Given the two that were throwing them... probably all of 4% were actually catchable, lol.

No they don't, but they don't tell the truth either.. they are just numbers.

I could 100 balls your way, but if they all land 5 yards in front of you, how many will you catch?

It looks like here the general concenus is,the WR's were at the mercy at Quinn and Anderson. I guess all the blame goes on Quinn and Anderson, but not Daboll or Massaqoui who both guys were in over their heads. Whos to blame this year if Robiskie and Massaqoui don't show any progress? Look at the film...Massaqoui did not run his routes precisely. In fact it was average at best.

If you can't see that MoMass was ABSOLUTELY at the mercy of the "Quinn & Anderson School of Throwing Grounders", then you clearly did not watch much Browns football last year.
There were more ducks flying about in Cleveland Browns Stadium than the freaking MetroParks.
Was MoMass perfect? Oh, hell no... but given that he was a rookie and had that level of utter crap throwing to him... I'd say he did pretty damned well and all signs point to him doing much, much better going forward. As for Robo... we have little choice but to wait and see, but all accounts thus far point to both he & MoMass having great spring camps thus far.

i wouldn't consider average all that bad for a first year guy taken in the 2nd round... look,
Going from college to the NFL is hard.
Going from college to being a #1 in the NFL is really hard.
Going from college to being a #1 in the NFL with no real veteran wide receivers to learn from is really really hard.
Going from college to being a #1 in the NFL with no real veteran wide receivers to learn from and very inconsistent (awful) quarterback play is really really really hard.
Going from college to being a #1 in the NFL with no real veteran wide receivers to learn from, very inconsistent (awful) quarterback play and a rookie offensive coordinator is really really really really... let's just say damn near impossible.

Them, coaches, quarterbacks, who knows.. won't know until I see how it all plays out.

I'd vote all of the above. They should show 'some progress' from last year.
I agree on all the silliness of trying to compare Wallace with MoMass last year. Another thing that hasn't been explicitly mentioned:
How many times did Wallace have to face the best CB from the other team? How many times did Wallace have to face a double or triple team?

Mo Mass didn't have to have much bracket coverage on top of him. Mike Wallace was the 3rd or 4th option in the Steelers offense.... what was Massaqiou in the Browns?

i'm not sure how that helps your point.
yes, the extra coverage safety was usually on MoMass's side of the field. whether it was needed or not could be up for debate, but it was there.
yes, MoMass was the #1 option on the Browns where Wallace was the #4 option (behind Santonio, Miller, and Ward). So, Wallace usually had the nickel CB covering him (or a safety). I think it's easier to get open against a nickel CB or a safety compared to a team's #1 CB, don't you?

You know I looked up some stats but I'm not going to post them.. the difference in this argument is that you are trying to convince me that Mike Wallace is clearly the better starter.. and I'm just trying to say that they had very similar years statistically in very different circumstances so there is no reasonable way to judge which one is better, yet.

Oh come on now.
Only some of those passes were grounders.
Some others went 5 feet over his head.

BINGO!
Quinn and DA's QB play (especially DA) was about as inconsistant as it gets, Quinn who had maybe... what, two or three GOOD games his entire span as a Brown? and DA who well, who am I kidding each and every single one of us knows the failings of Derek Anderson.
For MoMass to step in, step up and be the #1 guy. We shouldn't be dogging him, we should be PROUD of him! Most former WR's that are now Analysts, I think of Michael Irving in particular, have said that a WR's transition to NFL is usually 3 years. In MoMass' first year we got some really solid production out of him. That makes me really excited about his future with this team. I don't think he's a future #1 back but I have hopes he will remain a productive Brown for years to come.
I truly have hope for Daboll (and Mangini for that matter) in the same vein that I have hope for the entire Browns team in 2010. It makes me think back to High School PE class. If ONE kid screwed up or horsed around, every-single-person had to do push-up's or run laps. That's how I'm looking at The Browns.
It's time to stop pointing the finger at one coach, or one player, and start looking at the team as a whole.
