same thing in my elbow at one point in time.
A nerve gets pinched and you get a burning or weak sensation throughout your arm. It's not serious, you just have to get used to it flaring up from time to time. LeBron's reference of "it feels like getting your funny bone hit" is a good description of what it is like to have one (or at least that's exactly what I experienced) .
It's one of those things that you just have to shake off. After a few minutes, it feels normal again. The initial injury can be really scary, simply because it is a very odd feeling but it's almost like your arm momentarily falls asleep. The nerve calms back down and you're typically fine.
In my case, it wasn't something that continually kept flaring up (if anyone is worried about that). After a few months, it stopped happening all together.

Where did you hear we start on saturday? Nevermind, just read an article. Considering atl and mil are tied up at 2 games, I didn't think we would start until Sunday at the earliest. would have been nice if Miami could have at least got 2 wins
