Browns sign WR Robinson, waive Dion Morton

The Associated Press
Published: Thursday, Jun. 3, 2010 - 3:12 pm

CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Browns have signed wide receiver James Robinson.

Last season, the 6-foot-3 Robinson signed as a free agent with Miami and spent eight weeks on the Dolphins' practice squad. He was with Cleveland for three weeks and spent the final four weeks with the Washington Redskins. The 28-year-old has also played in the Canadian and Arena Football Leagues.

The Browns also waived wide receiver Dion Morton.

Most likely camp fodder.

He went to Butler County Community College ..... wherever that is.

He's bounced around the NFL, CFL, and AFL.

Yeah .... camp fodder. (unless he turns out to be the WR version of Kurt Warner and shocks th world by leading us to a Super Bowl victory ....)

OK, I'm awake again.

LOL... I thought the same thing when I saw the headline. Except my initial reaction was "you've got to be kidding..."

Just replacing a guy we know we won't keep with a guy who we might.

Just a bottom of the roster massage.

Butler CCC is on Rt 8 just south of Butler, PA I don't think they have a football team and did he even graduate?

BC3 is in the heart of Satan, er, Stooler country. I used to live there years ago.

Maybe he played HS football for the Butler Golden Tornadoes

More fodder for the camp...

Someone I will be anxious to see if they can impress or not is Johnathan Haggerty (I think that's his name) From the small school where he set records and my friend's a Haggerty (most likely no relation) but I'm just interested to see if he'll make the team or not. There's youth and potential there. I hate to be a negative nancy but I have little hope that a 28-year-old drifter would make a big splash on our team.

Kansas according to the PD.

The Browns signed receiver James Robinson and waived receiver Dion Morton. Signed by the Dolphins as an undrafted rookie last year out of Butler County (Kan.) Community College, Robinson spent time on Miami’s practice squad last year, as well as the Browns’ and Redskins’.

I was hoping we had signed Swiss Family Robinson. I have to think some good old fashioned coconut bombs would get us over the hump.

I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism
