Well I found out about black friday shopping 4 days ago, I didn't really understand what it was. So I got advice from some friends and went to CompUSA at 7:45 PM (it opened at 9 pm for 5 items on sale) I wanted a wireless router soo i was really excited, so the doors open, I get in........me being a smallest person there (110 lbs) i got pushed to the side, and didn't get anything.( So much for waiting 1 hour and 15 mins). So I get home really pissed.

Well I really wanted a router(10 bucks for a 70 dollar item) so I got in line at Circuitcity at 4:00, I was really lucky, I got there before a big crowd came in, i was about 150th in line. (out of like 600) So I run it grab my router and a few blank disc (CD-R, DVD-R) and I really needed an external harddrive, so i went to grab that and there were none left. I got in line to pay and gave all the stuff to my cousin, I started to ask random people if they could spare one of theres (they like 3) ofcourse everyone said no. We stood in line for 1 hour and 40 mins and some guy came up to us and said "do you want a external hard drive" i was like woah, all of a sudden the dude want to give us a external hard drive, so I wonder if hes trying to sell it to me, I follow him and he gives me one of his, I was like "THANKS!!!!". So yep I got it!!! It was a good day!!! ( I also bought greys anatomy season one and some headphones)

So what ya'll get?

I bought nothing but went out early to watch the show. Since we live in paradise[Gulf coast of Florida] with a pool and a heat pump we want for nothing.
My wife and I packed up our things and sold the old house. We liquidated much of our savings and bought a great home near the gulf...we ran away from our adult kids and grandkids and are having the time of our lives.

Just remembered I did make one purchase...bought a 2 bottle package of White Zinfadel for the wife...need to keep her happy.

I like black Fridays, not because of shopping, its because everyone is at retail stores which gives us grocerie workers a break after the big Thanksgiving crowd.

My wife made me go grocery shopping with her today. Some women driving a mini-van, talking on a cell phone almost ran over me in the parking lot.

I was another one that worked today and had no desire to go out there shopping with all the crazies!

It just amazes me when they advertise a product for sale at some really great deal..................and they do not let the public know that they only have five or six in stock and no rain checks!

At five a.m. you have 42 insane people standing in line (for the doors to open) all waiting for that same product...................talk about provoking violence!

Then when we turn on the news after a hard days work................we see people getting trampled on............and people with black eyes............all for a deal to save a few bucks!

The only day of the year when I do watch the news and laugh at violence.....these people are igornant!

I can't stand those nazis that want to fight over dumb crap (like my sister in law) They had some video of 2 women duking it out for buy one get one free Elmo's

Fed the baby at 4:45, stayed up, went to Circuit City and Best Buy. Got a 1 gig MP3 player for my bro that was $35, then I got myself a Samsung HD 42" DLP TV for only $799. It was a non-advertised kind of secret sale. The price was listed at the store as around $1150. A little birdie told me it would actually be $799.

Man.. i worked.. retail can suck on black friday at opening.. everyone rushing in to get these "deals" and crowding around hoping to get one.. and what do people do? they surround you expecting you to help them even though there's another person to the left of you, right of you and behind you all asking for the same thing.

and of course you have the people who come in later expecting to find these special "deals" and are disappointed and sometimes angry at you because there are none available. i mean our starting inventory on our sale laptop was 60 of them... and guess what an hour after we opened, they were all gone.. Best Buy how many do they normally have? 5-18 of them.. and then what do you hear people say? "if you have them advertised, you should have enough to last the day.." even though even if we had 200 of them, they'd be gone by the time they got there.. and we even had the "limited to quanity on hand.. no rainchecks.. bluh bluh bluh.. " but it was still a good day for me.. getting a good sized paycheck next week

Nice, I picked up the 19" Samsung Widescreen Monitor for $129 (all instant) at Best Buy, then went to Sears and picked up a new leather jacket for $50. Then I went next door to Office Depot to pick up that APC Battery Backup Surge Protector for only 20 but they were gone already so I went home.

The main thing I wanted was that monitor and I got it so I'm happy. Now I have dual 19" Widescreen Samsung Monitors . Best Buy had a cheaper deal on another monitor so everyone was rushing to get to that one and I just casually walked up to the Samsung, picked it up, and walked straight to the checkout. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes, and on my way out, got a free Red Bull

Oh, and when I bought the TV, they had a sale on a kit that included the HDMI cable, a real nice surge protector, and an HD screen cleaner for $49.99. It was on sale until 11 for that price. Regular price was around $180 or $190. I think the HDMI cable alone was $80.

went to best buy at 400 in the morning....there was probably 2000 people in line my cousin was about half way back....the line basically went half way around the store...

i wanted a wii

went to walmart....was about 500th in line.....by 500 there were abou 500 more people behind me....

despite moving like metcalf on a punt return i get to the video aisle and they don't even have any in stock...nobody got one....ditto for circuit city.....

then i drive over to gamestop, and there is nobody there....some dude comes up and says they open at 700....i'm first in line....manager shows up 4 wii's hands out tickets, about 5 people leave with none, and everyone else goes back to there cars....

i ask the dude about ps3's he has two.....called my cousin, he got one, and so did i.....

not bad for 2 hours sleep...only thing that sucked is i had to be at work at 730...got there with 10 minutes to spare...

I went to Best Buy and Sears. Neither had a better price for my 50" Samsung HDTV, so I bought it online and saved about $500. So much for getting up early and fighting the crowds.

I'm glad that everything worked out for you on your shopping adventure.

The wife wanted to get a little shopping done, and her friend had to bail on her. Since I don't like my wife going to the mall alone at this time of year, I went with her.

We didn't do the 5am thing, headed out around 11am or so, and were done and home by 2pm. Knew what we needed and where to et it.

Lucky for us there are 2 new malls within 10 miles of our house, which has really helped dissipate the crowds so far, so the worst was at target, but people for the most part were being polite.

I was at my in-laws house for the weekend. I did not go shopping, but in order for my mileage to not be counted as personal, I went to work on Black Friday. I'm glad I did.

I went to a mall in Maryland (Hagerstown). Macy's seemed DEAD (at least in my department). There was only one guy working the department. I sold a couple pieces of my stuff though. Got bored, so I went to The Bon Ton. This place was SLAMMED! Lines out doors to check out and each register kiosk had 5 registers that were all open, and yet the lines were still HUGE.

But the last place I went was Kohl's. HOLY POOP! Was every bit as busy as The Bon Ton (busier, maybe). Every register was open and they were using customer service in the back as a check out register too (with about 4 people running those registers). And I sold 5 stand mixers to customers that were just there to look at things. What can I say, I can sell $300 mixers to people that are "just looking"

No way on God's green Earth was I going shopping though. I was working only for 2.5 hours and was going nuts just looking at the lines, let alone standing in them. ICK! And I waited until about 10:30am to avoid the heaviest crowds, and I also did not want to get up at 4 am either. LOL
