Oh yes we did, we tried VERY hard. I'll go get you all the articles. There was a huge, HUGE thread over on the RCF forums following the trade rumors for Amare this year AND last year.

If you guys wanna be angry at me for defending OUR team go right ahead and be angry, just shows the kind of spine you have (or lack?)

If you can defend this type of performance, you're expectations aren't very high.

Although the Cavs have not played very well, the refs certainly haven't helped matters. There have been a lot of no calls, or unecessary calls that were just plain stupid.

this won't go down as a heartbreaker, only a choke job, at least when we had the drive/fumble etc, we were competitive

Why does it matter?? So we can Avery Johnson come in and coach the scrub team that will be left next year?

Bye Mike Brown... Can't get out of the second round with this roster? Maybe you can coach somewhere in Europe.

#1 seed two years in a row and we don't get to the finals. Classic Cleveland choke job. Why even bother getting my hopes up for the playoffs? Maybe next year we can get guys our our team that will actually try during the playoffs.

If we just would've brought this effort last game, some of these no calls probably go our way.
But we didn't and this is the end of the series. Well, hopefully LeBron stays becasue we don't have enough cap room to sign a D-Wade as much as the pipe dreamers want to dream.

I just really cannot believe how this team fell apart. Actually, though, the warning signs were there in the Bulls series, when they speepwalked through games. Now they're just getting beat in every aspect of the game. this could be the 3rd 20+ loss in this series. Everyone on the team should be embarassed by that.

At least our Browns don't bother to give us any hope. We know a few weeks in that they are done. Cavs just teased us.

PHOENIX – Believing that Amare Stoudemire could make the difference with winning an NBA title and ultimately keeping LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers made a bid to the Phoenix Suns for the All-Star power forward, two league sources familiar with the offer said Friday.
The next one is from our very own Briand Windhorst on why he thinks we are making a mistake by going for Amare at last seasons trade deadline:
http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2009/02/nba_insider_cavaliers_have_tra.html
Quote:
For Stoudemire, the Suns want some young stars as part of the package and the Cavs may not be able to deliver that. It also seems like Stoudemire has struggled fitting in when he's not the main star, which he wouldn't be here.
Those were just the first 2 I found quickly, check the dates. Trade deadline 2009. But I was actually on the forums following the gigantic trade deadline thread on the day of the deadline from work and Amare was coming up in links in the press left and right. Linking to other message boards isn't allowed here but go to their site and do a simple search and it will come up and you can spend days reading it if you want to, with links abound.

Well I have to admit, I would rather be teased than sit through what the Browns give us year after year.

Sorry, but I don't buy that.
That was a long time ago. The Cavaliers got through the Bulls series. They are just being out-hustled and out-efforted (if that's a word) .... and that's not because they rested in a few meaningless games.

Having all the hype of this is our year and then to see this... I'd rather just keep the expectations low and then be surprised.

I'm at work streaming the game and the feed just went down. I might miss the comeback or I might be saved from misery. Either way this stinks.

you dont have to buy it, don't make it any less true. It wasn't a couple games, lebron sat out for 2 weeks. and yeah we got through the bulls series the number 8 seed by the skin on our teeth. That does nothing to back up your argument. We haven't had any chemistry this whole playoff run.

Effort and hustle were the 2 key missing factors ..... and "too much rest" has nothing to do with that.
