He is everything you want in an owner. His passion and dedication to making the team better and give this city a championship gives me hope.

The Cavs need to walk a fine line here.. this firing needs to look like its being done for the right reasons and not just to keep LeBron happy... or to give him final say in who the next coach is... Regardless of what the truth actually is, it cannot APPEAR that LeBron is making all of the decisions... and for the record, he should NOT be making all of the decisions anyway.. he's a phenomenal 25 year old basketball player but he is not qualified to run the organization..

If LeBron leaves that will be in my prayers every night.. that the Cavs win a championship and he does not. I know some on here might be able to genuinely wish him well... and while I won't wish injuries or plagues of locust on him, I will not wish him great success with his new team.. can't do it.

Obama envisions LeBron with Bulls
Friday, May 14, 2010 By Melissa Isaacson ESPNChicago.com
Include President Obama as another Chicago Bulls fan rooting for LeBron James to move to Chicago.
"He doesn't want to tamper," senior adviser to the president -- and former Bulls season-ticket holder -- David Axelrod said. "But as a Chicago fan, the president thinks LeBron would look great in a Bulls uniform."
James, whose Cleveland Cavaliers were eliminated from the playoffs Thursday by the Boston Celtics, becomes a free agent on July 1. Many believe he could be headed to the Bulls.
The president, a former U.S. senator from Illinois and state senator from Chicago, never has shied away from his sporting roots. He frequently wears his Chicago White Sox cap; has attended a Washington Wizards victory over the Bulls last season, and also hosted the Bulls on a tour of the White House.
And Obama just couldn't resist slipping in some trash talk when the Los Angeles Lakers visited the White House following their 2008-09 NBA title.
"I'm especially excited to meet Coach Phil Jackson, the 'Zen Master,' " Obama said. "I've been a fan of Coach Jackson's ever since his days running the triangle offense in Chicago. I want to congratulate him on his 10th NBA title, the most in history, but I do want to point out that six of them came with the Bulls."
Later, Obama playfully taunted Magic Johnson as he re-enacted Michael Jordan's "spectacular move" from Game 2 of the 1991 NBA Finals when Jordan, in mid-air, switched the ball from right to left hand before laying it in.
"[The Lakers] won the first game, so they were feeling cocky ... [John] Paxson was hitting all those shots ..." Obama said.
Obama also filmed a video tribute to Johnny "Red" Kerr for the beloved Bulls announcer's retirement ceremony in February of 2009. Kerr, who died of cancer just 16 days later, cherished the moment.
"Back at the house, we had TiVo'd it and Dad was watching it smiling, watching the tribute from the president," said Johnny's son, Matt. "I said, 'Pretty cool,' and Dad looks at the TV and says, 'Thanks, O.' "

Honestly, that is news?? Some advisor mentions that Obama would probably want to see Lebron as a Bull, and that goes straight to the front page?

I don't know if I'd call it "news", but it might be of interest to the 70% of voters in Cuyahoga County that voted Obama in 2008, if they feel he's trying to influence James to leave.

He's not ... It's basically his advisor responding to a question posed to him basically asking, "You think Obama would like to see Lebron as a Bull?" ... He responds with, "No crap, Sherlock", and the media runs off with a headline "Obama stumps for Lebron in New York".

either way, what does it matter? that guy has enough on his plate, he shouldn't be worried about where lbj goes.
worry about the trillions of dollars of debt we're in, and the unemployment rate across the country.

Look ... I'm not the least bit fond of Obama or his policies, but this "story" is just rediculous. First off, it wasn't Obama that was quoted ... second, the media was the one throwing the question out there. I don't think Obama is investing a whole lot of "worry" about anything LBJ related. Since he's a Bulls fan, it's pretty obvious he'd probably prefer to see Lebron there ... and probably Wade and Bosh too ... there, I said it ... the media can go run off and quote me on that.
Bottom line ... it was an Obama aide stating the obvious, and the media making crap up about nothing.

I saw a tweet from someone last night ... "Will Obama be blamed for the sudden rise of unemployment in Cleveland tomorrow?"

I do wonder ..... If LeBron would go to Chicago ..... in the next Presidential election would we see the Obama quotes used as a political ad? lol That might be more effective than anything the Republicans could come up with on their own. Hell ... they might even win Cleveland ....

What a lousy day. Grey and rainy outside, half the people at work took the day off making for a crazy busy day, then I come home to find out Mike Brown is still our coach. I thought Fridays were supposed to be good days?

if lbj leaves and the cavs go back to irrelevancy (is that even a word?) i will put up a poll in the poll forum and the members can vote on the most irrelevant cav of all time as my new name. i'm so serious.
we can start jotting down candidates. larry hughes, sasha pavlovic, lucious harris...
My vote goes to Harold Miner...12th overall pick, won a few dunk contests, had some decent buzz when he came to Cleveland, didn't do squat. We even traded him once and had it rescinded when the other team came to their senses

How about Jumaine Jones, he was upset when the Cavs drafted LeBron. He felt that he didn't need to be replaced, didn't do squat elsewhere.

once we find out what he's gonna do, we'll start preparing for that. i found this little funny thing though. i was watching a video on cleveland.com of lebron talking about the fans of cleveland after the game, and one person in the comments section went nuts calling him a choker, and the person right after him had this to say Quote:
Like he reads this, or cares what you think while he swims in a pool of gold coins like Scrooge McDuck and wipes his arse with hundred dollar bills.
i don't know why, but i burst out laughing

J/C... http://www.cbssports.com/nba/story/13392...headlines;otherCavaliers GM says LeBron's elbow needed rest May 14, 2010 CBSSports.com wire reports INDEPENDENCE, Ohio -- Cleveland Cavaliers general manager Danny Ferry says the elbow injury that bothered LeBron James during the NBA playoffs was bad enough that the team would have rested him during the regular season. Ferry revealed for the first time that the league's MVP complained about his elbow before an April 8 game in Chicago. He was a late scratch from the starting lineup that night and sat out Cleveland's final four regular-season games. James was diagnosed with a sprained elbow and bone bruise. He said earlier this week that the elbow was "an issue" he would take care of in the offseason. Ferry has not been told by anyone that James needs surgery. He said James was informed he couldn't damage the elbow further by playing with the injury.

I'm sure it hurt and I'm sure it had an effect on his game, but Kobe played almost an entire season with that badly injured finger and never made an excuse, so I hope LeBron doesn't.

although an injured index finger is not that big of a problem as an injured elbow in turns of shooting and other things in basketball.
and of course, there are people who believe that LeBron has no injury to his elbow and that he is faking it..

I agree, and as much as it will suck if Lebron leaves,I think in the long run we are going to be OK. Yeah we might not be able to do much right now but I have confidence that Gilbert will do everything in his power to make us a champion at some point.

Not gonna matter, but awesome nonetheless lol. The furniture guy with the 5 foot long arms brings it all together - I miss living in Cleveland just because I can't see that guys commercials anymore.
Please stay LeBron, we really need you...

Kinda cool.
But, honestly, it's cheesy. I wouldn't have appeared in it, and I'm sad the gov. did, and sherrod brown. The whole thing came across as "begging" - I'm not a beggar. If lebron wants to stay, he'll get the money. If he doesn't want to stay - screw him.

Yeah I pretty much feel the same way, it makes us look so desperate.
Yeah it's corny as hell also, some of those solos were just laughable. Especially the guy with the long hair and the Holmgren stache.

I agree 100%. I appreciate what the guy has done for the city, and the cavs organization. But if he leaves, life will move forward. I can't believe you have grown men kissing this guy's butt. You will never hear me call him King.
