Much to my Chagrin we had to make the long drive to Cleveland today to pick-up Medmann junior from Case Western & bring him & his stuff from the dorm back to Cincy for the summer. When we dropped him off in August we asked the lady at the desk where we could find a grocery store, she just pointed in a general western direction & added just DON'T turn left on Euclid & when I asked why? she said you'll end up in East Cleveland. Yikes! I thought our "Over the Rhine" & West End areas were bad but they are tiny compared the boarded up slum areas of Cleveland. Detroit may be the current title holder of America's poorest city but Cleveland sure ain't far behind.  P.S. - The Bengals will sweep you Cleveland Clowns again this year no doubt. You need a stud quarterback & a stud running back to get to the playoffs & you got neither so I guess it's the division basement for you Clowns again!  WHO-DEY!! -Med-

I'm sad you report that there is actually a Med JR.  If Cleveland is so bad,that's not saying much for junior if that's the only place he could go to school.You always manage to take shots at yourself,even when you think you're smaking others.  Poor Poor Medgirl

I live around Cincinnati, the place is full of trash also. And most sensible people from Cincinnati  realize it's not just Detroit, but a miniature, dumpier version. Remember as you drive around Over the Rhine on your way to work.  Cincinnati had to call in the national guard in order to shut down a riot earlier in the century. Can Detroit claim that much fame over the past 10 years much less Cleveland?

So you are trashing Cleveland while telling us you sent your son to Cleveland to go to school,which BTW happens to be one of the finest medical schools in the world?
Oh and one other thing Einstein, East Cleveland is not Cleveland,it is a separate city all to itself.

 If you turn left on Euclid Ave when you're at Case you're either going to end up downtown or in like Wickliffe/Willoughby, depending on which direction you were facing before you turned left. Neither place is particularly undesirable. The part of East Cleveland you're going to go through isn't "scary" or anything at all.

I know this is the Smack Shack, but you gotta give Medmann some credit. He shipped his kid up to Cleveland to attend Case (class of '07, right here!). Case Western/ the Clinic/UH/ all the startup biomed companies are going to bring Cleveland up from the depths of Detroit-esque poverty. The medical industry is going to save Cleveland, you heard it here first (ok, you've probably heard it before, I'm just saying). What does Cinci have going for it right now? If they could market and sell race riots and white trash, they would be golden, but I don't see that happening. Way to go, Medmann, for giving your son a chance to succeed.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

I just want to add also that you have an EPIC pothole problem in Cleveland, I did not think I was going to have a suspension left before I made it back to the highway. You know you CAN fill those. Case seems like a good school & with the scholarship he got I don't blame for going there I just don't like having to drive to Cleveland but then again who does?

Sure he can drive himself that's no problem, it's all his stuff that's the problem, we filled an SUV & a full size car to the gills & that's from a dorm room. Next year he will be in an apartment, yikes!

are you so ignorant to not understand that any area immediate to a university is pretty crappy? are you really saying that the area around u of cinci is a paradise? do you not know the immediate areas to schools like upenn and usc? get a clue.
while you're at it, take your son home and keep him there. i saw plenty of annoying cinci kids and their crap "who dey" 1 year out of the 4 when they lucked into success all the while claiming their team sucked during every fumble, int, loss.

all the Cinci kids I knew at Case cared much more about their HS football teams. and, who can blame them.
I don't think they even realized the Bengals were down there too (or maybe they just wouldn't admit it to themselves)
