KingCob - Definitely not Rucker that I am thinking of. It was someone who was not drafted by the Browns which is why I can't remember for sure who it was. I thought he went to a ruden team which could fit with Smith being from the Bucs.
If I get a chance I'll try to research it a little and see what I come up with.

Anyone have an opinion on any of our former QB?
Do you mean the one Mary Kay wants to sleep with?
I told her I was married already.
We're trying to throw the ball downfield and he checked the ball down to Trent Richardson and the Indians on the choice.

Are you thinking of Martin Rucker?
Figured it out. The guy I was thinking about was Teyo Johnson out of Stanford drafted by the Raiders in 2003. He was a TE/WR hybrid.

WE lost Hieden and Royal stinks so we need more TE help. I think the browns are hoping more than a body.

I don't know about his blocking but if he can get back to rookie form he could be a poor mans Winslow.

We have Moore and signed Ben Watson.
I would hardly think that a kid with fewer than 50-some career catches is being looked at as our next Steve Heiden.
Heiden was reliable, a good blocker and a good pass catcher... this kid is simply fortunate to have a team call him.

Smith is nothing great but he is solid. He will prolly beat out Royal.....thats a good thing. Watson and Moore will likely be 1 and 2. Anyway Smith couldnt win a spot on the Patriot team last year with Watson there and not much else.
You dont have to win every game just the next one!

We didn't lose Heiden. He was cut because he was no longer useful.
Royal does stink.
It would be nice to have a Gates, Gonzalez, Davis type player but after the signings of Watson and Smith, and the semi-emergence of Moore we don't need help.
I agree we are hoping he is more than a body, but I would be okay with him being better than Royal and losing that guy.

Didn't the Browns carry 4 tight ends on the roster all through the season in 1994, (93-94) when they last won a playoff game?
None of them were very good but one of them was a real good blocker, Galbreath was one.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

haha, Davis. He had a good year last year, but up until then he was more of a dissapointment. I remember him getting chewed out by Singletary for not being a team player or something.
How about Owen Daniels, Dallas Clark, Jason Witten type TE. I'd all put them beyond Davis, whose had one good year after being selected 6th?

Vernon Davis is an athletic marvel with soft hands. He can block, he can catch and he can force separation in the red zone.
He was a bit of a headcase coming out of school, but once Singletary laid down the law by kicking him out of a game (telling him to hit the showers), he's come out as one of the top TE's in the game.
I'd still take Witten over any of them though (best blocking/receiving combo right now).

If you have a TE that poses virtually no threat in the passing game then why replace him with another TE that poses virtually no threat in the passing game? Get a few TEs that can catch and instead of putting in a blocking TE on obvious run plays, put an OLman in that spot and run the freakin' ball.
Sounds great DC but any TE that can catch at all leaves the opposing D guessing as to whitch type of play you are running.
Back in the day Da Bears used to do the T eligable thing so I imagine you could make the OL player inserted as an eligable Receiver. It's just that as a general rule it would seem to leave it to conjecture moreso to have a really good run blocking TE that you just throw to enough to keep their D guessing far more so than by inserting yet another OL player on the play.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I think Mike Martz leaving had something to do with that too. TE's seem to disappear when he's involved.

That's a good call, only they don't seem to disappear, they do. And that's the reason Chicago signed Mamamoola, something like that,he's a good blocker and that's it.
Indecision may,or maynot,be my problem

McCoy on opening day will walk across Lake Erie, stopping to point out where the fish are, feed the stadium with 2 fish and 3 loaves of bread,
Heck, that right there alone would make him a STEAL in the third round. Does he have any carpentry experience in his background?
